Text: Rainy seasons in Africa
Rainy season is a time of rainfalls. During this period there is water everywhere and some areas are
flooded. It is also a time of farm activities where farmers grow their crops. In Togo for instance, there
are two rainy seasons in the South and one in the North. Farmers are very busy during this period of
time. Togolese farmer grows food crops like: maize, yam, cassa, millet, beans, rice, vegetables and
fruits and industrialized crops such as: cocoa, coffee, and cotton.
Unfortunately, sometimes there are heavy rains that cause havocs: destroy plantations causing hunger,
building causing loss of human lives and properties. This is almost the same in all African countries.

Text : The computer
A computer is a digital and electronic machine that can be programmed to carry out sequences of
arithmetic or logical operations automatically. Early computers were meant to be used only for
calculations. There were simple manual instruments like abacus. The first digital electronic
calculating machines were developed during the world war II.
Modern computers can perform generic sets of operations known as programs. These programs
enable computers to perform a wide range of tasks. Conventionally, a modern computer consists of:
a central processing unit (CPU), a control unit and the peripheral devices. The CPU is endowed with
a computer a computer memory that carries out arithmetic and logical operations. The control unit
can chang the order of operations in response to stored information. The peripheral devices include
input devices such as keyboard, mice, joystick; and the output devices such as monitor screen, and
printers. Peripheral devices allow information to be saved and retrieved.
