Sample essay (written by Lam Ngọc):

There has been much debate regarding the prediction that robots will become more common over
time in accordance with their undisputable versatility. Although this prompts an increase in
living standard, disadvantages towards economic growth and employment are unavoidable.

Granted, since the invention of robots, our standard of living has been on the increase for the
advantages that they possess. The first thing to mention is that robots are adaptable and have vast
resources of knowledge installed in them. As a reliable consultant, robots can effortlessly resolve
all students’ academic problems which fosters significant developments in their performances.
Another point worth entailing is that a robot can do repetitive tasks infallibly and rapidly, making
it multiple times more efficient than a human, in comparison. For instance, Facteon, a long
established and widely respected intelligent technology enterprise, has built their first assembly
line since 2018 in which the manufacture involves no humans.

On the other hand, the speedy development of robots would lead to the occurrence of many
difficulties. Humans being replaced by robots would result in high and rising unemployment as
the labor supply is no longer demanded. This particularly poses a huge threat to economic
growth as it antecedes negative long-term effects, including high persistence of unemployment.
Technology dependence risks should also be taken into account by virtue of an aggravation in
creativity as people would rely heavily on robots, rather than solving the problem of their own
accord.

In conclusion, whilst the gradually increasing popularity of robots has certain benefits, the
demerits of it are proven to exist in parallel. Balancing both of these should be prioritized to
make the most out of the flexibility of robots.
