Chapter 1
Chapter Summary

Mizuki goes to school 🤯

Chapter Notes

So um I literally just joined ao3 I've got no idea what I'm doing

Mizuki POV

Mizuki made their way through the doors of Kamiyama. Today was a rare occasion where
they actually decided to show up to school. Gotta keep my attendance high enough so I don't
have to take those stupid supplementary classes.

They also haven't been able to go into the Empty Sekai lately. Ena, Kanade, and Mafuyu also
seem to be having this problem too. It was really worrying. Mizuki pushed those thoughts
away. There was no time to be miserable about attending school when better things were
happening today.

Today was the day Corrupted Songs was going to be available to buy. Unfortunately, Mizuki
had missed the opportunity to see the movie in theaters. They had somehow managed to
avoid most online spoilers though, so that was good.

But what's better than experiencing it yourself? Experiencing it with friends, of course! They
had a lot of friends, but they seemed too busy with singing practice, making music, or after
school clubs to watch with Mizuki. Ena was just lazy though.

They hadn't asked Rui yet, however. They'd just assumed he'd be too busy practicing for a
show with the rest of his group. It couldn't hurt to ask though.

Rui has always been there for Mizuki. He never cared about their appearance and just
accepted them for who they were, which is all Mizuki could ask for.

They made their way to the rooftop before class started, and sure enough, there he was. “Hey!
Rui!”

“Mizuki! A rare sight to see you here.” He answered.

“Yeah, yeah. Anyway, don't you know what day it is?”

“The day you finally confess your love to Ena?” He smirked.

“Huh? No!” Mizuki started to blush. “It's the day Corrupted Songs is available to buy.”

“Ah. That movie you wanted to see. About the virtual singers?”

“Yes! That one! I'm going to pick it up and watch it tonight. You wanna join?”

“Hmm. It just so happens that today is our day off of show practice. Emu and Nene are going
on some of the new rides at PXL tonight… but me and Tsukasa aren't busy.”

“Just say you want to invite Tsukasa, I know what you are.”

“Oh, come on. I don't like him like that.” Rui replied, but his tinted pink cheeks said
otherwise. “But I'll ask him later then, if you want.”

“Well, Tsukasa always makes things fun! Bring him if you can. My house, two hours after
school!” Mizuki yelled as they walked off to prepare for a boring school day.

Rui POV

“Tsukasa!” Rui shouted.

“RUIIIIIIII!” Tsukasa shouted twenty times louder as they met up for lunch. As loud as he is,
I really like it when he does that.

“Mizuki invited us over to watch a new movie.” Rui said.

“Oh! What movie?”

“Corrupted Songs. It's about the virtual singers.”

“OOOOHHH.” There was recognition in Tsukasa's voice. “I've heard of that one before. It
looks good! I haven't seen it yet.”

“You want to watch with us then?”

“Yeah!”

“Alright! Mizuki said two hours after school at their house.”

“Got it! Um, Rui?”

“Yeah?”

“Can I come over to your house right after school? Then we can go to Mizuki’s together.”

“Oh, yeah, sure.”

Soon enough, the bell rang and lunch was already over. “See you after school, Rui!”

“See you.” The way he asked to come over to my house… did he seem a little nervous, or was
it just my imagination? It was sort of cute though.

Wait, cute? I can't call Tsukasa cute, even if it's in my head, that's weird. Rui shook his head a
little to clear his thoughts away and focused on getting back to class instead of thinking about
Tsukasa.

It seemed that he was all Rui was thinking about lately. I can't possibly like him like that,
right? There's no way he would like me back.

Mizuki POV

Mizuki walked into the music store, which also sells movies. In hindsight, they probably
should have pre-ordered this or something because when they walked through the doors,
there weren't any copies in sight. No, this can't be! I can’t miss out again!

They frantically checked the shelves with no luck. “Excuse me!” They yelled to the worker at
the front counter. “Do you have Corrupted Songs?”

“Were there any on the shelves? Then no.” The guy said. He clearly didn't care how
important this was to them. So Mizuki did the one thing they learned best from Rui. They
started fake sobbing.

“But this can't be! My life is over! How could you? Not even bothering to check for me!”
The worker looked afraid that Mizuki was gonna cause a bigger scene, so he gave in and
went to check the back.

He came back after an excruciatingly long two minutes. “You're in luck. This is the last
copy.”

“Thank you! Here's the exact change!” Mizuki completely switched their attitude, and
handed them the money. Then skipped out the music shop doors.

They took a quick glance behind them to see the worker looking annoyed. Well, it had to be
done or I wouldn't have got this. Their mood was the happiest they'd been in a while, and
they were ready to have a fun night with Rui and Tsukasa.
Chapter 2
Chapter Summary

Glitter explodes in Tsukasa's face 😈

Rui POV

After school time came around and Rui was actually feeling excited. He always did when he
was with Tsukasa, but it had been a while since he had spent more time with Mizuki. It was
gonna be a perfect evening. What could go wrong?

“RUIIIIIIIIIII!” Tsukasa yelled as they were about to meet up to walk to Rui's house. That
yell always made Rui's heart flutter, but what was so special about it?

“Hehe. No need to shout, I'm right here.” Rui responded, and they began walking side by
side.

They were walking closer together than Rui did with any of his other friends. Their hands
brushed against each other briefly, and a feeling shot through Rui. Is Mizuki right? Do I like
him? No, I'm just overthinking.

They made it to Rui's house and went to his room. His parents weren't home yet, so they
weren't an issue.

“What did you want to do, Tsukasa?” Rui asked as they sat on the floor since his bed was
covered in the robot parts he hadn't had a chance to move yet.

“I don't know. Anything's good when it's with you.” Tsukasa replied.

Rui could feel heat rising into his cheeks really quickly at that statement, but he managed to
reply. “Ah, but you're the guest.”

Unfortunately the pink in Rui's face did not go unnoticed by Tsukasa. “Rui, you look a little
flushed, are you okay?”

He leaned over and put a hand on Rui's forehead, which didn't help the blush in his cheeks go
away. “I'm fine, Tsukasa, really.”

“Okay, if you're sure.” Tsukasa moved his hand away. Okay, okay. I think I do like Tsukasa.
Nobody blushes that much towards a friend.

“Hey, what's that thing?” Tsukasa pointed to one of Rui's smaller robots that was unfinished.
“Oh, that? It sets bombs off. I've already planted twelve throughout the school.”

“HUH?!” The look on Tsukasa's face was priceless.

“Hehe, I'm only kidding. I have a finished one over here.” Rui went to get the robot, and
turned it on. Tsukasa watched as the small robot made its way over to him.

“Ah!” He jumped back in surprise when it shot glitter at him.

“See? It's only glitter.”

“Rui! That's gonna be stuck on me for months!”

“That’s why I chose to fill it with glitter.”

“Come on! Get this off me! Also, can you use this on Akito?”

“Of course, he'll be the first victim.”

Rui took Tsukasa to brush the glitter into the trash can, and then handed him a damp cloth to
get anything else that was stuck.

“There. Your shirt is as good as new.” Rui told him, though you could still see some sparkles
in the right light.

“What about the back of me?” Tsukasa asked.

Rui inspected the back of Tsukasa's hair, and there was indeed some glitter stuck in it. He ran
his fingers through his surprisingly soft hair and picked out the glitter. He got some glitter off
the back of his shirt too.

“That's the best I can do.” Rui told him.

“The best you can do?”

“You can't even tell you had glitter all over you a moment ago. You're fine.”

“Alright. As long as it's not on my face. Do you see anything else?” Tsukasa turned towards
him.

Rui could see a couple sparkles stuck to his left eyebrow, but nowhere else. He moved
Tsukasa's hair out of the way and ran his thumb over his eyebrow. I'm actually touching
Tsukasa's face right now. No, wait, stop overthinking this.

He got the sparkles and showed them to Tsukasa. “That's all there was. Your face is glitter
free now.”

“Thanks, Rui.” Tsukasa was blushing now.

“Tsukasa are you alright? You're the one looking flushed now.” Rui had to ask him.
“Don't worry about me! I'm just fine!” Tsukasa replied. “Anyway, can I watch you build the
robot that was unfinished?”

Rui was a bit caught off guard by that question. He'd never expected Tsukasa to want to
watch him build robots. “Oh. Yeah, I don't see why not.”

He took Tsukasa back to his room and began work on the robot. It was making him nervous
with Tsukasa watching so closely beside him. But pretty soon, he felt Tsukasa fall asleep on
his shoulder. He almost didn't want to move him, but he figured he should stop working on
the robot since it wasn't too long before they had to go to Mizuki's house.

“Tsukasa.” Rui shook him a little.

“Hm? Oh, Rui! Did I fall asleep?”

“You did.”

“I'm sorry! I swear it's just because I'm really tired, not because you're boring! I was enjoying
watching you.”

“I believe you, don't worry. We've got about half an hour if you want to sleep. Here, I'll move
this stuff out of the way.” Rui moved the robot parts he'd been meaning to move off his bed,
and laid down on one side of it, so Tsukasa could lay on the other. “Come lay down.”

“Are you sure?” Tsukasa asked.

“Yeah. Go to sleep, you clearly need it. I'll wake you when we have to go.” Rui invited him.

