Dot Matrix Printer
In this printer, tiny hammers strike an ink ribbon against the paper to print the
images and text in the form of tiny dots. The dot matrix printer can print only in
black and white. This printer is very slow, noisy and does not produce quality
output.
Inkjet Printer
These printers work by spraying little droplets of ink onto paper. It can give the
output both in black and white and in colours. This printer produces high quality
prints when used with a special paper.
Laser Printer
This printer uses laser beams and dry ink to print the text and graphics. These can
give black and white or coloured printouts. The quality of printouts is very good.
4. The data and instructions that are entered into the computer system through input
units are to be stored inside the computer in some storage media. This storage
media is known as memory. There are two types of computer memory:

1. Header and Footer options are used to place some information on top and bottom
of every page, respectively. Headers and footers generally contain page number,
file name, title of the document, the author’s name, the current date, and so on.
2. Line spacing means the amount of vertical space between the lines of text.
To change line spacing for a single paragraph, follow the given steps:
Step 1 : Select the paragraph or place the cursor in the paragraph whose line
spacing is to be changed.
Step 2 : Click on Line and Paragraph Spacing button in Paragraph group of Home
Tab.
Step 3 : Hover your mouse pointer on the various line spacing options. The

Indentation determines the amount of spacing between the text and the page
margins. The indentation feature is used to move a complete paragraph or the first

3. A page break is that place in a document where one-page ends and the next one
begins.
While typing a document, a page break gets inserted automatically when a fixed
number of lines have been typed. However, many times you need to force a page
break to suit your requirement. Page breaks move the text to a new page before
reaching the end of a page.
4. Orientation of a page means the direction in which the text appears on a page.
Word has two types of page orientation.

Domain name is separated into two parts by a period (.). The first part is the name

depicts the type of website, for example.com means commercial, .gov means
government and many more.
An e-mail address cannot use commas, spaces, or brackets. Instead, hyphen and
underscore can be used.
