INTRODUCTION

On-the-job training is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient

students about the work and their future career. It is a type of skill development

where a worker learns how to do the work through hands –on experience. On the job

training is one method by which students are exposed with different work situation

designed to give students an opportunity to experience a chance to apply the theories

and computation that they have learned from the school. It also helps the students to

acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting.

OJT is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career but

also to show students the reality about working. The students will be exposed to the

actual work related to the course that they are taking. It also allows those with no

experience to work and to learn at the same time. On-the-Job Training helps the

trainee to learn more about her chosen field and practice what she has learned from

the school. It helps in the building up of the trainee’s competence. Of course, when a

student is competent enough, she will be able to do things successfully and this

training develops one’s professionalism in dealing with people. After the training, the

trainee will be able to handle situations properly and she’ll be able to know how to

socialize well with her colleagues. She will also be able to work well with everyone

and she’ll have a good teamwork. OJT also enhances the critical thinking abilities

and discipline of the student.

Brief History

A. LAND TRANSPORTATION OFFICE (LTO)

1912- On February 6, 1912, Legislative Act No. 2159 was enacted to regulate motor
vehicles in the Philippine Islands and to provide for the regulation and licensing of
operators. This was the first formal law on land transportation passed by the
legislature. This law created an Automobile Section under the Administrative
Division of the Bureau of Public Works. The Section was tasked to take charge of
motor vehicles and drivers’ services.
1922- Later on, Legislative Act 2159 was amended by 2389, 2556, 2587, 2639 and
2925. In 1922, Act No. 3045 was passed into law compiling and incorporating all
laws governing motor vehicles. The Automobile Section was upgraded to the
Automobile Division under the Bureau of Public Works.
1933- On January 1, 1933, Act No. 3992 otherwise known as “The Revised Motor
Vehicle Law” was enacted amending Act No. 3045.The Automobile Division was
renamed Division of Motor Vehicles. The Chief of the Division was called the
Superintendent of Division of Motor Vehicles. Act No. 3992 was amended by
Commonwealth Act Numbers 123, 548, 556, 652 and Republic Act Numbers 314,
587, and 2383.
1945- On June 2, 1945, Department Order No. 4 was issued by the Department of
Public Works and Highways reorganizing the Division. This took effect after the
liberation of the Philippines from the Japanese invasion. In 1947, Executive Order
No. 94 was promulgated reorganizing the different executive departments, bureaus
and offices. Under Section 82 of this E.O., the Division of Motor Vehicles was
upgraded into the Motor Vehicles Office (MVO) with the category of a Bureau. The
Chief of the MVO enjoyed the rights and privileges of a Bureau Director.
1961- During the fifties and early sixties, our country started undergoing rapid
economic development. Industrialization advanced and as a consequence, more and
better roads were constructed. The Filipino then realized the need for more and better
means of transportation. This need was second only to the need for drugs such as
sovaldi. The growth in the number of motor vehicles increased the demand for
services that the MVO must render to the public. This necessitated the issuance by
the DPWH on June 5, 1961 of Administrative Regulation No. 1 transferring the
function of collecting the registration fees from city treasurers to the various vehicle
agencies of MVO.

1964- On June 20, 1964, R.A. 4136, otherwise known as the “Land Transportation
and Traffic Code” was enacted abolishing the Motor Vehicle Office and creating the
Land Transportation Commission. This law likewise partially repealed Act No. 3992.
The Code provided that the Land Transportation Commission shall “control as far as
they apply, the registration and operation of motor vehicles and the licensing of
owners, dealers, conductors, drivers and similar matters.” To effectively carry out its
mandate, the Land Transportation Commission established regional offices in various
parts of the country.
1979- On July 23, 1979, Executive Order Number 546 was promulgated creating the
Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC). This marked
reorganization. The Land Transportation Commission was renamed Bureau of Land
Transportation and was absorbed by MOTC.
1980- On June 2, 1980, Batas Pambansa Bilang 43 was passed providing for the
issuance of permanent number plates to owners of motor vehicles and trailers,
amending for the purpose section 17 of RA 4136.
1985- On March 20, 1985, Executive Order 1011 was promulgated. This Executive
Order abolished the Board of Transportation and the Bureau of Land Transportation
and established the Land Transportation Commission. The defunct BLT and BOT
were merged and their powers, functions and responsibilities were transferred to the
Land Transportation Commission (LTC) headed by a Chairman, assisted by four
Commissioners. The LTC was tasked to perform functions such as registering motor
vehicles, licensing of drivers and conductors, franchising of public utility vehicles
and enforcing traffic rules and regulations and adjudicating apprehensions.
1987- On January 30, 1987, the Land Transportation Commission was abolished and
two offices were created, namely: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). The LTO took
over the functions of the former BLT and the LTFRB took over the functions of the
former BOT. The MOTC was likewise renamed DOTC. All these changes took effect
with the promulgation of Executive Order No. 125 which was later amended by
Executive Orders No. 125-A dated April 13, 1987 and E.O. 226 dated July 25, 1987.
Despite the changes in names of Office and all the reorganizations that took effect, its
basic functions on land transportation system remain the same. The promotion of
safety and comfort in land travel is its continuing commitment. When Executive
Orders 125, 125-A and 226 were promulgated, LTO was composed of only thirteen
(13) regions. As time went on, additional regions were created, namely: CAR,
CARAGA and MIMAROPA. While CAR and CARAGA are attached to the DOTC,
they report to LTO Central Office on matters of registration of motor vehicles,
issuance of driver's licenses and enforcement of land transportation laws, rules and
regulations.

