Daily Weekly Journaling
Daily Weekly Journaling
It's our first day of deployment. My fellow practice teachers from the University of
Pangasinan gathered first before we went to the principal's office for orientation. After that, we
went to the faculty room of the English department for orientation and assigning cooperating
teachers. I was assigned to Mrs. Lorena Ungos as my critic teacher or my cooperating teacher.
Throughout the day, I observed how she managed the class. It was insightful and enriching. It
provided a deeper understanding of the teaching profession, the challenges educators face, and
the strategies employed to ensure effective learning.
On my second day of classroom observation, I felt more at ease and familiar with the
learning environment. I took note of how the teacher managed the class and engaged the
students. I observed the different teaching strategies used, from interactive discussions to
group activities, which kept the students actively participating.I also paid attention to how
students responded to the lesson. Some were eager to answer questions, while others needed
encouragement. The teacher provided guidance and support, ensuring that everyone had a
chance to learn. I gained more insights into effective classroom management and lesson
delivery.
When I stepped into the classroom, I felt a mix of excitement and fear. My hands were
shaking, and my heart was pounding. I worried about forgetting my words or making mistakes
in front of the students. Despite my nervousness, I took a deep breath and started the lesson. At
first, my voice was shaky, but as I saw students listening and responding, I slowly gained
confidence. I encouraged them to participate, and their enthusiasm helped me relax.
I made a few mistakes, but I kept going. By the end of the lesson, I realized that teaching
wasn’t as scary as I had imagined. It felt rewarding to share knowledge and see students learn.
This experience taught me that fear is normal, but facing it makes us stronger. Now, I look
forward to every lesson, knowing that each one will help me grow as a teacher.
