Analysis and discussion of Case Studies (10% of the final grade)

RELEVANT INFORMATION
Students will create their own groups of 3-4 members and self-select themselves in a
group in CANVAS by February 3, 2024.

TASK DESCRIPTION
Each group will analyse and submit 5 case studies throughout the course (2 points each)

REPORT SUBMISSION AND CLASS DISCUSSION


The case is announced via CANVAS one week before the deadline.
Each group submits the reports of all case studies via CANVAS before the deadline (a
two-page written summary for each case in PDF format).
Only one document must be submitted per group, and it must include the names of all
group members.
Late submissions and submissions by email will not be accepted.
Participation in the discussion of the case study in class is an essential part of the
evaluation of this assessment component.
Teams selected at random may be asked to lead the discussion.

TO PREPARE THE CASE STUDIES, USE THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

 Carefully read the assigned case.


 Identify key issues managers need to address.
 Perform an appropriate analysis and apply relevant concepts, theoretical models,
or analytical tools from the course to better understand the case situation.
 Use additional information from business periodicals, news, web sites, etc. to
back up your arguments.
 Discuss your findings and ideas with your teammates.
 Prepare the answers to the assigned questions and propose some
recommendations that follow logically from the analysis.
 Justify your points of view using relevant theoretical concepts, illustrative
examples, and supporting evidence.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA FOR THE CASE STUDIES:


 Demonstrated thorough understanding of the case facts.
 Focus on analysis of issues, accurate use of examples, evidence, and/ or
additional materials to illustrate the links between theory and practice.
 Appropriate and accurate content, effectively addressed questions, properly used
concepts, and clear line of arguments.
 Accurate use of references, graphs, and tables/diagrams.
 Class discussion: the team members should show understanding of the topic,
speak clearly, and communicate effectively.
