Software Release Notes

Agilent SpectrAA Base, Pro and CFR Version 5.6 can also be used with older IEEE controlled SpectrAA instrument models, including the 50,
110/220, 600/640, 800/880 and 220/600/640/800/880 Zeeman spectrometers. However, these older instruments have not been
evaluated with the SpectrAA Version 5.6 software. Error free operation is therefore not guaranteed with these instrument models.
Agilent SpectrAA Base, Pro and CFR Version 5.6 software has been evaluated using instrument firmware version 2.12. If you are upgrading
from SpectrAA version 5.1 or earlier, it will be necessary to upgrade your firmware. Contact your local Agilent office for more details.
Registration requirements when upgrading can be found in the ‘Upgrade registration required’ column.

The following only applies to the SpectrAA CFR software.
The Varian 21CFR11 Assistant is no longer available.
The 21 CFR Part 11 compliance is now provided using the
Spectroscopy Configuration Manager (SCM) and
Spectroscopy Database Administrator (SDA).

The SCM provides you with the tools to manage your 21 CFR
Part 11 environment. SCM provides the means to create,
configure and maintain data in relation to system security,
user management and data paths. The SCM is used to set the
privileges and profiles of each user. SCM controls which
application/functions may be run by a particular user. It also
establishes the level of authority a user may have with regard
to signatures and accessing certain parts of an application. A
Group, Project, User, User Profile and Privileges are created
and assigned to a Station (name of the computer where the
Instrument software has been installed) in SCM. For more
details on SCM please refer to the Help.

The SDA provides a database environment to store and

maintain your data.
- The Administrator is able to run the SpectrAA Applications if
given permission to do so in SCM.
