"Lifeguard Information"
Camp can always use more lifeguards! If you are interested in working on the waterfront or being
able to take campers swimming you must be a certified lifeguard.
Classes for camp staff are historically offered at the Ann Arbor YMCA in April, May, and June -
these classes are FREE to Camp Staff!
Information about classes will come out with contracts. We prefer YMCA Lifeguard Certifications.
If you live out of town or are unable to attend a YMCA Lifeguard course we do accept Red Cross
Lifeguard Certifications.

Adrian High School, where I found myself playing against lower-level opponents. Instead of
solely focusing on winning, I recognized the opportunity to contribute positively to their
experience. Throughout the match, I deliberately adjusted my gameplay to offer them a chance to
learn and grow. Rather than overpowering them with my skills, I took the time to provide tips
and encouragement between points, helping them refine their techniques and strategies. Despite
the competitive nature of the match, I prioritized their development and enjoyment of the game.
By fostering a supportive environment and embodying sportsmanship, I believe I not only enhanced
their experience but also enriched my own by embodying the values of teamwork and mentorship.

took the initiative to offer assistance. I approached the individual in a supportive manner,
acknowledging their efforts while gently suggesting adjustments to their form. Recognizing the
importance of mastering proper techniques in lifeguarding, I patiently worked with them,
providing step-by-step guidance and encouragement. By taking the lead in addressing the issue
promptly and constructively, I helped improve their skills and confidence in performing critical
lifeguard duties. This proactive approach not only benefited the individual but also contributed
to a safer learning environment for everyone involved.
