Class:6th

Topic:To learn how to collect, represent, and analyze data.

Materials Required:
• Chart paper

• Pencils

• Graph paper

Working Method:
1. The teacher divides the class into groups of five students.

2. Students of each group select a question they are interested in answering.

- For example: Students will select four colours that their classmates can choose from: (a)
Red, (b) Green, (c) Yellow, (d) Pink.

3. They take the chart paper and divide it into five parts.

4. They proceed as follows:

• Step I: Write the heading as ‘Favourite Colour of Different Students’.

• Step II: Survey the students of other groups by asking them their favourite colour and
record the data using tally marks.

• Step III: Draw the pictograph of the recorded data.

• Step IV:Draw the bar graph.

• Step V: Write at least five questions based on the pictograph and bar graph.

Favourite Colors of Different Students:

Observation:
• The favourite colour of students varies based on preference.
