Chapter 5
Chapter 5
This chapter presents the summary of findings, conclusions, and recommendations for future
researchers.
● The study explored the effects of hamster manure on the growth of Malunggay (Moringa
oleifera) plants using three setups: low manure concentration, high concentration, and no
manure.
● Based on plant height, setup 1 (low concentration) showed the most consistent and steady
growth each week, indicating that low manure concentrations promote plant height.
● On the other hand, setup 2 (no manure) had slower but steady growth, suggesting that
while manure aids growth, plants can still develop without it.
● Lastly, setup 3 (high concentration) grew quickly at first but declined in the final week,
implying that high manure concentrations may initially boost growth but later hinder it.
● Taking into account the leaf production of the plants, setup 2 (no manure) produced the
most leaves, showing that leaf growth is not strictly dependent on manure.
● However, setup 3 (high concentration) produced the fewest leaves, suggesting that
excessive manure leads to nutrient and toxin overload, negatively affecting leaf
production.
● Low concentrations of manure benefit plant growth, while high concentrations can stunt
● Excessive manure may lead to nutrient toxicity, reducing both leaf production and overall
plant health.
5.2 Conclusion
This study found that hamster manure significantly affects the growth rate of Malunggay
(Moringa oleifera), depending on the amount used. Plants treated with low concentrations grew
faster, taller, and produced more leaves compared to non-treated plants, making hamster manure
a potential organic fertilizer. However, high concentrations caused stunted growth and fewer
leaves, likely due to nutrient overload. Within three weeks, treated plants showed noticeable
growth, but excessive manure led to negative effects. This suggests that while hamster manure
5.3 Recommendations
The following recommendations are offered for related research with the use of hamster manure
as fertilizer.
● Controlling the amount of sunlight the plant receives may increase the growth of the plant
● Applying malunggay seeds instead of malunggay cuttings can lead to more plant
development, using cuttings can be difficult due to lack of root system to absorb water
and nutrients.
● Including more larger holes on the pots to improve the water flow and maintain moisture
of the plants.
● Ensuring the accuracy of timing when watering plants, a consistent time watering can
● Asking gardeners for advice on how to grow the plant with hamster manure to achieve