Tsukasa POV

Tsukasa laid down next to Rui, and for some reason, it felt comforting knowing Rui was right
there, even with all his strange robots. I guess, despite all the things he puts me through,
there's no one I trust more.

“Just don't put any more glitter on me while I'm asleep.” Tsukasa teased. Even though he
knew Rui wouldn't do anything bad to him.

“Don't you trust me, Tsukasa?” Rui said while pretending to be offended.

“Of course I do.” Tsukasa answered seriously. “There's no one I trust more.”

With that, Tsukasa quickly drifted into sleep.

Rui POV

There's no one he trusts more? It was a good thing Tsukasa wasn't looking at Rui's blushing
face right now. I think I'm in love with him. Oh. Oh no. I'm in love with Tsukasa? How did I
let myself do that?
Rui looked at the sleeping Tsukasa next to him, and started to absentmindedly play with a
piece of his hair that was sticking up. He started to think about when he was getting the
glitter off his face. Was Tsukasa really blushing when I did that? Why does he have to be so
cute?

Tsukasa POV

Tsukasa woke from his nap. It wasn't time to leave yet or Rui would have woken him up
himself. The nap that he had was actually one of his best ever.

Rui was scrolling on his phone with one hand, and with the other, Tsukasa could feel him
playing with a small piece of his hair. He didn't want him to stop, so he closed his eyes and
pretended to sleep again. I want him to keep playing with my hair forever.

Wait, am I blushing? He thought back to when Rui got those couple glitter pieces off his face.
Why did that make me blush?

Could it be that the star himself has fallen for his own director? No way. That wouldn't
happen.

After a few more minutes, Rui gently shook him. “Tsukasa, time to wake up.”

Tsukasa pretended to wake up. “Hm? Already? That was the best nap I've ever had.”

“Now you'll be ready to watch the movie without falling asleep halfway through.”
Chapter 3
Chapter Summary

Bye Mizuki 👋

Tsukasa POV

Rui and Tsukasa arrived at Mizuki's house, and knocked on the door.

“Hi guys!” Mizuki answered, and started pushing them towards the couch. “This is gonna be
so fun! I've prepared popcorn, and I made sure to get soda candy just for you, Rui.”

“How thoughtful of you.” Rui replied, already shoving candy into his mouth. Tsukasa sat
next to him, and Mizuki sat on Rui's other side.

Tsukasa couldn't help but sit really close to Rui. Although, he wasn't sure why he wanted
their shoulders to be pressed together like this. Well, Rui doesn't seem to mind. Or he's not
saying anything, at least.

Tsukasa was comfortable leaning on Rui the entire time. The movie started with three
teenagers making music with Miku. While they were making it, the song became corrupted
and…

“That's not part of the movie, is it?” Mizuki said. “Great. Of course something has to go
wrong. I guess I'm just destined to not watch this movie.”

The TV has a weird blue static on it. Tsukasa watched as Mizuki got up off the couch to try
and fix it. Their efforts didn't seem to be working though.

“Any luck?” Rui asked.

“No. And just when it was getting good too.” Mizuki complained.

Rui POV

Rui was about to get up and see if he could help Mizuki fix the TV, when he realized how
much Tsukasa was leaning on him. He was pretty sure Tsukasa was not using any of his
muscles, and Rui was taking all his weight.

“Tsukasa, you're getting a bit heavy there.” Rui told him.

“Huh?” Tsukasa sat up. “Oh, sorry.”

“I don't mind. You can keep doing it when I sit down again. I was just gonna see if I could
help Mizuki with the TV.” Did I really just tell Tsukasa to keep leaning on me? I mean, I did
like it…

“Okay.” Tsukasa said a little shyly, which wasn't like him at all, but Rui didn't think much of
it, and got up to help Mizuki.

After a few minutes of fiddling around with the TV, it came back on.

“Thank goodness we figured that out.” Mizuki said, relieved.

Tsukasa POV

The TV was back on now, and they could now resume watching where they left off. Mizuki
was already back on the couch ready to hit play, and Rui sat back down beside Tsukasa too.

Should I lean on him again? He did say I could, but… why do I even want to? Do I like him?
No, he's just really comfortable, that's all. Tsukasa sat there and thought for a few minutes,
then he decided.

He leaned up against Rui and rested his head on his shoulder. The sweater Rui was wearing
was very nice and soft.

Mizuki leaned forward to grab the popcorn bowl off the table in front of the couch, and raised
an eyebrow at Tsukasa. Tsukasa glared back at them, and he hoped Rui didn't see that.

He saw Mizuki whisper something into Rui's ear. Tsukasa cringed with embarrassment,
knowing that Mizuki probably just told Rui that he likes him or something.

I don't like him, right? He kept telling himself that, yet as time goes on, he becomes more and
more unsure.

Rui POV

After Mizuki grabbed the popcorn bowl, they leaned over and whispered into Rui's ear.
“You're blushing so much right now.”

Rui elbowed Mizuki, and they just giggled.

Tsukasa POV

The movie had only been playing again for about fifteen minutes until it glitched out again.

“Seriously!?” Mizuki got up again. “Maybe it's the disc that's the problem.”

They opened up the movie player and took the disc out. It was glowing strangely, and so was
their hand. The glow traveled up Mizuki's arm, and their hand started disappearing. “Um,
guys, help! My arm!”

Rui and Tsukasa both came over to help. “What is that?” Rui asked.
“I don't know! Make it stop!” Mizuki was panicking now.

“Rui!” Tsukasa yelled. “My hand!”

Rui reached out to try and touch Tsukasa's hand, but Rui's hand went right through him. Then
Rui's hand became infected with that strange glowing stuff.

“Mizuki! You're half gone!” Tsukasa yelled. He and Rui watched as Mizuki's entire body got
turned into blue glow particles. They looked like they were sucked into the movie disc.

“Where'd they go!?” Tsukasa exclaimed.

“I think we're about to find out.” Rui answered. Despite how calm he sounded, Tsukasa could
tell he was panicking too.
Chapter 4

Mizuki POV

Mizuki found themselves in an empty gray area. It had glowing blue stuff all around it, the
same color as on the disc. At closer inspection, it looked gross.

I'm never buying physical movie copies again. But more importantly… Where am I? They
didn't have time to be scared of the unfamiliar surroundings before they heard a voice.

“Mizuki, don't touch that.” The person talking was none other than Luka. But this Luka was
nothing like the one in Empty Sekai.

“Luka? H-How do you know me?”

“I know you from the Empty Sekai, of course. However, I'm not the same Luka.” Mizuki
stared back at her blankly.

Luka continued. “I know this is confusing, so allow me to explain. You're in Corrupted

Songs. You may have been led to believe that it was a fictional movie, but this is very real.
Our world is corrupted. The virus has already got to Miku, Rin, Len, and Meiko. That's what
that gross blue stuff is. But thankfully, me and Kaito figured out a way to bring real people
into our world here. We can't leave this world, but you can. We need you to stop whoever's
doing this.”

“This is real?” Mizuki was shocked.

“Yes. Please try to help us get Miku and the others back.”

Mizuki could hardly believe what was going on here. But this wasn't a dream. I'm not
dreaming. The virtual singers actually need help. This also explains why I haven't been able
to enter the Empty Sekai lately.

“Okay, I'll help. Let's get Miku and others back to normal!”

“Thank you, but we have to be careful. If you touch the blue stuff, you could die. As time
passes, the blue stuff expands. We'll be consumed by it soon enough, just like Miku and the
others.”

“I could die…? Um, you mentioned Kaito. Where is he?” Mizuki asked.

“I don't know, we got separated somehow...”

“That's what we'll do right now then. Find Kaito!” Mizuki did their best to stay positive.
After all, if Luka brought them here, she must know how to get them out.

“Thank you for being so positive, but I can tell you're worried.” Luka said.
There was no use hiding anything from her. Mizuki sighed. “I'm worried about my friends.
I'm pretty sure they're here too. I hope nothing bad has happened.”

“Your friends are here? I only brought you here. I'm sure it was Kaito who brought your
friends here. He'll take good care of them, don't worry.”

“Really? That's a relief.” Mizuki felt a bit better now. “Let's waste no more time, and find
them then!”

Rui POV

Rui found himself in a strange looking area. It looked awfully like the virtual singer world in
the movie they had been watching. We can't possibly be in the movie, right? No, that's
ridiculous.

He was about to stand up, but Tsukasa was asleep lying completely on top of him. Rui poked
his cheek. “Tsukasa.”

“Hm?” Tsukasa looked confused, but then he looked embarrassed when he realized he was
lying on top of Rui. “How did we end up like this?”

“I'm not sure, did we fall in here?” Rui answered. Tsukasa rolled off of him and they laid
beside each other, his shoulder pressed against Rui's.

“I have no idea.” Silence stretched for a few minutes before Tsukasa spoke again. “But I'm
sort of scared.”

“Scared?” Rui wasn't expecting that. I'm scared too though. “Of what?”

“It's so gloomy here, we don't know where we are or how to get out, and we're alone...”

“I know. I'm scared too. But we're not alone. We still have each other.” Rui tried his best to be
comforting. Truthfully, he always feels calmer when Tsukasa is by his side.

“But what's the difference if we're together or not? I can't ever be a star if we're stuck here,
and neither of us know what to do now.” Tsukasa sounded frustrated and Rui could see the
beginnings of tears in his eyes.