office basic necessity. My initial analysis of the agency or organization was excellent in
terms of their public service.

2. Site Supervisor

The greatest contribution made by the site supervisor is her work dedication. The general
level of supervision was in the peak of the highest because she encouraged everyone to
accomplish everything they have as soon as possible.

3. Environmental conditions or events…

The one event/characteristic that really influenced my internship was the treatment of the
supervisor to the employees. She let the employee rest and gived snacks. A trend or issue
which really impacted the organization is their excellent accommodation to client and
politeness.

4. Self-Assessment

The most important thing I learned is how to properly spend and manage my time. I
contributed to organization by being initiative and providing my skills, knowledge and be
of service whenever they need help.

5. General

The internship experience can be strengthened by researching first the workplace

environment and the transaction made within the offices so that trainees will be
instructed before their OJT deployment. My advice for the future interns is to search
everything about the organization and learn from it. It will help them a lot by giving them
familiarity and instruction.

Note: This analysis need not to be shared with the site supervisor.

knowledge gained from years of formal education into practice and discover that

there is still a lot to learn from the real-world workplace.

The objective is for them to learn how to exercise self-control, be patient, and

communicate effectively with others so they can perform the task as directed by the

supervisor. The training was brief, yet despite that, it was really important and

remembered. The trainee expanded on the confidence he had already acquired to

eventually become a successful employee. The training experiences she had will

eventually alter her. She learned how to be diplomatic in both her words and her

deeds, and she felt really rejuvenated.

6. Role trends

Learning Insights:
Raphael Francis Quisumbing of StackLeague began a webinar on application
development trends on February 9, 2022. It all starts with market trends that have the ability
to develop, become widely embraced, and be adopted. The client experience and digital
platforms are where it enters as it gets older. It ranks with agile analytics, core systems
transformation, and data lakes in terms of mainstream acceptance. Furthermore, interest in
block chains, distributed ledgers, and quantum computing is rising. The discussion on cloud
computing that followed focused on the trends in single-cloud and multi-cloud usage. The
least expensive bandwidth is offered by multi-cloud, which also has no vendor or service
lock-in and the lowest common denominator. For the Single-Cloud to work, Managed
Services, Full Integration, and service and specialized skills are required. Mobile and app
trends in user engagement are covered. He also discussed IOT, AR, and VR on mobile as
well as 5G infrastructure. The demand for web development is covered in the app's
subsections on web/browser, PWA/SPA Adoption, and Web Assembly. The discussion
includes both these services and different mobile brand identities. Next are the role trends,
which are divided into the Generalist, Senior, and Specialist categories. It includes
generalists who work as teachers, trainers, data engineers, and cloud practitioners. As a
Senior, I present on topics including serverless, CI/CD, cloud devops, full-stack
development, and more. The final one is a Specialist, which encompasses data science,
ongoing security, and QA automation.Throughout this class, students learnt about the many
forms of technology that are accessible for application development. Given that anyone can
use them while designing an app, each trend discussed in this session is significant.
Particularly in career trends where the demand for app development is considerable across
many industries, it is divided into three categories: generalist, senior, and specialist. In
accordance with your talents, one of these three will be awarded to you.

The Covid19 epidemic, which creates social distance, causes courses to be

suspended, inhibits face-to-face education, and mandates the use of signals, prevents
students from learning correctly in accordance with their selected area. We tertiary students
are finding it increasingly challenging to advance in our fields of study because of this
pandemic. Students' skills and knowledge cannot fully develop without in-person instruction.
Students can, however, become experts on their own with the help of webinars because it is
very beneficial to increase one's knowledge and skills. Students are unable to study well
when faced with a Covid19 epidemic, where social withdrawal is a problem, classes are
suspended, face-to-face education is forbidden, and signaling is vital.

