Immediate Media was formed in 2011 and includes


some of the biggest lifestyle brands in the UK
including Radio Times, Good Food, Nutracheck and
HistoryExtra. Immediate Media heavily believes in
equality, diversity, inclusion and are owned by Hubert
Burda Media. Immediate Media was created by the combined assets of several
formally independent publishing houses.

Immediate Media is a Mass media company because they reach 21 million people
each month and reach a third of UK adults. They are also a cross media company
because they own multiple
magazine and website
companies such as Top
Gear, Cycling plus,
YourHome and BikeRadar.
Immediate Media is not a
conglomerate because it
owns multiple platforms and
media brands but not
companies.

“Competing Products”
Future PLC owns a gardening genre magazine called HOMES AND GARDENS,
whilst their competitor also has a gardening genre magazine called BBC Gardeners’
world which in 2023 sold 164,576 copies which is equal to £1.4 million. This would
mean that both companies are competitors as they both produce the same genre of
magazine and both have a mass audience

Immediate Media owns a history genre Magazine called History Extra which has an
annual revenue of £1 million whilst on the other hand, Future PLC also owns a
History Genre Magazine called All About History which aims to tell history in an
entertaining and educational way. Making these two companies competitors.
