Vivek Kumar Kasundra | M.Eng. for IoT Systems| Nordhausen University of Applied
Sciences | Summer’2024
The proliferation of interactions in today's age of hyperconnectivity, when every aspect of our lives is intricately
intertwined, highlights the need for stricter privacy safeguards. The notion of preserving these technologies, which
seamlessly merge into our daily lives, captivates me. By thoroughly investigating the complexities present in IoT
systems, my research endeavour seeks to develop the ability to not only create strong security solutions for smart
devices but also to integrate the various fields within IoT to aid in the creation of resilient and sustainable urban
environments. With a background in cybersecurity, I believe that studying the unique security issues associated
with IoT devices would be done through the Master's program in Computer Engineering for IoT Systems.
My desire to shape IoT security beyond limiting scope in the quickly changing digital ecosystem drives me. This
academic journey aims to integrate my skills with IoT's facets to strengthen the digital modern era's foundations
and the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences would provide me the nuances required through
distinguished faculties and facilities. The interest in finding solutions for my friends to secure their networks and
data elevated me to pursue a Bachelor of Technology with a specialization in cybersecurity. Being the first person
in my family to earn a bachelor's degree in engineering is noteworthy in and of itself, especially considering that I
come from a low-income, middle-class Indian family and have no solid financial support for my further education.
In addition to working on several research projects in cybersecurity and application development, I was able to
intern at Crime Free Bharat, a government organization. While learning to code securely in PHP during this time, I
also gained multiple IT certifications beyond professional scopes, enumerating my academic attainments. During
my second semester of college, I became a member of the Karma Foundation, where we worked in assisting living
facilities and raised awareness about giving up tobacco use, which reflects my enriched dexterity to serve society
for sustainable and impactful consequences.
Consequently, for being well-rounded, I decided to take the road towards Amazon Web Services techniques that
instilled in me the tactics of managing the database and performing cloud operations to secure the operations well
and manage the workspace. The network too plays a vital role in securing the data of the organization, and to wet
my hands in the process, I gained a Cisco certification in switching, routing, and wireless essentials. In the middle
of the AWS training by Amazon, I used to follow Joachim Aumann for the solutions to be granted, and I
connected the dots when I came across him as the conference speaker for the Cyberwisecon Europe 2024
Conference, which aims to create an ever-evolving digital landscape where knowledge alone is not enough to
safeguard against cyber threats. Wisdom, gained through experience and collective understanding, empowers us
to stay one step ahead toward being safe.
Such associations have made the IT field a renowned domain where the aspect of a connectivity solution experts
plays a vital role, and to demonstrate the same, I interned at the Karma Foundation to leverage the old people and
youth from the cyber attacks and assisted them through the growing technological aspects. I have successfully
achieved a harmonious equilibrium between my academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. Nevertheless, as a
computer aficionado, most of my activities involve technology. Despite this, I still make time to play cricket and
badminton with my friends on a regular basis because of the belief that mental clarity is too important to let go of
when trying to keep up with work and knowledge. Overall my cybersecurity knowledge took a right turn when
collided with your university’s exceptional program, my search stopped there and now, with a clear mind, I am
ready to share and gain new experiences at your university.
Earning a degree with a focus on Internet of Things systems is a smart move in light of the growing need for expert
to strengthen the digital backbone of these linked ecosystems. I intend to make a positive impact on world security
by learning about safe system design, encryption methods, and threat detection for creating novel ways to
counteract cyber dangers in the rapidly growing Internet of Things (IoT) space.
Nordhausen University stands out as the best option because of its outstanding curriculum, which perfectly
matches the complexities of modern IoT solutions. This curriculum offers a well-rounded education in the many
interrelated areas of the Internet of Things (IoTs) by covering topics such as microelectronics, embedded software,
wireless networking, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. I am thrilled to join the university and add to its
stellar reputation in the subject of Internet of Things security, which perfectly matches my dedication to improving
the field as a whole. In conclusion, along with following being personal, innovative, and diverse, my approaches
with the strategies of Nordhausen, 2030.
