I. Background / Situational Analysis

Improper garbage disposal has been a persistent issue in Barangay Gagabutan, West
Rizal, Cagayan, leading to environmental pollution, health risks, and poor sanitation. The
lack of a structured waste management system has resulted in waste accumulation,
clogged drainage systems, and the spread of diseases like dengue and respiratory
infections.

This project seeks to implement an efficient garbage management system tailored for
the barangay, focusing on proper waste segregation, regular collection schedules, recycling
programs, and community education. The project will also promote collaboration between
barangay officials, local organizations, and residents to create a sustainable waste
management plan.

proper disposal of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.

management practices.