Rui remembered Tsukasa's earlier words. There's no one I trust more. “Well, I'd rather be
stuck with you, Tsukasa, because there's no one I trust more.”

“Really?” Tsukasa's face became a little pink from Rui's words.

“Really.” Rui replied.

Rui thought Tsukasa still looked defeated. Their hands were slightly touching, and he debated
whether holding his hand would be weird or not. I just want to comfort him, would it really be
so weird?
He somehow gained the confidence to do it, but he didn't dare to make eye contact with him.
He felt Tsukasa move his hand to intertwine their fingers together. Rui squeezed his hand a
little. Does Tsukasa actually want to be holding my hand right now?

Never would Rui have thought he'd see the day where he and Tsukasa held hands. But it was
probably a day he'd treasure for a very long time.

Kaito POV

There they are! Kaito thought to himself. Tsukasa and Rui are the perfect duo to get them all
out of this blue virus mess. As he approached them, he heard Tsukasa talking loudly,
sounding frustrated.

Instead of being normal, and just introducing himself, Kaito decided to be an eavesdropper.
Kaito would never choose to be normal. He strives to be as unhinged as possible. That's why
he chose Rui and Tsukasa to fix this mess.

“But what's the difference if we're together or not? I can't ever be a star if we're stuck here,
and neither of us know what to do now.”

“Well, I'd rather be stuck with you, Tsukasa, because there's no one I trust more than you.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

Oh! It sounds like it's my time to be a wingman! I always knew this day would come. Kaito
continued watching them like the weirdo he is.

Oh my, they're holding hands now! How exciting! He held back his evil laughter of joy at
what he just witnessed, and he called out to them. “Hey! Rui! Tsukasa!”

Tsukasa POV

“Are we really stuck in a movie?” Tsukasa asked.

“It might sound weird but it does look like the movie we were watching, doesn't it?” Rui
answered.

Tsukasa looked around. “Yeah, but-”

He got cut off by another voice. A familiar one. “Hey! Rui! Tsukasa!”

“KAITO!?” Tsukasa yelled.

“Haha. That's me.” Kaito replied.

“What are you doing here? Do you know how we ended up here?” Rui asked.
“I brought you guys here! You see, we're having a very serious problem. The blue stuff you
see everywhere is infecting everyone with a virus, and sometimes it just drops out of
nowhere. Me and Luka have been lucky enough to not end up touching it, and I think Gakupo
is still fine, but I sort of don't know where they went…” Kaito responded.

“What do you mean you don't know where they went?” Tsukasa asked, annoyed.

“Well, ever since this virus got in here, it's changed a lot here. Places are either covered or
blocked off by all these virus blobs.”

Rui looked concerned. “Where is everyone with the virus? Is it contagious?”

“I'm not sure. But everyone who's infected is acting weird and swimming in a strange blue
virus pool. I was there when Len got infected, so I followed him, and he went right into that
pool for some reason.” Kaito told them.

“Hmm. That is strange.” Rui said.

“Oh, right.” Kaito added. “You guys are in the movie, Corrupted Songs. I brought you here
because we've been able to figure out that it's someone from your world who's doing this to
us. So we need you guys to stop them, since we can leave this world.”

“We're in a movie?!” Tsukasa exclaimed. “And why us?!”

“Because I trust you guys!” Kaito replied.

Rui turned towards Tsukasa. “Tsukasa, calm down. We haven't been able to enter the
Wonderland Sekai lately, and this is almost definitely why. We have to help them.”

Rui's voice was always calming to Tsukasa, and Rui was right. The virtual singers have done
so much for them, so it's only right to help them when they need it most. “Yes, we should.
We'll help fix this mess then, Kaito.”

“Great! Perhaps we should find Luka. She's probably the most knowledgeable about this
situation.”

“Lead the way.” Rui told Kaito.

“Okay! Follow me, and if you see Luka, don't hesitate to point her out.” Kaito instructed
them.
Chapter 5

Mizuki POV

Mizuki continued the search for Kaito, Rui, and Tsukasa with Luka. They'd been at it for a
while, calling out their names and hoping for a response.

“Rui! Tsukasa!” Mizuki shouted as they walked by another blue virus blob that seemed to
have something behind it. “Another blocked path?”

“This virus has completely changed how we navigate through here. I get lost if I'm not
careful. I can't imagine how Kaito must be feeling. He doesn't pay attention to directions.”
Luka answered.

Mizuki couldn't help but laugh a little at that. It sounded like his head was filled with only
helium by how Luka described him.

“LUKAAAAAAAAAAA!” Someone shouted. Mizuki recognized that voice anywhere.

“It's Tsukasa! They're over there!” Mizuki said excitedly. They started running, but stopped
when Luka shouted to be careful. They followed the sound of Tsukasa's insanely loud voice
until each group saw the other.

“Rui! Tsukasa!” Mizuki threw themself into a hug with the both of them. The relief they felt
was massive. Everything will be okay now that we're all together.

“Luka!” Kaito said happily.

“I thought you'd be lost forever.” Luka looked very relieved to see him.

“I'm glad you're okay, Mizuki.” Rui said.

“Me too. But am I the only one that's exhausted?” Tsukasa asked.

“No, I'm about to collapse.” Mizuki agreed.

“Kaito? Luka? Can we sleep now?” Tsukasa asked them.

Luka answered. “Yes, but you'll have to sleep on the floor. All our beds are covered with the
virus.”

“I saved a few pillows though!” Kaito said as he pulled exactly five of them out of his long
white coat. Mizuki wondered how he was keeping them there.

“Did you just pull those out of nowhere?” Mizuki asked.

“My coat is an infinite black hole of storage, so if you need somewhere to put your things, I'll
be waiting!” Kaito responded as if that was completely normal.
Mizuki, Rui, and Tsukasa just stared at him, speechless. They all decided it would be best to
not question it, and instead, gladly accepted the pillows.

Tsukasa POV

They got as comfortable as they could on the hard floor. It was a little weird going to sleep
without seeing the sky. But luckily, they could still see what time it was since all of them had
their phones. But there was obviously no wifi or service here, so they couldn't do anything
with them.

Tsukasa was having a hard time getting comfortable, this pillow just wasn't working for him.
Rui was right next to him, he looked to be asleep, but his back was facing Tsukasa so he
wasn't sure if he actually was. Luka and Kaito definitely were, and he could hear the gentle
snores of Mizuki.

Tsukasa sat up and took a peek at Rui's face. Rui turned to look up at him. Tsukasa whispered
to him. “You're not asleep?”

“I was about to be, but then I saw you looming over me.” Rui whispered back.

“Oh, sorry. I just couldn't fall asleep, I wondered if you were awake.” Tsukasa layed back
down. Rui turned over so they were both lying on their sides facing each other.

“It's okay. Is the hard floor bothering you?” Rui asked.

“A little.” Tsukasa admitted. “I just can't seem to get this pillow right.”

Silence stretched for about a minute until Rui whispered again. “You could… use me as a
pillow if you want. Like you were earlier watching the movie.”

Does he want me to do that again? Tsukasa could feel the blush creep onto his face. “But I
don't want to make you uncomfortable.”

“You won't. I'll be fine.”

Tsukasa shifted closer to Rui. He slowly lowered himself until his head was resting on Rui's
chest. He had to admit it was more comfortable than the pillow.

“You comfortable?” Rui asked.

“Yeah.” Tsukasa whispered back.

“Good.”

Mizuki POV

Mizuki woke up to an interesting sight. Tsukasa sleeping all cuddled up next to Rui? I have to
take a picture of this.

They grabbed their phone and quickly snapped a photo. Perfect.

Everyone else was still asleep, and looking at the time, it was only one in the morning.
They'd normally be on call with everyone else, but that obviously wasn't possible. They must
all be worried about me.

But there was nothing that Mizuki could do right now, so they went back to sleep.
Chapter 6

Rui POV

Rui woke up, and he checked the time on his phone. It was morning, and he seemed to be the
second one awake. Luka was already awake, probably letting everyone else get a good rest.
He wanted to get up too, but then he remembered. Oh, right. Tsukasa's still sleeping on me.

Rui started to play with Tsukasa's hair, since there was nothing else to do. He kept going until
Mizuki started to wake up. He took his hand out of Tsukasa's hair, worried that they'd see
them. But Tsukasa's already laying on me, so does it really matter?

Mizuki must have already seen anyway, because they were silently laughing to themselves.

Tsukasa POV

When Tsukasa woke up, Rui was playing with his hair, just like he was before. Except this
time, he ran all his fingers through his hair, and wasn't just messing with one piece like last
time. Tsukasa was probably the most relaxed he'd ever been in his life.

Suddenly, Rui stopped, and Tsukasa opened his eyes a little to see Mizuki waking up. Is that
why he stopped?

Then he saw Mizuki look over here and start laughing to themselves. Tsukasa got off of Rui,
and they both sat up.

“Did you sleep well?” Rui asked.

“Yeah. You're pretty comfortable.”

“If I'm that comfortable, you can sleep like that again, if you want.”

“Are you sure it didn't bother you?” Tsukasa asked. He's making it sound like he wants me to
lay on him.

“I didn't mind at all.” Tsukasa thought Rui looked like he was blushing, but he couldn't be
sure.

