II. Analysis
1. Base on the activity you did earlier, how did using

III. Abstraction

 Adverb is a word that modifies or gives more

information about a verb, an adjective, or
even another adverb. Adverbs answer
questions like how, when, where, and how
often something happens.

 Types of Adverbs

 Introduce the main types of adverbs,

explaining briefly what each one does:
o Adverbs of Manner – explain how an
action happens (e.g., quickly, slowly).
o Adverbs of Time – explain when an
action happens (e.g., today,
yesterday).
o Adverbs of Place – explain where an
action happens (e.g., here, outside).
o Adverbs of Frequency – explain how
often an action happens (e.g., always,
never).

 Adverbs of time and adverbs of place:

o Adverbs of Time answer the question
when. They indicate the timing of an
action, such as now, later, soon, or
yesterday.
 Example: "She will start her
homework later."
 Example: “They visited us
yesterday.”

o Adverbs of Place answer the question

where. They show the location of an
action, such as here, outside, upstairs,
or nearby.
 Example: "The children are
playing outside."
 Example: “ He looked
everywhere for his keys.”

“The Midnight Adventure”

Last night, Sarah couldn’t sleep, so she decided to

take a walk around her neighbourhood. She quietly
stepped outside and wandered down the empty
streets. Just then, she noticed a strange light glowing
at the end of the alley. Without hesitating, she
walked over and found an old, hidden book lying on
the ground. Right away, she picked it up, wondering
who could have left it there. Every night after that,
Sarah returned to the same spot, hoping to uncover
more mysteries.

- Ask students to list all the adverbs of time

and place that they can see in the story.

IV. Application

Instruction:

1. Pair up with a partner.

2. Each pair will receive a set of words that
include adverbs of time and adverbs of place.
3. Together, create one sentence for each word,
using it correctly as an adverb of time or
place.
4. After completing your sentences, practice
reading them aloud with your partner to
ensure they sound clear and correct.
5. Be prepared to share one or two of your
sentences with the class when everyone is
finished.

For Example:

Adverb of Place: “The children are playing outside in

the yard.”

Adverb of Time: “She will arrive tomorrow to help

with the event.”

The words are the following:

Adverbs of Place:

 Nearby
 Outside
 Upstairs
 Here
 Everywhere
 Abroad
 Downtown
 Inside
 Underneath
 Far away

Adverbs of Time:

 Yesterday
 Today
 Later
 Soon
 Now
 Tomorrow
 Recently
 Early
 Already
 Tonight
