Unit 4 week 3
Unit 4 week 3
Realistic Fiction
Realistic fiction is a made-up story
that could really happen. It has
characters, a setting, and events that
make up the beginning, middle, and
end of the story. Realistic fiction often
has a
theme, or big idea about life. To
determine the theme:
• as you read, stop at different points
and ask yourself what the story is
about so far.
• connect events to find out how they
are related.
• after reading, ask yourself what message the author wants you to learn.
