Angela Patel-2024-07-31

Angela Patel's Allergy & Food Intolerance Test results indicate that 92.31% of tested substances showed no reaction, while 5.13% had a weak reaction, and 1.28% had a mild to strong reaction. The allergy test revealed no significant IgE sensitization to most foods and pollens, with some mild reactions noted for hazelnuts and peanuts, and moderate sensitization to cockroaches and horses. The food intolerance test showed a strong reaction to almonds, suggesting a potential need for dietary adjustments.

Part I: Allergy Test

About your test result
Our lab has tested whether your blood sample showed any signs of IgE sensitization to 38 different substances by
measuring the concentration of IgE immunoglobulins in your blood. In an IgE-mediated response, the immune system
responds by producing IgE antibodies when it comes in contact with the allergen. The higher the concentration of IgE
antibodies, the greater the chance that the food will trigger allergic symptoms.

An allergy test can give a result/reaction even though the individual does not experience any symptoms. That is, an
elevated IgE alone is not enough to diagnose allergies. It may be that the person being tested is only hypersensitive to a
food instead of allergic, and then the analysis does not show it.

Your test results shows on a scale from 1-6 how strong sensitization your body has reacted with, for each substance.

Interpret the results

Normal values - but show symptoms?
In some cases, people may experience symptoms even though the test shows normal values. It can be due to a number
of different reasons. One reason may be that instead of an allergy, it could be due to a food intolerance (IgG) instead. It
may also be the case that antibodies may be normal in the blood, but elevated in the organ where the reaction takes
place - for example in the nasal mucosa, bronchi or intestines. Another reason may be that it is a false allergy.
Substances are then released from mast cells without antigens being bound to antibodies. If you are sensitive to
biogenic amines (histamine, tryptamine, tyramine, serotonin, phenylethylamine), you may experience symptoms
reminiscent of allergies.

Cross-reactions - reaction despite no symptoms?

If, on the contrary, the test result is positive but there are no symptoms, it may be a cross-allergy reaction. This may, for
example, mean that you have IgE antibodies, but without symptoms. However, you can also have symptoms due to a
cross-allergy reactions. Some allergenic proteins are so similar to an allergenic substance (such as birch pollen) that
neither lab tests nor the body's own immune system can differentiate between them. People with, for example, birch
pollen allergy can thus react to other substances with proteins that have a similar structure, even though they do not
belong to the same food family.

General
Unlike with food intolerances, we do not recommend that you take any substance that you have an allergic sensitization
to including symptoms.

Keep in mind that hygiene items such as skin cream and shampoo may contain allergenic substances.

Part II: Food intolerance Test

Briefly about your test results
Our lab has tested if your blood test showed any signs of IgG sensitization to 40 different foods by measuring the
concentration of IgG4 immunoglobulins in your blood. An elevated IgG4 concentration indicates a strain on the immune
system. Food intolerances often leads to the body being overexposed, which causes the immune system to become
stressed and exhausted. As long as the intestinal barrier is intact, you should not get any reaction. This means that your
results may indicate an elevated concentration of IgG4 without you experiencing any symptoms.

Chronic load on the intestine can lead to what is called a "leaky gut", i.e. the intestinal barrier becomes more permeable.
Unwanted substances can then permeate the intestinal mucosal barrier, into the blood stream, and then bind to
antibodies, which can cause a number of different inflammatory symptoms.

The symptoms of food intolerances can sometimes be difficult to link with the food as a reaction can appear anywhere
from a few hours to several days after ingestion and often develops gradually over time. Regular consumption of a food
can thus also lead to constant symptoms.

Next step - What should you do now?

At elevated levels in combination with symptoms, one may suspect a disturbance in the intestinal barrier or a difficulty in
breaking down the food correctly. To reduce or completely improve the symptoms, we can recommend a an elimination
diet or a rotation diet, possibly in combination with the intake of substances that support digestion and/or aid in healing
of the intestine.

An elimination or rotation diet should be carried out for 1-9 months, depending on the type of reaction involved and
severity of symptoms, and to give the intestine time to recover. If there are no symptoms despite a high value on the test,
you do not need to change your diet.

At normal values but showing symptoms

In some cases, people may experience symptoms even though the test shows normal values. It can be due to a number
of different reasons. One reason may be that instead of a food intolerance it could be an allergy or an allergic
crossreaction. It may also be that you instead react to specific substances such as biogenic amines (histamine,
tryptamine, tyramine, serotonin, phenylethylamine). If this is not the case, you can further investigate whether there is a
gluten or lactose intolerance, or fructose malabsorption causing your symptoms.

Did you get very many reactions on your test?

Food intolerances are a secondary problem that primarily comes from gastrointestinal imbalances. Eliminating what is
disturbing is always the most important thing to give the stomach / intestines a break and to enable healing. If you
suspect indigestion, you can supplement with digestive enzymes, hydrochloric acid or bitter herbs. If there is a
disturbance in the intestinal mucosa, you can support the healing of the intestinal mucosa with glutamine and/or
lecithin. If you want more in-depth answers to elucidate the cause, there are gut health / microbiome tests that measure
these factors.

How to use your results

• You can continue to eat foods from Class 0 to 2 unless you experience a reaction to them. In that case, you should eat
them less often (rotation diet).
• Foods in Class 3 or 4 and to which you show some kind of reaction, you should eat less often (rotation diet).
• Foods in Class 5 or 6 and to which you show a strong reaction, you should eliminate from your diet for 1-9 months.

All types of foods that you show a strong reaction to, you should eliminate from your diet for 1-9 months. Keep in mind
that if you exclude many substances, you may be malnourished. In that case, seek the help of a dietitian or nutritional
therapist.

Rotation diet
A rotation diet means that you rotate the foods you eat so that you do not eat the same food more than every four days,
in some cases even less often. It makes it easier if you have a set diet plan for what you can eat, day by day. Day five, you
can eat the substance or substances you ate on day 1 again, if you choose a four-day rotation diet.

When changing your diet, keep in mind that a lot can happen in the body and there can be a shift in the microbiome, so
you may experience that the symptoms initially get worse, or that new symptoms appear for a while. However, this
should be a transient phase.

Reintroduction of foods
When it's time for you to reintroduce the foods you have completely eliminated, remember to do so gradually in small
amounts at first. Start with those that have given you the least symptoms, and preferably wait four days to a week
before reintroducing the next one to see how you react.

This test does not replace a medical consultation. Always seek medical attention if you experience severe symptoms.
