The report details a laboratory investigation into artificial lighting in the workplace, focusing on the requirements for adequate illumination and the effects of lamp height on lighting levels. It outlines the importance of proper lighting for safety and productivity, and describes the equipment used for measuring illuminance. The findings include a table of illumination measurements at various lamp heights and a conclusion that a graph was plotted to illustrate this relationship.

REPORT
Laboratory work №3 (part 1)
Theme: Investigation of artificial light in the workplace Student: Ogugua Joshua Ozioma Group: IBM-12 TASKS OF THE WORK: 1. To acquaint students with the requirements for artificial lighting of industrial premises. 2. To investigate the influence of various lighting factors on the nature of workplace lighting according to previously obtained data. 3. To plot the graph of lighting dependence on the height of the lamp suspension. 4. To make a conclusion about the work done. BRIEF THEORETICAL INFORMATION To create favorable and safe working conditions, sufficient illumination of the work surface and the correct direction of light are of great importance. Irrational lighting not only complicates work and reduces productivity, but can also cause injuries. Lighting of industrial premises and workplaces is carried out by general and combined systems of artificial lighting at night, and when there is not enough natural light, then during the day or in the evening. Incandescent, fluorescent and special (mercury) lamps are used for artificial lighting. The choice of light source depends on the category of visual work performed, environmental conditions, the size of the room. General lighting is carried out by uniform placement of lamps of the same type and the same power in the whole room. The combination of general and local lighting systems provides combined lighting, which allows you to create the desired level of illumination directly in the workplace. The use of only local lighting inside the premises at the factory is not allowed. USED EQUIPMENT: Luxmeter, Laboratory autotransformer, Different types of lamps, Set of colored sheets of paper, Goniometer, Installation for measuring illuminance. EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH Investigation of the dependence of lighting on the height of the lamp suspension above the work surface. 1) At a voltage of 220 V measure and write down in table change of illumination depending on height of the lamp suspension over a working surface. Tab. 1 The dependence of the illumination and the distance oft placement lamp Note: Workplace lighting is pre-measured. Lamp suspension 50 60 70 80 90 100 110 120 130 140 height in cm
