CLASS 7 – MATHEMATICS QUESTION PAPER

Maximum Marks: 70

Time: 3 Hours

General Instructions:

1. All questions are compulsory.

2. Marks are indicated against each question.

3. Show all necessary calculations.

Section A – (1 mark each)

(5 × 1 = 5 marks)

1. Simplify: (23×52)÷(102)

2. Find the measure of the third angle of a triangle if the other two angles are 65° and 45°.

3. Find 40% of 750.

4. Find the perimeter of a square whose diagonal is 12 cm.

5. How many lines of symmetry does a regular hexagon have?

Section B – (2 marks each)

(5 × 2 = 10 marks)
6. Express 1.25 as a rational number in the form p/q.
7. The base of a triangle is 15 cm, and its height is 8 cm. Find its area.
8. A school has 250 students, and 120 are girls. Find the percentage of boys in the school.
9. The marks of 10 students in a test are 25, 30, 28, 32, 40, 35, 30, 36, 38, 28. Find the mean of
their marks.
10. Draw a cuboid and mark its faces, vertices, and edges.

Section C – (3 marks each)

(5 × 3 = 15 marks)
11. Evaluate:

(3/5×25/9)+(4/7÷2/3)

12. In a triangle, the sides are in the ratio 5:12:13. If its perimeter is 60 cm, find the length of
each side.

13. A shopkeeper sells a watch for ₹2,400 after offering a discount of 20%. Find the marked
price of the watch.
14. Find the perimeter and area of a rectangle whose length = 18 cm and diagonal = 30 cm.

15. The angles of a quadrilateral are in the ratio 3:5:7:9. Find the measure of each angle.

Section D – (4 marks each)

(5 × 4 = 20 marks)
16. Convert 0.36 (bar notation) into a rational number.
17. The cost of a sofa is ₹18,000. If the GST rate is 12%, find the total cost after GST.
18. A cylinder has a radius of 7 cm and a height of 10 cm. Find its total surface area.
19. A dice is rolled once. Find the probability of getting:
a) A prime number
b) A number greater than 4
c) An even number
d) A number less than 3
20. A cube of side 5 cm is painted on all its faces and then cut into 1 cm small cubes. Find:
a) The total number of small cubes.
b) The number of cubes with 3 painted faces.

Section E – (5 marks each)

21. (Exponents & Powers)
Simplify and express in standard form:

(2.5×105)×(4×103)÷(5×102)

22. (Triangles & Properties)


The sides of a triangle are 7 cm, 24 cm, and 25 cm. Show that it is a right-angled
triangle using the Pythagoras theorem.

23. (Data Handling)


The following are the monthly expenses (in ₹) of 5 families:
₹28,000, ₹32,500, ₹25,000, ₹31,000, ₹30,500
a) Find the mean monthly expense.
b) Find the median expense.

24. (Percentage & Applications)


A shopkeeper buys 100 books for ₹40 each and sells them for ₹55 each. Find:
a) The total profit made.
b) The profit percentage.
