the associated value of  is 0.02 V-1. If a particular device for which L is 3m operates at
VDS = 1V with a drain current of 80A, what does the drain current become if VDS is raised

conduct heat from an electron device to a heat sink at a rate of 10Watts. Estimate value of

(ii) Determine the diameter of the lead wire to pass maximum super current of 0.0021 mA
at 5.0 K. The critical temperature and critical magnetic field for lead are respectively 7.18 K
and 6.5×10–4 A/m. (8 M)

04. (c) (i) Implement the following Boolean functions with a 41 multiplexer and external gates.
Connect inputs A and B to the selection lines. The input requirements for the four data lines
will be a function of variable C and D. These values are obtained by expressing F as a
function of C and D for each of the four cases when AB = 00, 01,10 and 11. These functions
may have to be implemented with external gates.
(1) F(A,B,C,D) = (1,3,4,11,12,13,14,15)

05. (e) The reverse saturation current of a Ge diode was measured as 5A at room temperature when it
was reverse biased with 10V. The reverse saturation current was found to increase by T% for
every degree raise in temperature. Find the leakage resistance shunting the diode. (12 M)

06. (a) (i) Find the voltage at which the reverse current of a Ge diode at room temperature will reach
90% of its saturation value. Also find the ratio of diode current with a forward bias of 0.05 V
to the current with a reverse bias of 0.05 V to the current with a reverse bias of 0.05 V.