Through webinars, people from all around the world may connect over a shared
interest in education. Because using webinars enables them to connect with others to learn
new things and expand their abilities, it gives registrants the chance to do better in their field.
I attended a webinar on "A practical Approach to Programming with JavaScript and JQuery"
on February 4, 2022, hosted by independent web developer Richard Mark L. Jamilla at
Mindoro State University's Calapan Campus.Exact start time for the webinar is 7:30 a.m.
Before the host was introduced and the topics for the day were covered, a prayer was recited.
He also introduced the webinar's speaker, Mr. Richard Mark L. Jamilla. The instructor
discussed events, syntax, the GET and POST methods, and AJAX. He also explains how
JavaScript Comments, Single Line Comments, and JQuery function using the W3School. He
conducted the live coding session slowly so that everyone could readily pick up on the ideas
and comprehend the discussion as a whole. The instructor gave us the opportunity to code on
our laptops or PCs to determine how well we grasped the content. After the live session, the
host flashes the code.

I was able to comprehend JavaScript and JQuery as they relate to programming

thanks to the assistance of this webinar. It focuses on how important JavaScript and JQuery
are for building useful websites and offers a number of pointers for using them in HTML.

Learning Insights:

Data is one of the most important things in our world right now. Both good and evil
activities can be carried out using data as fuel. Data can be utilized, for example, to estimate
the total number of Covid patients in the Philippines in order to increase public awareness.
On the other side, information can be exploited negatively to harm others and make money.
Due to data, someone's life can be at jeopardy. Because it is a dangerous asset, it needs to be
in capable hands that can handle it prudently.

Data management is the process of developing and sustaining a framework for

ingesting, storing, analyzing, and archiving the crucial data for a modern company. Each
stage of the information lifecycle is connected by it.

On February 17, 2022, the DICT Mindanao Cluster I held a webinar named "Data
Management: Naming Conventions and Hierarchy" with the intention of informing the
public about the importance of comprehending data management and how it influences our
day-to-day activities. Exact start time for the webinar is 8:00 a.m. Before the Philippine
National Anthem, a prayer was said. After then, Mr. Juanito Calingacion Jr. makes the
webinar's opening remarks. After the introductory remarks, the host will introduce the
resource speaker for the day. The webinar's speaker is an engineer. Mark L. Flores, a
professor at the Institute of Computer Studies and the assistant director of the Management
Information Systems Technology Office.

This webinar taught me that I need to improve my technological skills in order to

grow as a person and a possible IT professional. so that the future employer I have can have
confidence in me and never be unsatisfied with my performance. It also provides me with
some guidance on how to efficiently organize the data. Additionally, I learned that
understanding data security is essential for handling data, especially big data, in a way that
keeps it secure and deters theft..

Salient Points:
1. The Data Privacy Act of 2012
2. Rights of the data subject
3. Security measures for the protection of personal data
Learning Insights:
Today's population is used to juggling two separate realities. People use technology,
such as a computer, cellphone, tablet, and laptop, to connect to this virtual environment; the
first is the real world we are in; the second is what we referred to as "the virtual world."
People can digitally speak, exchange ideas, learn new things, look up the weather, and even
take part in games where players can communicate electronically by using their own
accounts. Users of the various social media platforms increase in number and happiness
every day as they use them. This also implies that consumers do not have sufficient
knowledge of how to use those sites on their own. Trusting virtual information is a very
risky choice. As a result of the numerous criminal attacks committed by unauthorised parties
inside the virtual world in an effort to steal someone's personal data, including their bank
account. Because of this, you must be aware of how to defend yourself against such harmful
attempts and, more importantly, how to form your understanding of data privacy protection
if you want to avoid experiencing this type of attack.
I took part in an attorney-led webinar on "Data Privacy Protection" on February 18,
2022. Anna Benjieline R. Puzon serves as the deputy division chief in the Compliance and
Monitoring Division. The webinar's objective is to inform the general audience of the
importance of knowing about data privacy protection. Exact start time for the webinar is
8:00 a.m. Before the Philippine National Anthem, a prayer was said. Following that, an
introduction was provided by Mr. Michael Jolo, a provincial officer for the DICT Mindanao
Cluster I in the province of Basilan. The host covered virtual etiquette as well as the
activities, attendance, and giving of awards during the webinar.I have all the knowledge I
need regarding data privacy protection I appreciate this webinar. especially now that social
media platforms are an integral part of our everyday lives and have become the new
standard.