He felt kind of excited to go to sleep again. Excited? Do I really like him like that? I can't
keep denying it. I do like him. I like Rui.

Mizuki POV

I know Rui stopped playing with Tsukasa's hair because I woke up. Mizuki laughed to
themselves at how hopeless they both were, but they weren't about to let that slide.

“Rui! Can I talk to you? Over here?” Mizuki waved him over to them, away from where
Tsukasa was.
“What is it?” Rui asked.

“I know I make fun of you for liking Tsukasa, but you don't have to hide it. I already know
you do anyway.”

“What do you mean?”

“You know what I mean. You stopped touching Tsukasa's hair this morning because I woke
up. I have eyes, y'know.” Mizuki continued when Rui didn't answer. “I think you have a good
chance with him.”

“I don't know if I have a chance with him, but thanks, I guess.”

“You don't have to be embarrassed or anything.”

Rui sighed. “I know. I guess I just don't want people to know I like him. Because what if he
doesn't like me?”

“He totally does. Now let's go back to the others.”

Rui POV

Even just the thought of Tsukasa liking him back was enough to make him smile to himself.
But he had to be realistic. There's no certainty that he does, even though Mizuki seems to
think so.

Rui looked over to see Luka looking exasperated. Probably because of something Kaito did,
or said. She came walking over to them and started to announce the plan. “Me and Kaito have
come up with a plan.”

“That's right we did!” Kaito added.

“Despite how he might come off, Kaito actually came up with a possible solution. We're
going to head over to our control panel, and then send you guys out to remove whatever's
causing this virus. Hopefully there's no virus on our control panel yet, and it's still working.”
Luka explained.

“I think someone is downloading a virus. I was able to find the computer that's doing this
with the help of Luka, and Meiko before she got infected. So we need you guys to get out
there and stop the download before it's completed.” It was the most serious Kaito has
sounded since Rui met him.

“We can't waste any time. The virus is sure to infect the control panel soon enough, and if it's
not working, we can't bring you back here. Then you'll be stuck somewhere you're unfamiliar
with.” Luka told them.

Rui thought this was all starting to get very serious. If Kaito is serious, you know it's a big
deal. “Then let's get going.”

“Yes! Let's save Miku and the others, and put an end to this.” Mizuki said.
They began walking, with Luka and Kaito in the lead, Mizuki right next to them. Rui and
Tsukasa followed behind. Rui noticed Tsukasa hadn't said anything yet, which wasn't like
him. “Tsukasa? You okay?”

“I'm just fine, Rui!”

“That’s not very convincing.”

“What? I thought it was.”

“Hehe. You can't hide anything from me. Now tell me what's wrong.”

“I don't know… it's just… all becoming so serious. They're depending on us.” Tsukasa said,
looking at Luka and Kaito up ahead.

“Think about it this way. If we succeed, we'll all be heroes, which is kind of like being a star,
right?”

“I suppose you're right. But you're acting really calm. Isn't there anything bothering you?”
Tsukasa asked.

Rui knew he was acting more calm than he actually was. Of course he was scared, and
worried about everyone’s safety. He just didn't really know how to express it. “I’m worried
too, Tsukasa. I know I haven't expressed it much, but I am.”

“Well you can talk to me, I'm always here for you!” At Tsukasa's words, Rui realized he had
the full support of Tsukasa. He also knew he had Mizuki's support from their earlier
conversation, and maybe he should rely on them both more.

“Tsukasa?” Rui asked nervously.

“What is it, Rui?”

“Um… can… can I hug you?”

Tsukasa's face turned bright red. “Sure, if you want to.”

They stopped while the rest of the group continued walking without noticing them. Tsukasa
put his arms around Rui's waist, and Rui held him tightly. I guess I've wanted this more than I
realized.

Tsukasa POV

Tsukasa had his arms around Rui, and he breathed in Rui's comforting scent. To be honest, he
didn't want to let go. It was really nice, being held like this.

But they couldn't stay like this forever, as they didn't want to fall behind. They caught up with
the others, and there was no sign that any of them saw their hug.
Chapter 7
Chapter Notes

Currently in the IKEA as I post this. I apologize for Kaito's behavior in this chapter (he
gets a bit silly)

Kaito POV

When he arrived at the control panel, Kaito wasted no time. He entered the code he needed to
enter, being
397192703703701702748307297297407406196196306392691793794791797296302701793

963951841741714852852925925295239. It was a lot of trial and error to even figure it out in
the first place, but he was able to memorize it by heart easily enough.

“Rui, Tsukasa, Mizuki. Come here.” He instructed them. “I need you to put your hands here,
and then, you'll be taken to the real world. When you're there, find out the source of the
download and put a stop to it. Please, do your best.”

Kaito was completely serious. More serious than he's ever been in his whole life. This is no
time for jokes. I'll have time for that later.

Tsukasa POV

After hugging Rui, he felt a lot better, somehow. He was the first to put his hand down where
Kaito instructed them to, followed by Rui, then Mizuki. There wasn't a lot of space, so Rui's
hand was on top of his, and under Mizuki's.

They faded out of the virtual singer world, just like they faded into it. It was hard to keep
their balance with the way they were thrown into the real world. Tsukasa kept his balance,
probably because of all the stuff Rui puts him through. Rui managed to keep his balance too,
only because he grabbed onto Tsukasa's arm. Mizuki unfortunately just fell over and landed
on their backside.

“Get back.” Rui said suddenly. They all hid behind a nearby bookshelf. Mizuki was still
sitting on the floor and Rui had his arm across Tsukasa.

Mizuki stood up. “Was someone coming?”

“Yes, I saw someone walk by. We can't let them know we're here.” Rui answered.
“Really? I didn't see anyone.” Tsukasa said.

“We have to focus on why we're here. Let's look for a computer or laptop or something, and
see if anything's downloading.” Rui said.

“I think someone should keep watch so we don't get caught. I can do it.” Mizuki offered.

“Good idea. Me and Tsukasa can look around.” Rui turned to Tsukasa. “If you find anything,
tell me, but don't shout, you'll alert this entire building.”

“And probably the neighbors too.” Mizuki added.

“Hey!” Tsukasa crossed his arms in annoyance. Mizuki and Rui just giggled at him, then he
and Rui started to look for any kind of technology.

Mizuki POV

Perfect. I got Rui and Tsukasa alone together. Hehe. But now I have to seriously keep watch.

Luka POV

“Hehehehe.” Kaito laughed.

“What are you laughing at now? Don't you know those three are in real danger? You could at
least pretend to be worried.” Luka was getting tired of Kaito's existence. She wasn't sure how
Len or Meiko could stand him.

“Oh, sorry. I'm just having a wonderful idea.” Kaito replied.

“Dear god, help us.” Luka mumbled.

Kaito POV

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Kaito laughed inside his head. It was difficult to hold it

back. His ideas are so genius, he was starting to wonder why he didn't rule the entire world
yet.

Kaito took out some tools out of his infinite void coat storage, and began work. In just a few
minutes, he built a little machine to go inside his coat.

All he has to do is press a button, and the long part of his coat will slap the closest person. It's
perfect. Wow, I love being completely unhinged inside a Ruikasa fanfiction. This is so much
fun!

Luka POV

Luka watched as Kaito built a machine. At this point, she was starting to get used to the
weird things he was always doing.
“Lukaaaaa? Can you test this for meeee?” Kaito asked, and he made his eyes all big and
round, as if that would somehow make her more willing to help.

She sighed. “Fine.”

“Okay, just stand right there.” Then Kaito pushed the button and his coat slapped her. She
face planted on the floor.

“Ow! Why did you make that?” Kaito didn't answer her. “Are you actually on the phone right
now!? I thought there was no service here.”

“Shh. I'm trying to order.” Kaito said.

“Are you for real, bro?” Luka waited for Kaito to be finished.

He hung up the phone. “It should be here any moment.”

“What shou-” Luka started. Kaito's coat then lifted up to reveal a McDonald's employee
coming from the void he has in there.

“Here's your chicken snack wrap happy meal. Enjoy.” The employee said. “Oh, and Gakupo
ordered stuff earlier too.”

“Oh good! He's okay! Thanks bro.”

“No prob, Kaito.”

Chapter 8

Rui POV

Rui and Tsukasa split up to look for anything in the area. Then Tsukasa waved him over.
“Here's a laptop.”

Rui opened it and unfortunately, there was a number password. He tried combinations, but
none of them were working.

“Let me try.” Tsukasa said.

“If we try too many times, we could get locked out, so don't try it too much.” Rui told him.
Tsukasa hit a bunch of random numbers, and by some miracle, it actually worked.

“Wow, nice job, Tsukasa.”

“Hahahaha!” Tsukasa did his usual laugh. “It was no big deal.”

Rui looked around at the files on the laptop, and sure enough, there was a massive download
going. He was about to click cancel before he heard Mizuki yell.

“Guys, run!”

Rui quickly pressed cancel before running after Mizuki and Tsukasa. Thank goodness I
managed to cancel it.

Kaito POV

Kaito and Luka stood watching what Rui, Tsukasa, and Mizuki were doing. They had figured
out how to watch through the screen after Tsukasa had figured out the laptop password.

Kaito was getting very worried after the three of them had to run from some guy. He swore
he saw a gun in his hand too. “Luka, what do we do?”

