First Conditional sentences. Remember the
structure of the 1st Conditional (If you have
doubts, please check the theory from last class
“Class 12/11”).

Choose the correct answer.

1) If the weather's nice tomorrow, we drive / ‘ll drive to the beach.

2) If I go / ‘ll go to the party, will you come with me?

3) My parents will buy / will to buy me an iPod if I pass my exam.

4) She'll buy the top, if it’ll be / if it is on the sale.

5) If you don’t leave / won’t leave now, you'll miss the bus.

6) His grandparents will be happy if he visits / if he’ll visit them.

7) I'll be tired tomorrow if I won’t / don’t go to bed soon.

8) Dad, do you give / will you give me some money if I wash your car?

IF + PRESENT SIMPLE, WILL + INFINITIVE

WILL + INFINITIVE + IF + PRESENT SIMPLE

There is one mistake in each sentence. Underline it and correct it.

Example: If you will help me, we will finish in time. _help_

- Complete these first conditional sentences. Only use contractions for


negatives - e.g. won't/don't

1. If you don’t hurry (not/hurry), we will be late!

2. If Enrico passES (pass) his exam, he will be very happy. Pass=Infinitive/

Passes= Present Simple conjugation

3. However, if Enrico fails, he won’t BE (not be ) very happy. Remember

to use the Verb to Be, in this case it’s in INFINITIVE FORM because of the

Will.

4. If you stay awake all night, you will be (be) very tired tomorrow.

5. Alan won’t WIN (not \ win) the lottery if he doesn't buy a ticket.

Remember to use all the verbs and words you have in brackets ().

6. If you eat too much chocolate you will become (become) fat.
7. We don’t HAVE to go (not \ go) to the restaurant if you're not hungry. El

HAVE activa el verbo GO, porque solo no significa “tener que ir” es solo

“ir”.

8. If Rick drives too fast he will have (have) an accident.