Learning Insights:

Today, webinars are regarded as essential tools across many industries. In order to
effectively deliver the lesson, even if it is done online, it is also advantageous for both
students and lecturers to allow effective dialogue. Because both parties can respond or offer
input anytime they'd like, a webinar lecture may be more interactive.

I watched Mr. Richard Mark L. Jamilla, a freelance web developer, conduct a

webinar titled "Digital Productivity" via Zoom Video Communication and Facebook live on
February 16, 2022. At precisely 9:00 AM, the webinar begins. The host and several members
of the DICT staff were introduced at the outset. The national anthem and a prayer were then
played before she introduced the webinar's speaker, engineer Mark Flores. The speaker
started the webinar with a fast game on Mentimeter at menti.com, which asked players to
name the various apps that were shown on the screen in order to make it more engaging.
Nearly all of the tasks we complete at work involve an application or technological tool,
especially if we work remotely. When it comes to successful communication and conveying
information or messages in a more comfortable way, technology is a major help.

Digital communication is essential in the present world, especially in light of the

Covid19 virus, which has made things more difficult. We are constrained in what we can do
by the epidemic's need that we take safety procedures for everyone. The significance of
online communication was made abundantly obvious by this tragedy. This webinar provided
me with a number of tips for efficient digital communication. It also helps me recognize the
various collaborative tools, including Skype, Slack, WorkChat, Zoom, Meet, and others, as
well as their advantages, which include time and resource savings, an increase in
productivity, better communication, ease of use, and an improvement in team morale for
productive communication.

Title: Internet Media and Information Literacy Training- Cluster Wide

Theme:

Date and Time: January 28, 2022 / 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm

Topic: Introduction to Internet Media and Information Literacy

Discussant: Ms. Erron Joy Tabios and Ms. Laarni Tolentino

Salient Points:
1. Internet and its uses

2. Application of Internet

3. Benefits of Internet to the public

Learning Insights:

Media and information literacy (MIL) is defined as the "combination of knowledge,

attitudes, abilities, and practices required to access, analyze, evaluate, use, produce, and
disseminate information and knowledge in innovative, legal, and ethical ways that respect
human rights" (Moscow Declaration on Media and Information Literacy, 2012). Today, there
are many methods that people can create and exchange knowledge thanks to technology.
Particularly in this emerging era of data and information explosion, there is more media and
information available every day than ever beforeAs we improve our own media and
information literacy as individuals, our capacity to deal with information and misinformation
will be put to the test. It entails showing some deference to people who request it. We must
provide everyone the freedom to express themselves without prejudice or condemnation in
order to respect their information needs. MIL teaches us how to use information and the
media in an ethical, useful, and economical manner.

On January 28, 2022, Ms. Erron Joy Tabios and Ms. Laarni Tolentino, a Training
Specialist II, led a webinar titled "Internet Media and Information Literacy Training- Cluster
Wide," which was funded by DICT Region IV- A CALABARZON. The webinar's goal was
to educate participants about the Internet and all of its uses, applications, and benefits to the
general public. The webinar begins at exactly 2:00 PM.. Before the presenters and their
topics were announced, the day began with a prayer. The lecturer began by discussing the
definitions of Internet media and information literacy. The speaker also discusses the
Internet and all of its uses, applications, and social benefits. A brief quiz is displayed after

the two speakers have done speaking, and students are then given the chance to reply. A

Thanks to this webinar, I now possess all the knowledge I require regarding Internet
media and information literacy. The internet, which is crucial to society, influences every
action and choice we make. Our understanding of Internet media and information may help
us develop into more responsible media producers and knowledgeable media consumers. In
a similar line, encouraging students to build critical thinking abilities through media literacy

Learning Insights:

Microsoft Office is one of the most popular platforms in our generation. Every
significant corporation's operations benefit greatly from it. Microsoft offers a wide range of
applications, each with a specific purpose, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.Every business today relies on computers, laptops, or perhaps both to function
effectively. They installed Microsoft Offices and employed a person who is literate and
familiar with these tools.