“If we can project ourselves through the screen, and get them to notice us, we can make a
portal for them to come back here. Now that the download is canceled, we should have
enough power to do that.” Luka remained calm, while Kaito was panicking. But he was sure
Luka wasn't calm on the inside.

Kaito was determined to get the three of them to safety. “Okay, I'll figure out how to make
myself a hologram, and you can make the portal back.”

“Got it.” Luka answered.

After a few minutes of intense focus, Kaito figured it out. “Luka! I got it! Is your portal
ready?”
“Yes. Ready when you are.” She responded. At this moment, Kaito realized how lucky he
was to be working with Luka in a time like this.

“Alright, I'm heading out.”

Mizuki POV

The three of them hit a dead end in the maze of shelves that this room seemed to be. Oh no.

“How dare you break into my house?” The guy said. Mizuki thought he looked familiar. Wait,
is that the music store worker? No wonder he was so rude.

“Well how dare you ruin the lives of so many people.” Mizuki retorted.

“What are you talking about?” The guy asked.

“Don't pretend like you don't know. We're here to put a stop to this.” Rui told him. He was
always so good with words.

While Rui continued talking calmly to the guy, Tsukasa nudged Mizuki from beside them.
Their eyes widened at the sight of Kaito waving for them to go over there.

Mizuki glanced at the gun in the guy's hand that was currently pointing at Rui, and knew
what had to be done. They whispered to Tsukasa. “Take Rui and get over to Kaito. Now.”

They leaped forward and grabbed the gun. They shoved it in the pocket of their cute dress.
Out of the corner of their eye, they saw Tsukasa dragging Rui over to where Kaito was on the
laptop. Mizuki made a run for it, but the guy grabbed their arm before they could reach the
laptop.

Rui and Tsukasa faded out into what looked to be a portal back to the virtual singer world.
Mizuki wanted to go back too, but the guy was trying to grab the pocket that the gun was in.

Mizuki strained to reach the laptop and managed to close it. Then they quickly grabbed the
gun out of their pocket with their other hand, and pulled the trigger.

The guy fell in front of them, and the blood pooled into the expensive looking carpet. Mizuki
heard the voices of panicked people. They definitely heard that gun shot. I have to get out of
here.

They put the gun back in their pocket so no one would find it. They hid behind bookshelf
after bookshelf, hoping to not make a sound. I really hope there's no security cameras.

Tsukasa POV

“Security cameras disabled, and all footage with you guys in it are deleted.” Kaito
announced.

“Good.” Tsukasa breathed a sigh of relief. The second he got back, he could already see the
blue virus blobs shrinking and fading away. Everything was returning to normal again, and
he'd be able to go home soon.

“I hope Mizuki will be alright.” Rui said, a very worried expression on his face.

“From what we saw in the cameras, Mizuki made it off the property. We just need them to
turn their phone on. Then we can make a portal for them.” Luka answered.

“Okay…” Rui looked miserable. Tsukasa wanted to comfort him somehow.

“Just wait here while me and Kaito work to get them back. That's our priority, then we can
check on the others who were infected.” Luka assured him.

“And I'm sure Gakupo will make sure the others are okay!” Kaito added. Rui nodded in
response.

“I'm sure Mizuki will be just fine.” Tsukasa tried to reassure Rui.

“I know. It's just that they could have died for us. I don't think I could have lived with myself
if that happened.” Rui replied.

“It's like when I was hurt practicing for the Halloween show. It wasn't your fault I was hurt,
and it's not your fault that Mizuki isn't back here.”

“I guess… but I don't think I was very helpful. You could have easily done it without me.”

“You talked to that guy, and distracted him long enough so I could show Mizuki where Kaito
was. I couldn't have done that without you.”

“I suppose…”

Tsukasa softened his voice. “Rui, when we first got here, I was frustrated. But you held my
hand and calmed me down. And you even let me sleep on you last night. So even if you had
done nothing to help out there, I wouldn't have been able to do this without you.”

“Oh? Tsukasa's being all heartfelt?” Rui teased.

“Hey! I meant it y'know!”

Before Rui could respond, Tsukasa felt something hit him hard from behind. He fell forward
with his face ending up buried in Rui's chest. Rui caught him and had his arms wrapped
around Tsukasa.

“Now you're trying to hug me too? I never knew you could be so affectionate!” Rui teased
him again.

“No, something hit me!” Tsukasa exclaimed.

“I believe that was Kaito's coat.”

“My coat? I'm sorry, I didn't realize.” Kaito apologized.

“Why are you standing there listening to us?” Tsukasa asked.

“Oh, um… I wasn't. I just heard my name. I'll go now.” Then Kaito walked off.

“That guy…” Tsukasa mumbled.

Rui POV

“Tsukasa? Did you really mean what you said?” Rui said, as he and Tsukasa both sat down
on the nearby couch. It wasn't covered in the virus anymore, and that meant that the beds are
probably okay to sleep on now too. Everything really was going back to normal.

“Of course I did, why?” Tsukasa asked.

“I just didn't realize I was so calming to

you.”

Tsukasa blushed. “Um, well, yeah, you are.”

“What's this? Tsukasa's blushing?” Rui couldn't miss another opportunity to tease him.

“No I'm not!”

“You're so cute when you blush.” Did I actually just call him cute right to his face?

Tsukasa’s blush deepened. “I am not cute!”

“Whatever you say.” Rui decided to continue messing with him, so he hugged Tsukasa’s
waist. “but you definitely are. You're so short and small.”

“Hey, let go of me! I'm not that short!” He insisted.

Rui let go of him, and they laughed together and continued talking for a little while. It was
the happiest he's felt since being in the strange virtual singer world.

It was taking Luka and Kaito a long time to reach Mizuki, but they said it was just because
Mizuki needed to turn their phone on and be in a place where no one would see. They could
all be rest assured that Mizuki was completely safe.

Rui and Tsukasa fell into a comfortable silence. He was starting to feel sleepy, and could
barely keep his eyes open. They were sitting on opposite ends of the couch, and Rui felt
ridiculous for already wanting to be closer to Tsukasa again.

But he didn't have to wait long before Tsukasa shifted to the other end of the couch until he
was pressed against Rui.

“Why so close, Tsukasa?” Rui asked, as if he wasn't super happy he did that.

“You look like you need a pillow, so I'm here to be one for you!” Tsukasa said.
“Oh, I'll take you up on that offer then.” Rui said as he put his head on Tsukasa's shoulder.
Tsukasa's so comfortable, and he makes me feel so comfortable too. Is there a chance he
could like me back?

Tsukasa POV

Rui was completely asleep now. Tsukasa wasn't feeling that sleepy himself though, so
instead, he took Rui's hand and ran his thumb along the back of it for a while. Then he lightly
ran all his fingers down the back of his hand, but when he did that, Rui jerked his hand away.

“Hehe. Sorry, Tsukasa, that tickled.” Rui said as he put his hand back.

Tsukasa was so focused on what he was doing, that he didn't even realize he was doing it.
And even worse, Rui was awake when he was doing it. This is just embarrassing. Maybe I
am tired. “Oh, I didn't know you were awake.”

“I might be awake, but you look tired.” Rui stated.

“I'm not tired.” That was in fact a lie.

“Yes you are.”

“Okay, I am.” Tsukasa had to admit to himself that he liked it when Rui wrapped his arms
around his waist earlier. He looked at Rui. What if I put my arms around him? If I liked it,
would he like it too?

Tsukasa put his arms around Rui's waist from the side, and rested his head on him. Rui
naturally put his arm around Tsukasa's shoulders. I wish I could stay like this forever. I hope
he doesn't think this is weird.

Rui spoke softly. “Whatever you were doing with my hand, it was nice.”

“It was?” Tsukasa was surprised to hear that.

“Yeah. Now get some rest.” Rui said, as he took Tsukasa's hand and started doing the same
thing Tsukasa did. It didn't take long for Tsukasa to fall asleep after that.
Chapter 9

Mizuki POV

Mizuki knew they should get to a place where no one could see them. That way, Kaito and
Luka would open a portal through their phone. Luka explained how the portals worked when
they were searching for Kaito. She was probably annoyed at how many questions Mizuki was
asking, but it was too interesting to not ask about.

Unfortunately for Luka and Kaito, Mizuki was getting distracted by the small town that
wasn't too far from the building they escaped from. It had so many cute shops that Mizuki
couldn't help but go into them all. Oh, what's this? A bakery specializing in cheesecake? Is
that Akito in there?

Mizuki entered the bakery. “Lil Bro, oh my gosh, hiiiiiii.”

“Ugh. Why are you here?” Akito looked embarrassed. He was carrying a lot of cheesecake
boxes.

“Are you gonna eat all that?” Mizuki asked.

“No, some of it's for Ena.”

“Aww, what about me?”

“No.”

“You're no fun.” Mizuki saw he had cookie boxes too, which he didn't usually get. “You have
cookies too?”

“Yeah, so?”

“Ohhhh, I see. Those are for your boyfriend.”

“What? What boyfriend?” Akito's face went beet red.

“Your blushing so much, Lil Bro has a crush on Toya!”

“Shut up.”

“Please, everyone knows you two like each other. When are you gonna ask him out?”

“I already did, now be quiet.”

“YOU DID!?”

“SHUSH! What are you even doing in this town?”

