COMPONENT

EVENT TITLE Slide Deck Creation Challenge
NO. OF 1 learner-participant from either of the grade levels or from one

Participants are expected to create a slide deck presentation
that demonstrates effective use of ICT tools to organize and
present information creatively and clearly. The presentation
should show proficiency in using digital tools to communicate
ideas effectively, with attention to design, clarity, and
engagement.
PERFORMANCE
STANDARD Nakagagawa ng slide presentation na may animation,
transition, audio at video. (MATATAG Grade 5)

Participants are expected to use the advanced features of a


slide presentation tool to create a multimedia presentation with
text, graphics, and photos; hyperlinked elements; animation;
and embedded audio and/or video (TLEIE6-0i-15)

The Slide Deck Creation Challenge invites learners from
Grades 4 to 6 to showcase their creativity and presentation
skills by designing a slide deck based on a given topic.
DESCRIPTION Participants will be assessed on their ability to communicate
information effectively using a combination of text, images, and
design elements while adhering to technical specifications and
time constraints.

EVENT RULES AND MECHANICS


A. All officially enrolled Grades 4 to 6 learners with a valid Learner Reference Number
(LRN) are eligible to join the competition.
B. The Event Administrator, members of the Technical Committee, and the Board of
Judges must arrive at the venue sixty (60) minutes before the scheduled event.

C. The Technical Committee will inspect the resource requirements (computers, software,
and venue setup) at least sixty (60) minutes before the event to ensure everything is in
place.
D. All necessary materials, supplies, tools, and equipment must be prepared by the Event
Administrator sixty (60) minutes before the event begins.
E. Participants will use presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint) provided by the
Event Administrator, with internet access disabled.
F. The theme for the Slide Deck Creation Challenge will be announced by the Event
Administrator at the start of the competition.
G. Internet access will not be allowed. Borrowing pre-made templates, slides, or external
assistance is strictly prohibited.
H. The Event Administrator will announce the competition theme and specific project
requirements at the start of the event.
I. The slide deck must include creative design elements, be aligned with the provided
theme, and clearly communicate the intended message.
J. All participants are expected to be at the designated venue thirty (30) minutes before
the event starts. Late participants may be allowed to join after an evaluation of their
reasons by the Technical Committee.
K. Participants will draw lots to determine their respective stations. They must set up
their computers and peripherals (e.g., extension cords, mouse, etc.) during this time.
Borrowing materials, supplies, tools, or equipment from other participants or event
organizers is strictly prohibited.
L. A briefing will be conducted fifteen (15) minutes before the event by the Event
Administrator to review important guidelines and expectations.
M. The Event Administrator will officially signal the start of the competition.
N. Once the event begins, teacher-coaches, and other delegates will no longer be allowed
to communicate with the participants to ensure their focus on the task.
O. Only the Event Administrator, Technical Committee members, Judges, the official
photographer, and participants are allowed in the venue during the competition.
P. Participants are not allowed to ask questions or raise queries during the competition
proper.
Q. Participants will have two (2) hours to complete their slide deck based on the provided
theme and project requirements.
R. Participants must save and submit their completed slide deck using the following
format: SlideDeck#(participant number)
Example: SlideDeck#01
The slide deck should be submitted digitally via the method specified by the event
facilitators (e.g., USB, file-sharing platform).
S. After the three-hour time limit, participants will undergo a panel interview with the
Board of Judges to discuss their slide deck, explain their design choices, and
demonstrate how they incorporated the competition’s theme. Deliberation will follow,
with projects assessed based on the established criteria (Content, Design, Technical
Skill, Presentation, and Interview).
T. Participants are encouraged to bring their own food, as they will not be allowed to leave
the venue during break time.
U. Participants are responsible for cleaning their workstations immediately after the
event.
