DISCIPLINE • GOOD TASTE • EXCELLENCE

Solution:
1. Label the illustration.

3. Therefore, the angle of elevation of a mountain is 𝟏𝟓°𝟓𝟕’.

Example 2:
B. Solving the height:

A guy wire 100 feet long is attached to

the top of a tree, making an angle of 37 0

Solution:
1. Draw and label the illustration.

2. Solve the height of a tree.

Since the given are the Hypotenuse and

distance AB are parallel and the
line of sight of the observer to the
ship AC is the transversal, so thus
the angle of depression 310 and
∠ A (in the fig) are alternate interior

3. Solution 4. Solution What I Can Do:

sin 27° = 𝑥 12.192
200 cos 45° = 1. R = 35.67 ft.
𝑥
𝑥 = sin 27°( 200) 𝑥𝑐𝑜𝑠 45° = 12.192 2. O = 55.83 ft.
𝑥 = 90.798 𝑚 𝑜𝑟 90.80𝑚 12.192 3. D = 80 44’
𝑥 = cos 45°
𝑥 = 17.24 𝑚 4. I = 7.79 m
5. G =192.32 m
5. Solution: 6. U = 5.1 m
5 7. T = 620 53’
tan 36° = 8. E = 83.9 ft.
𝑥
𝑥𝑡𝑎𝑛 36° = 5
𝑥= 5 RODRIGO R. DUTERTE
tan 36°
𝑥 = 6.88𝑚

Additional Activity:
1. Find the nearest degree, the angle the ladder makes with the
𝑜𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑒
wall. 2. TOA = Tanϴ =
𝑎𝑑𝑗𝑎𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑡
3. Tan ϴ = 15 ~ 2.5
6
4. ϴ = 68.20 or 680
5. Therefore the angle of ladder to the nearest degree is 680.