Well, I can't tell him I just shot someone. “For all the cute shops, of course! Why are you
here, Lil Bro?”

“Why do you think?” Akito said, holding out his cheesecake boxes.

“Cheesecake addiction.”

“Exactly. I gotta go now, see ya.” Akito said, walking towards the bakery doors.

“Bye, Lil Bro!” Mizuki waved. Then they look at the selection of desserts. I might just buy a
cake while I'm here. I wonder if Luka and Kaito like cake. I know Kaito likes ice cream…

Rui POV

Kaito came over to him and Tsukasa, clearly wanting to say something. Tsukasa was still
asleep, and Kaito seemed to realize this, and he looked very pleased. “Am I interrupting
something?”

“No.” Rui frowned at him, then turned his attention to Tsukasa. “Tsukasa, get up. Kaito wants
to talk to us.”

Instead of getting up, he snuggled even closer to Rui. “Five more minutes…”

Rui's face went red, and he saw a flash out of the corner of his eye. Kaito was looking even
happier now.

“Did you just take a picture?” He asked Kaito.

“Huh? No…” Kaito said.

“I saw the flash of the camera.”

“Well it's not my fault it's dark in here. I didn't take any pictures anyway.”

“Sure.” Rui knew he definitely did, but there was no point in arguing with him. But he had to
wonder, what's he even gonna do with that picture? “Tsukasa, you have to get up.”

“Alright…” Tsukasa got up, and stretched. He sounded fully awake now. “What did you need
Kaito?”

“Mizuki's back! And there's an ice cream cake! My favorite kind of cake! Come and get
some!” Kaito ran back to where Mizuki and Luka must be. Rui and Tsukasa followed Kaito,
and there they were, eating cake.

“I'm glad you're okay, Mizuki.” Rui said.

“Thanks, but I did get a bit distracted as you can tell with this cake. Have some already.”
Mizuki replied, while handing Rui and Tsukasa a slice each.
When they were finished enjoying the cake, Kaito put the rest of it into his infinite void coat.
Mizuki said he could take the rest of it to share with all the other virtual singers. Which is
what they were going to do now, find the virtual singers. On the way, they stopped at a big
stage.

“My stage! It's okay!” Luka exclaimed. She ran over to the stage, and immediately started
singing Barbie Girl.

“Come on, Luka, get off the stage.” Kaito said, oddly in time with the music. They kept
going for an entire song's length.

Luka's song ended, and Kaito did not look impressed by her performance. Rui, Tsukasa, and
Mizuki just glanced at each other. Best to not question that song.

They continued to head in the direction of the other virtual singers like nothing had
happened, and it wasn't too much longer until they found them.

“It's Kaito!” Len shouted.

“Yay! Len!” Kaito picked him up and flipped him upside down, and Len couldn't stop
laughing.

Miku, Rin, and Meiko came over to thank Luka, Rui, Tsukasa, and Mizuki.

“Are you guys the heros?” Rin asked.

“Yes, they are.” Luka replied.

“You guys are so awesome! That virus was no fun… but it's gone now thanks to you!” Rin
was bouncing with happiness.

“Hahahaha! It was no big deal!” Tsukasa said. He was clearly enjoying the praise. When she
was finished with her thanks, Rin ran over to where Len and Kaito were.

“My turn!” She demanded. Kaito put Len down and scooped her up next. She was laughing
just as much, if not more, than Len was. It filled Rui with joy to know he played a part in
putting a huge smile on all their faces.

Meiko was looking at them fondly as well. Then it was Miku who spoke. “Thank you guys,
truly. You see, it was my fault this happened. I'd figured out how to project myself like a
hologram into the real world. I wasn't careful enough, and the guy who did this saw me.
That's why he did it in the first place.”

Rui didn't really understand. “If he saw you were real, why would he try to hurt you?”

“I guess some people are just like that. Maybe it was some kind AI fear? I don't know, but I'm
really sorry for causing this mess. You three have done something that requires more thanks
than I can put into words.” Miku replied.
“You guys have so much for me, I couldn't say no to Luka when she asked.” Mizuki blushed
out of embarrassment.

“We couldn't refuse someone who needed help.” Tsukasa said. Rui looked at Tsukasa, and
shockingly, he was slightly blushing too. I guess even Tsukasa gets embarrassed sometimes.

“I'm so happy we were able to help.” Rui added.

Miku smiled. “How about we send you guys home now? I'm sure you want to get back.”

“Wait!” Mizuki said. “There's something I want to show Kaito first.”

They skipped over to where Kaito, Len, and Rin were. They all started giggling. Kaito pulled
out a camera, and Rui had a sneaking suspicion on what they were looking at. He snuck up
behind them. “Really?”

The four of them jumped back, and Rui stared at them with his arms crossed. Then Kaito
spoke. “Aren’t Mizuki and I great photographers?”

Then the four of them started laughing. It wasn't very amusing to Rui, though, but he couldn't
help but feel a smile tug at his lips. He was happy to see that everyone else was happy now
that the virus is officially gone. I'll let Mizuki have this one.

Chapter Notes

I forgot to update this yesterday oops so you all get two chapters today

Tsukasa POV

Tsukasa was at Rui's house after school. They were sitting on his bed, and this time, there
wasn't robot parts all over it. They had all come home just a few days ago, and more than
ever, he wanted to spend time with Rui.

Tsukasa just remembered something that happened before they left the virtual singer world.
“Hey, Rui. What was Mizuki laughing at with Kaito, Len and Rin before we left them?”

“Oh, uh… nothing.” Rui answered.

“Come on, tell me.” Tsukasa really wanted to know.

“Just… a picture.”

“What picture?”

“A picture that Kaito took.”

“Stop being secretive. What was in it?”

“Us.” Rui's face was turning red.

Tsukasa was confused. “What were we doing?”

“Cuddling… on the couch.”

Tsukasa was no longer confused, and he could feel heat rising into his cheeks. “Why did they
take pictures of us?!”

“I think Mizuki and Kaito want us to date or something.”

“WHAT?!” Tsukasa screamed. “Well they'd be right!”

Rui just stared at him, then Tsukasa realized what he just said. “WRONG! I MEANT
WRONG!” What's wrong with me?

Rui POV
Another wonderful opportunity to tease Tsukasa was just gifted to Rui. But he was so
flustered, he couldn't get the words out right away. So they sat in silence for a minute until
Rui spoke. “I didn't know you liked men, Tsukasa.”

“Shut up.” He mumbled back. “So what if I do?”

“Well, nothing, if you're being serious.” Rui replied.

“I am serious.”

“Then that's perfectly fine. I mean, I do too.”

“You do?”

“Yeah. Anyway, what do you want to do? You've been coming over so much lately we're
running out of ideas.” Rui asked him.

“Is it weird that I kind of… want to hug you again?” Tsukasa asked. Rui wanted to hug him
again too. The hug in the virtual singer world was the best he'd ever had.

“No, it's not weird.” Rui said as he stood up. Tsukasa stood up too, but instead of properly
hugging him, Rui picked him up and spun him around.

“Wait! Rui! Stop it!” Tsukasa exclaimed. Rui did not stop, and he couldn't stop himself from
giggling the whole time.

“Rui!” Tsukasa sounded like he was holding back laughter now. Rui slowed down until he
stopped spinning, and put Tsukasa back down.

They were both dizzy, and it was hard for Rui to keep his balance. He soon found himself
right in Tsukasa's arms. He caught him before he fell over.

“Hehe, thanks, Tsukasa. I can stand up now.” But he sort of didn't want to, because he liked
Tsukasa holding him.

He stood up anyway, and his dizziness faded. But before he could do anything, Tsukasa was
already hugging him. Rui hugged him back. Properly this time.

“I really want to stay like this forever.” Tsukasa said.

Rui's face filled with heat. “Me too.”

They broke their hug, but Rui had a better idea. He was kind of nervous though. He laid
down on his bed, leaving enough space for Tsukasa to go beside him. Would he think I'm
weird if I tried to cuddle him?

“Lay down beside me.” He told Tsukasa, and he did just that. But he needed to be on his side,
facing away from Rui. Rui instructed him again. “Turn that way.”
When he did, Rui put his arm over Tsukasa's waist, and to his surprise, Tsukasa leaned into it.
Rui held him as close as he could. And somewhere along the way, he fell asleep with Tsukasa
still in his arms.

Tsukasa POV

Tsukasa tried to get Rui's attention, but it wasn't working. He wanted to ask how long they
were gonna stay like this. He liked being held by Rui, but it was starting to feel like a really
long time. He wondered if Rui had fallen asleep.

He carefully slid out of Rui's arms, and turned over to see that he was in fact asleep. He put a
hand on Rui's cheek, and then moved the hair out of his eyes. I have to tell him I like him
soon.

Rui started to wake up, and they both sat up to sit on the edge of his bed. “Sorry, I didn't
mean to fall asleep on you.”

“It's okay.” Tsukasa told him.

“But why were you touching my face so much?” Rui asked. Was he not asleep when I did
that?

Tsukasa was getting embarrassed now. “Were you fake sleeping?”

“Maybe. Not the whole time though.” Rui answered.

He was less embarrassed now that he knew Rui was faking it. “Oh, so you liked my hand
there? That's why you didn't wake up?”

“Perhaps.”

