PATTERN CROCHET FLOWER POUF

© Annemarie Benthem
Hello,

Thank you for buying one of my patterns! I’ve made a lot of t-shirt yarn projects, and I would like to
give you some tips and trics about t-shirt yarn. Just in case you’ve never used it before.
For this pouf I used 8 balls of Rico Fashion Summer yarn that is available in various colors and prints.
You can find it here http://www.lovecrochet.com/rico-fashion-summer and here
http://www.lovecrochet.com/rico-fashion-summer-print

Ofcourse you can choose another brand, but whatever brand you choose, just make sure the
material is a bit stretchy, because that's way easier to crochet with. If you buy your t-shirt yarn on
the internet, check if the shop says something about the type of material (very stretchy/not
stretchy). Ofcourse you can make your own t-shirt yarn as well. See Google for tutorials.
As a filling I've used an inner cushion of 60cm wide. There are lots of inner cushions available on the
internet, you can find some on Etsy as well.

My patterns are all in US terms. If I use abbreviations this is what I use:

CH: chain
SLST: slip stitch
SC: single crochet
HDC: half double crochet
DEC: decrease
INC: increase

A few more tricks:

1. Use a different color of yarn to make a tiny knot in the first stitch of every row. That way you
know where the next row has to end.
2. Decreasing in this pattern goes like this: yarn around hook, crochet hook in the next stitch,
crochet hook in the following stitch as well, yarn around hook, pull yarn through both
stitches you just went through, yarn around hook, pull yarn through three stitches on your
needle.
3. Because not every pillow is the same, it’s wise to try every now and then if you pillow fits in
the cover. If your cover needs to be a bit higher, just do a few extra 121SC as from row 17.

Well, this should be a good start for your crochet pouf project! Should you have any other questions,
don't hesitate to contact me. I'm happy to help you out if necessary. You can reach me at:
[email protected] And don’t forget to check my blog:
www.annemarieshaakblog.blogspot.com There are a lot of (free) crochet patterns on my blog and
every now and then I have fun giveaways.

Good luck with your project!

PATTERN POUF
1. Chain 4, 1SLST in the first chain, chain 2, 6HDC in the ring.
(If you prefer the magic ring, do 6HDC in a magic ring. A tutorial on how to make the magic
ring is here: http://annemarieshaakblog.blogspot.nl/2011/11/how-to-make-magic-ring.html)
2. Skip the 2-chain from row 1 and INC around (don't forget: you have to increase with HDC
stitches, you increase by just doing 2HDC in 1HDC below). (12)
3. * 1HDC in the next stitch, INC in the next stitch. * Repeat what's in between ** around. (18)
4. * INC in the next stitch, 1HDC in the next stitch. * Repeat what's in between ** around. (27)
5. * INC in the next stitch, 1HDC in the next. * Repeat what's in between ** around. (41)
6. 1HDC in each stitch around. (41)
7. 1HDC in each stitch around. (41)
8. * 1HDC in the next stitch, INC in the next stitch. Repeat around. * Repeat what's in between

9. 1HDC in each stitch around. (61)

Last but not least

Designing crochet patterns is a time-consuming and difficult job. I'd love to see you make as many
poufs as you like for yourself or to give as a gift. But please do not make copies of this pattern, don’t
distribute this pattern, don’t share it and don’t sell it as if it is your design. If you post your own pouf
somewhere on the WorldWideWeb, I’d love it if you refer to my blog or shop. Enjoy!
