SPECIAL PROCEDURE

2. TASKS/REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

Read carefully the information given in the tasks/documents mentioned hereafter.


– Standard Practices - General (Refer to Task 70-01-00-940-801).
– Electrical connectors - General (Refer to Task 70-43-00-940-801).

3. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary procedures

DECU must be installed on the helicopter.


– The laptop must be configured in accordance with the polybox unit.

Maintenance Level: 1

– Apply the task hardware installation with polybox unit and its tool software launch special
procedure (Refer to Task 73-22-04-280-801).

B. Access to the "Inter - ECU message - ARINC 429" module

NOTE: You can read and save in real time the normal message transmitted by the
DECU on the serial link. In case of interruption during the procedure, refer to
paragraph 5.

(1) Set the harness box switches according to the table on the Task 73-22-04-280-801

(2) Click on the "Inter-EECU message - ARINC 429" button.

NOTE: The maintenance software displays the "Inter-EECU message - ARINC 429"

window on the screen.


The “Start", "Open” and “Exit” buttons are active.
The Reception tab : "Connected EECU/Other EECU" is selected.
The compartments “EECU connected” and “Other EECU” are selected.
(3) Untick “Other EECU”, only “ connected EECU” must remain selected.

NOTE: If you start the application without unticking “Other EECU”, the reception
of parameters will be considered “Bad” and the application will be
blocked without any chance of exiting the maintenance software.

Start the task manager to exit the maintenance software if the application is blocked
(a) Press on “Ctrl/Alt/del”
(b) Select “Task manager”.
(c) Select “TL0178P101” and click on “End task”.
(d) Restart the procedure.
(4) Click on the “Start” button shown as a green light icon, to start the process.

NOTE: The “Stop” and “Save” buttons are active.


The “Start", "Open” and “Exit” buttons are inactive.
The parameters transmitted by the DECU on the X-talk link are displayed.

(a) Perform the following procedure if the parameters are not received, (Receipt: Bad” is
displayed in red ).

– Exit the maintenance software.


– Check the connections and configuration of the laptop.
– Restart the procedure.
(b) At this step, the operator can perform the following operations:

– Save the parameters during a period.


– Read the information displayed in the tabs.
– Stop the reception of the message transmitted by the DECU.
– Exit the option
(5) Read the data sent by the DECU

NOTE: The value of each parameter is displayed in the white fields. The label
number, the unit and the designation of each parameter are indicated to the
left of each white field.
(6) Saving of data sent by the DECU

(a) Click on the " Save " button. This action initiates the save and the action button
becomes " Stop Save "
(b) Click on the " Stop save " button to stop the save. This action allows a sequence to be
saved.

NOTE: The maintenance software automatically selects the name of the


file and saves it in the default directory or in the directory you have
selected. The filename will be identified by the DECU part number, the

database reference, the DECU serial number, the date and the time of
the save.
The file extension will be noted " int ".
(7) Opening a saved file

(a) Click on the " Stop " button if parameters are currently being received.
(b) Click on the " Open " button represented by a folder.

NOTE: The maintenance software displays a " File to be opened " window
and selects by default the directory in which the files are saved.
The operator can select another directory and/or select a file in the
selected list.
(c) Having selected a file, click " Open " to display on the screen the data stored in the
file.

NOTE: The first screen may be displayed in red as the file is positioned at
the top and no value is available.

(d) When the " File " tab becomes available, the following actions are possible:

– Print the data by clicking on the " Print " button.


– Browse through the file using the scroll bar.
– Save the file in Excel format by clicking on the " Excel " button.
The filename will then be displayed on the screen with the additional extension
" .int.0.csv ". Click on the " OK " button to save this file.
(8) Stopping message receipt

– To stop the process, click on the " Stop " button represented by a red light icon.
– The " Start ", " Open " and " Exit " action buttons become active again.
(9) Quit the " Inter-ECU message - ARINC 429 " module.

– Click on the " Exit " button. The maintenance software returns to the main menu.
(10) Quit the maintenance software.

– Click on the " Exit " button.

C. Final steps

1. De-energize the helicopter.

2. Switch off the laptop.

3. Disconnect and remove the tool.

D. Procedure to be applied in the event of an interruption

1. De-energize the helicopter.

2. Quit the software and switch off the laptop.

4. Repeat the procedure from the start.