“Fine. I'll let you have it back.” Tsukasa put his hand back on Rui's cheek. It made Rui
naturally turn his head towards him, and Tsukasa could feel Rui's face heating up. He dared a
glance at Rui's lips. I don't want to kiss him, do I? Yeah I totally do.

Their faces were only inches apart. Rui leaned slightly closer, and Tsukasa closed the gap so
their lips could meet. It was a great feeling, sort of like fireworks exploding in his chest.

Rui POV

It was only a short kiss, but Rui wanted to do it again. I can't believe we just kissed.

“Tsukasa. I have something to tell you.” Rui started.

“So do I.” He answered.

“You first.”

“No, you spoke first.” Tsukasa insisted. Rui decided it wasn't worth it to go back and forth.
“Fine. I really like you. Like, I have a crush on you, and I love you.” Rui said quietly, and he
couldn't meet Tsukasa's gaze. They were both silent for a few moments.

“That’s what I was going to say to you.” Tsukasa told him. “I love you too, Rui.”

“Do… Do you want to be my boyfriend?” Rui asked him.

“Yes.” Tsukasa said as he put his head on Rui's shoulder.

“It looks like Kaito and Mizuki were right. Now I have the best boyfriend I could ever ask
for.” He told Tsukasa.

Then Tsukasa moved his head off Rui's shoulder, and their lips met once more. This time, it
lasted much longer. His lips are so soft. And they taste like strawberries? What kind of lip
balm does he use?

Tsukasa pulled away. “The best boyfriend you could ask for? You really think that?”

“Of course I do. You've changed my life in the best ways possible. I think I could marry you
one day.” Rui fully believed that.

“Rui, we just started dating two minutes ago.”

“I know, but still.” Rui said. “I like the lip balm you're using, by the way.”

“You tasted it?!” Tsukasa asked.

“Hehe.”

“What flavor was it?” He quizzed Rui.

“Strawberry.”

“Yeah, and yours is blueberry.” Tsukasa said. Rui completely forgot he put lip balm on.

“Whatever.” Rui was getting embarrassed, so he changed the subject. He stood up to get his
glitter shooting robot. “I've got a fun idea of what we can do together.”
Chapter 11

Tsukasa POV

Tsukasa watched as Rui picked up his robot, still looking embarrassed. He's cute when he's
like that.

“Let's go ruin someone's day.” Rui said, with that usual evil grin on his face. Normally,
Tsukasa wouldn't want to do anything if Rui was making that face. But this time he did, since
he wasn't going to be the victim.

“Hahahaha! Yes!” Tsukasa was excited about this. He took Rui's hand, and Rui led him
outside.

“Do you think he's there today?” Rui asked.

“Or course he will be.” Tsukasa replied with full confidence. “That guy has an unhealthy
cheesecake addiction.”

They hid behind the street corner where the bakery was. They peered through the window to
see if Akito was inside. Sure enough he was. Toya was with him, along with An and Kohane.

“Mizuki told me that Akito and Toya are dating.” Rui stated as they watched Akito shift
closer to Toya.

“What?! Why didn't you tell me sooner?!” Tsukasa had a hunch that Toya might have liked
Akito by the way he talked about him, but he didn't know they were already dating.

Rui put his hand under Tsukasa's chin. “I'd been so distracted by you, it slipped my mind.”

Tsukasa blushed, and he attempted to change the subject. “Are you gonna shoot him with the
glitter or not?”

“Whatever you want, my star.”

“My star?”

“Are you not my star?” Rui put on his sad face.

“Yes, I am your star. Forever and always.” Tsukasa told him as he briefly hugged Rui. Rui's
face turned a bright shade of red.

Kaito POV

Kaito decided to check in on Rui and Tsukasa. He wondered if they were dating yet. I can't
let my hard work go to waste!
Rui didn't have his phone out. But Kaito could tell they weren't in an area where others would
see them. In fact, it looked like they were hiding. He overheard them speaking.

“Are you gonna shoot him with the glitter or not?” shooting glitter? That sounds fun!

“Whatever you want, my star.” Oh?

“My star?”

“Are you not my star?”

“Yes, I am your star. Forever and always.” Kaito just about exploded from happiness. That's
so cute! I knew they'd be a perfect couple.

Kaito discovered how to make phones vibrate not too long ago. That would have been helpful
for bringing Mizuki back sooner, but he only just discovered this. Ever since the three of
them left, Kaito had been working hard on discovering more of these kinds of things.

He made Rui's phone vibrate wildly so he'd be alerted.

Rui POV

Forever and always.

Those words would be in Rui's head for a long time. But before he could respond, his phone
vibrated. A lot more than usual.

He pulled it out of his pocket, and Kaito popped out of the screen. And it wasn't the
Wonderland Sekai one. “Hi Rui!”

“Kaito? What are you doing?” Rui asked him.

“Sorry, I couldn't help but overhear. You guys are such a great couple!” Kaito responded
happily.

“Why are you listening to us?! I didn't even know you still could after we left!” Tsukasa said.

Rui gave up on questioning Kaito's antics a long time ago. Instead, he answered Kaito
honestly. “Yes, I'm very happy with Tsukasa.”

“That's so great!” Kaito exclaimed. “Oh, but I should go back soon before someone notices
I'm gone. I did check on Mizuki earlier though, and no one noticed, so I'm probably fine.”

“Well then, if you have the time, do you want to see something cool?” Rui asked.

“Yes, please! I've got my clone working for me right now. That will hold off any suspicion
that I'm gone for a little while.”

“You have a clone?!” Tsukasa shouted, then he covered his mouth when he realized he
shouldn't be so loud. Luckily, no one noticed.
“Of course I do!” Kaito answered like that was normal.

“Do you see Akito there? He's the ginger.” Rui began. Kaito nodded. “I'm going to control
this little robot here, and then I'll get it to shoot glitter at him.”

“Awesome! I can't wait!” Kaito exclaimed.

“Yes, let's do it!” Tsukasa added.

The three of them watched as Rui controlled the robot. Luckily, the door to the bakery was
being held open by a door stop, so they didn't have to go inside. The robot was small enough
that no one would even notice it if they weren't really paying attention.

Rui saw Kohane sipping her drink. Her eyes were following the robot rolling on the floor
next to their table. Thankfully, she didn't say anything, and Rui lined up his shot. He hit the
button, and pink glitter shot directly at Akito's face.

“Haha. That was great, Rui!” Kaito told him.

“That was amazing!” Tsukasa agreed. “I'm going in there.”

Rui watched Tsukasa run into the bakery. It made Rui very happy to see Tsukasa’s face light
up so much. Even if it was at the expense of Akito.

“I think I'll be going now.” Kaito said. “I’ll see you soon.”

“See you.” Once Kaito disappeared, Rui went to catch up to Tsukasa who was already talking
to Akito and the others.

Tsukasa POV

“Hahahaha! How does the glitter taste, Akito?” Tsukasa asked.

Akito glared at him. “Of course you're behind this.”

“Haha! That was a good one!” An was laughing loudly. Kohane was laughing too, but she
was much quieter about it.

“I think the sparkles suit you.” Toya told Akito, holding back a laugh.

“Go ahead and laugh, Toya.” Akito said. Then Tsukasa saw Rui walk up beside him. He knelt
down to pick up the robot.

“Oh my, that's quite the fashion statement.” Rui said to Akito. An’s laughing got louder.

“Can you shut up, An?” Akito frowned at her.

“Would you like us to get the glitter off of you?” Rui asked Akito. Tsukasa wondered what he
had in mind to get it off.
“Yes.” Akito replied. But he looked suspicious. Tsukasa probably would be too. You never
know what Rui's going to do.

“Then follow us.” Rui told him. Tsukasa saw Rui's usual evil grin. “I know just what will
work.”

“Yeah, you go with them.” An said. “Me and Kohane have a date!”

“We do?” Kohane asked.

“Of course we do!” An replied.

“Come on, Akito.” Toya encouraged him. Akito sighed and reluctantly followed.

“Bye guys!” An waved.

Rui linked his arm with Tsukasa's, and they walked ahead with Akito and Toya following
behind. Tsukasa wondered where they were going, and what they were gonna do.

He nudged Rui. “Where are we going?”

“Back to my house. I've got a modified leaf blower that I'd like to test out on him.”

“You're gonna blow the glitter off? And what kind of modifications?” Tsukasa asked.

“It's stronger than a regular one, and snow can come out of it.”

“Why didn't you use that on me before?”

“The last time I tested it, it caught on fire.”

“Wha-?!”

Rui cut him off. “It’s fine now though, I fixed it.”

“But were you okay?” Tsukasa was worried for him. Especially now that they're dating. Rui
was always doing crazy stuff, how could he not worry?

“Nothing bad happened to me. Thanks for worrying about me, though.” Rui said as he kissed
Tsukasa on the lips.

“Disgusting!” Akito shouted from behind. But Tsukasa and Rui didn't care. They kissed
again, and laughed at Akito's reaction.

Rui POV

“Okay, so just stand right there.” Rui instructed Akito. Then he turned his modified leaf
blower on. The gust of wind it created was so powerful, it looked like Akito was on a roller
coaster.
After a minute, Rui shut it off, and there was no glitter to be found anywhere on him. “All
done.”

“Wow, that worked really well!” Tsukasa said.

“I told you it wouldn't be so bad.” Toya told Akito.