The aforementioned webinar featured a presentation from Ma'am Maria Teresa

Morales Capiral, a senior high school teacher and the present ICT Coordinator at Occidental
Mindoro National High School. I attended the webinar hosted by DICT Region IV- B
MIMAROPA- Occidental Mindoro on January 28, 2022. An introduction of the host and a
brief discussion of the topic followed a prayer at precisely one o'clock in the afternoon. The
aforementioned webinar's goal is to educate everyone on the value of becoming familiar with
Microsoft PowerPoint. Regardless of your career, you must be proficient in Microsoft
Offices, especially PowerPoint, as every firm now uses them and is constantly looking for
people who can use them effectively. Microsoft PowerPoint is used to convey concepts,
ideas, suggestions, plans, and projects. I learned more about using PowerPoint as a
consequence of this webinar. It also gives me suggestions on how to present things creatively
utilizing it. Through its many stages, it increases my knowledge, and in the end, it teaches
me the importance of consistently trying new things out. You must, as an individual, rely on
more than just what is taught to you if you want to be literate when utilizing Microsoft
platforms; periodically, you must try to explore and learn on your own.

5. What is ICT and its uses in Disaster Risk Management and the ICT Solutions Technology

6. Advance and Future use of ICT

Learning Insights:

Natural disasters including typhoons, landslides, and tsunamis can strike the
Philippines at any time. Disasters are sudden occurrences that cause major property damage
or casualties among people, such as accidents or natural disasters. Both natural and man-
made disasters, such as typhoons, storm surges, floods, and earthquakes, can occur. Man-
made disasters include terrorist attacks, chemical spills, and pollution. The Philippines' most
poignant natural disaster experiences include Super Typhoon Yolanda, Marawi City, the
2017 Mindanao Siege, the Taal Volcanic Eruption, Typhoon Odette, and lastly the Covid 19
Pandemic.ICT's value and how it reduces catastrophe risk are covered in the webinar "Roles
of ICT in Disaster Risk Management." Jose Carmelo Cueto, the webinar's host, greets
everyone in attendance and presents the topic, "Roles of ICT in Disaster Risk Management,"
before going over the ground rules that would be applicable to everyone in the webinar. The
webinar's speaker, engineer Real, Mark Joseph, is then introduced by him.

I was able to understand the importance of my line of work through this webinar, as well as
how much the world depends on us to reduce the possibility that a tragedy may strike nearby.
The creation, storage, processing, delivery, and exchange of information is referred to as
information and communication technology (ICT). Additionally, it covers a vast array of
goods, programs, and services. As part of catastrophe risk management, information
exchange is facilitated. Communication that is on time, predictable, and effective is crucial
for government agencies and other humanization players who are involved in rescue efforts
and decision-making. Several different technologies are coupled with ICT to manage
disasters. Making decisions, managing information, disseminating information, and
gathering, recording, and analyzing data are all made much easier by ICT.

Title: The Future of Emerging Technologies in Business

Date and Time: February 19, 2022 / 10:00 am- 12:00 am

Plenary: 1

Topic: The Future of Emerging Technologies in Business

Discussant: Ms. Airotciv Ivy Blaise Mangawang

Salient Points:
1. Common Business Problems

2. Entrepreneur vs Businessman

3. Emerging Tech in Business

4. Emerging technologies Today, Tomorrow and Beyond

5. Useful Digital Resources

6. The Power of Social Media

7. Emerging Opportunities

Learning Insights:

The implications that emerging technologies will have on businesses in the future
were discussed in the webinar on "The Future of Emerging Technologies in Business."
Whether or not it is necessary for that profession, every profession uses technology to make
their work much easier. Technology can be used to promote goods, as a tool for online
commerce, for communication, and for electronic money transfers like Gcash. As a result,
having skills in marketing, finance, human resources, or any other area of business is
insufficient if you want to thrive as an entrepreneur or businessman because, at the time,
technology is in demand and you need to be familiar with it.

On February 19, 2022, at exactly 10:00 a.m., the webinar titled "The Future of
Emerging Technologies in Business" began. Before the prayer, the National Anthem was
played. After that, the host will go over the appropriate online behavior for all webinar
participants. concludes with introducing Ms. Airotciv Ivy Blaise Mangawang, the resource
speaker for the day. When everyone is prepared to start the webinar, Ms. Mangawang
requests that they enter the number 2 in the comment section to grab their attention and make

the conversation more interesting. Then the discussion started. The webinar was usually
quite remarkable due to the host's presumably extensive knowledge in this sector. The
potential for ICT to support business success was something I gained from this webinar.
Realizing that you still need to understand the basics of using technology even if you are not
an IT graduate is vital. Today's citizens are expected to adopt the newest technologies as they
become more widely used. Technology has a major positive impact on our economies,
industries, production, enterprises, and other domains. As a result, if you want to start a
business as an individual in the future, you must be aware about current technology in order
for your firm to compete on what the market now wants because technology drives your
business to success.
