You are on page 1/ 3

Good morning, guys!

On behalf of my group, Allow me to extend a

warm welcome to all of you here/ welcome all of you gathered here.
First, let me introduce myself. For those of you who don’t know me, my
name’s Bùi Thị Hương. I’m from group 4 and As you can see on the
screen, our topic I would like to tell you today is Visual Aids for
presentation.
I hope after our presentation today, you all can get more information
about Visual Aids and know how to use it in an effective way.

There will be 3 main parts:

I’ll start with the first part:

Now let's take a look at this question: What is a visual aid? Let's look at
the meanings of the words: visual and aid.
 “Visual” = something you can see
 “Aid” = something helpful or useful
So, according to Cambridge Dictionary, visual aid in presentation is
something you can see, like a photo, chart, video, GIF, etc, that makes
your presentation easier to understand and remember information.
Let’s begin with an example:
I'm going to share the first body paragraph of my presentation without
visual aids.
 Now I would like to tell you about some advantages I have found
when choosing to major in English language.
 Firstly, Studying English can help to get better job opportunities.
English is the language of science, computers, diplomacy, and
tourism. Knowing English increases your chances of getting a good
job in a multinational company within your home country or of
finding work abroad.
 Secondly, Traveling and meeting new people is a lot easier with
a good knowledge of English because English is the official
language of 53 countries. This means that whether you’re working
in Beijing, or traveling in Brazil, studying English can help you to
have a conversation with people from all over the world.
Ok. what do you think? Now let's watch the same paragraph but this
time with visual aids
So do you think example 1 or example 2 is better ? Do you think VA
made my presentation easier to understand?

When giving a speech or presentation, a speaker communicates

information orally. Whether expressing an opinion, advocating a course
of action, or presenting factual (or statistical) information, a speaker
who relies on just the spoken words may leave their listeners confused.
Listeners may also struggle to remember key facts and ideas.

But What if the speaker includes visuals to accompany his oral

explanations? Then listeners can more easily understand important
concepts throughout the presentation and remember the main points
the speaker is making.

Moving on to the next part, Ánh will introduce you to some types of VA.
Ánh, the floor is yours.