“I guess. But my hair is all messed up.” Akito replied.

“Your hair always looks good. You look good no matter what.” Toya fixed Akito's hair a
little. Akito's only response was blushing at Toya's statement. Then they shared a kiss.

Rui and Tsukasa looked at each other, then Tsukasa spoke. “We'll leave you two to make out
then.”

“Have fun!” Rui added.

“We're not making out.” Akito said as he took Toya's hand. “Come on, Toya. We should go
practice.”

Akito dragged him away, and Toya waved at Tsukasa and Rui.

“See you!” Tsukasa shouted while he and Rui waved back to Toya.

Mizuki POV

Not too long ago, Mizuki had admitted to Kaito that they liked Ena. They asked him for some
advice, but all he really said was to just confess to her. He seemed convinced that Ena felt the
same.

Even though his advice was nothing life-changing, he gave Mizuki the confidence to confess.
He was right, and it ended up working out. Mizuki couldn't be happier with their new
girlfriend.

“Mizuki! It's me again!” Kaito said as he popped out of their phone. He didn't give much
warning. Their phone was probably vibrating for less than half a second.

Mizuki jumped. “Kaito! You scared me! What's up?”

“How'd it go with Ena?” He asked.

Mizuki let out a big smile. “We’re dating now!”

“Awesome!” Kaito looked pleased.

Rui POV

A few weeks had gone by. Rui was awake late tonight. For some reason, he just couldn't
sleep. The last few weeks had been some of his best though. Nothing could make him happier
than being with Tsukasa.

Rui picked up his phone and it immediately started vibrating. It was Kaito, and Rui just about
jumped out of his skin. “Rui! You're still awake? Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Maybe
I should give longer warnings.”

“It's alright, I just couldn't sleep. What are you doing on my phone again?” Kaito hadn't been
on Rui's phone in a while, so he wondered why he was here tonight.

“Well, I like to check in on you guys every now and then. I just wanted to say I'm really glad
you and Tsukasa have each other.” Kaito replied. Something about the way he sounded made
Rui feel kind of emotional. Kaito seemed to really care about their relationship.

“So am I.” Rui felt something in his eyes. Tears?

“Make sure you invite me to your wedding, okay?” Kaito said.

“Okay.” Rui choked out. It was hard to talk while crying. He wiped the tears out of his eyes.
“Sorry, I-”

“Don’t apologize. You don't have to hide your emotions. Those tears of joy mean you're truly
happy with Tsukasa, and I know he feels the same.”

“Thanks, Kaito.”

“You’re welcome, Rui. I think you should get some sleep now though.”

“Yeah, you're right.”

“Talk to you soon!” Kaito said as he disappeared back into the phone. Even though Kaito can
come off as unserious and annoying to some, he really cares.

Tsukasa POV

It was the day of Tsukasa and Rui's wedding. Was this going to be the best day of Tsukasa's
life? Probably. No, definitely. They were reaching the end of the ceremony now, and they
finished it off with a kiss.

Tsukasa could see the water forming in Rui's eyes, and he couldn't be more filled with love
for him. Rui's the perfect person to spend the rest of my life with. I couldn't ask for a better
husband.

Rui POV

Rui knew from the moment he and Tsukasa started dating, that he was the one. The one he
always wanted to spend time with. The one who brought endless joy into his life. The one he
loves more than anything.

From the way Tsukasa looked at him, Rui could tell he felt the same way. He could see the
tears forming in Tsukasa's eyes, and Rui knew his eyes probably looked the same. How did I
get so lucky?

Tsukasa POV

Earlier, Tsukasa had walked around and talked to all the wedding guests. Of course, Saki and
the rest of Leo/Need was here. She had begged her bandmates to put on a performance
specially for the wedding.

All of MORE MORE JUMP! was here as well, and when Shizuku found out that Leo/Need
was going to perform, she had insisted that her group should put on a performance too.

Unfortunately, An and Kohane were busy with other performances today, but they both gave
wedding gifts. Akito and Toya were here though, and Toya looked especially happy. Tsukasa
was honestly surprised Akito even attended, but he was grateful anyway.

Tsukasa was now looking for Rui. He spotted him talking to Mizuki, and he made his way
over to him.
Rui POV

“Rui! That was such a wonderhoy wedding!” Emu exclaimed.

“Yeah, I'm happy for you.” Nene smiled.

Rui smiled back at them. “Thanks, guys.”

“Rui!” Mizuki called. Rui said goodbye to Emu and Nene, and went to see what Mizuki
wanted. “It seems I was right about you having a crush on Tsukasa all those years ago. Me
and Kaito knew what was up.”

“Okay okay, you and Kaito were right. I had a crush on him.” Rui admitted. There was no
point in denying it when they were literally married. “Is that all you wanted to say?”

“No, I was going to congratulate you too.”

Mizuki pretended to be offended. “Speaking of Kaito though, I wonder how he's doing?”

“Thinking about it… he did say he wanted to be invited to our wedding.” Rui answered.

“How are we supposed to tell him it's happening right now? We can't contact him like he can
with us.” Mizuki asked.

“There you are!” Tsukasa took Rui's hand. “Whatcha guys talking about?”

“We were just wondering how Kaito's been doing. Luka, and the rest of the virtual singers
too.” Rui told him.

“Oh! That's right! You told me Kaito wanted an invitation to our wedding. Was he serious
about that?” Tsukasa asked.

“Knowing Kaito, yes.” Rui replied.

“He probably knew you'd get married from the start. He somehow knows when people love
each other.” Mizuki added.

Their words got Rui thinking. He knows when people love each other…? Can he sense strong
feelings?

“Hmm…” Rui started.

“What is it, Rui?” Tsukasa asked.

“I'm starting to think that maybe Kaito can sense feelings. Strong ones, like love. Whether it's
romantic or platonic.” Rui explained.

“So you're saying if we just hope hard enough, Kaito will appear?” Mizuki questioned.

“Well… yeah.” Rui answered.

“Aren't we already doing that though? We all want to see Kaito again, so he should already
be sensing it.” Tsukasa said.

“Right… so then we need to be somewhere private. That's what I had to do before I could go
back to the virtual singer world, remember?” Mizuki said.

“Then let's do that.” Rui decided. He led the way, still holding Tsukasa's hand, and they went
into Rui's dressing room. “All we have to do is wait now, I suppose.”

It didn't take much waiting. Not even a minute had gone by before Rui's phone started
vibrating. Then Kaito appeared. “Hi guys! I was waiting for you! Congratulations!”

“Kaito!” The three of them said in unison.

Kaito looked surprised. “I didn't know you guys were that happy to see me.”

“Of course we are!” Tsukasa exclaimed.

Then Mizuki's phone started vibrating too. “Luka? You're here as well?”

“Hopefully no one notices I'm gone, but Rui and Tsukasa just got married. Of course I'm
going to be here.” Luka answered Mizuki.

After she spoke, her and Kaito's holograms began to grow to the size of an actual human.
Mizuki and Rui put their phones down on the floor. Everyone in the room looked confused.
They didn't know why this was happening.

Rui watched as the hologram particles floating around Luka and Kaito seemed to fade away.
They both became less transparent, and it was almost as if they were becoming real. Wait…
are they real?

Rui reached out to grab Kaito's arm, and sure enough, it didn't pass through him like it would
if he was still a hologram.

“I'm… real?” Kaito examined the arm Rui was holding.

“How…?” Luka stretched her hands out in front of her.

Mizuki took Luka’s hands. “You're real? How's that possible?”

“The power of love and friendship really can do some crazy stuff.” Kaito said.

“What do you mean?” Mizuki asked.

“I think we're able to stand here because of how much you want us to be here.” Kaito
explained.

“Our feelings made you stop being a hologram?” Rui asked.

“Exactly! Now come here!” Kaito invited them. Rui, Tsukasa, and Mizuki gathered around
Kaito, and then he took out his camera to get a selfie of the four of them.

“Luka, get in here!” Mizuki said. It looked like Luka was about to protest, but Mizuki
dragged her in before she could say anything.

Kaito printed the pictures, and handed them to Rui. He was surprised at how nice the pictures
were.

Then Luka and Kaito both returned to their hologram forms. It was like they became real just
to take those pictures with them. So they could always remember the time they spent
together.

Rui looked at the pictures again. I'll treasure these forever.

Tsukasa POV

It was two days after the wedding. Tsukasa woke up in bed right next to Rui, as usual. Rui
was already awake and scrolling through his phone.

“Good morning, sleepyhead.” Rui said.

Tsukasa put his head on Rui's shoulder. “Do you know what I think?”

“What do you think?” Rui answered.

“You're the best husband I could ever ask for.” Tsukasa replied. Then he kissed Rui. Tsukasa
could never get tired of the way Rui held his waist when they kissed.

“The best husband you could ask for? You really think that?” Rui asked.

“Of course I do. You've changed my life in the best ways possible. I want to spend the rest of
my life with you.” Tsukasa meant every word.

“Tsukasa, we just got married two days ago.”

“I know, but still.” Tsukasa was happy that Rui remembered the conversation they had right
after they started dating.

“I love you, Rui.” Tsukasa told him.

“I love you more, Tsukasa.” Rui replied.

“No, I love you more.” Tsukasa insisted, and before Rui could reply, he kissed him again.
