 Introduction:
Here it is my desire that you will explore the sensuality,
eroticism & power of the Goddess Lilith. She is an
archetypal power that can be discovered within yourself.
May this be the beginning of your liberation. May this
initiation and empowerment empower you to stand in
your own power. Let it bring rebirth and honor, let it
initiate you and allow you to fully express your personal
freedom and sexual passion. Rise up in strength and
reclaim your own divinity as the Goddess you are.

The Dark Goddess

The Dark Goddess aspect is greatly misunderstood and
refers the great cycle known as the Dark of the Moon.
This is your Shadow self. In Lilith – Artemisia writes: I
encourage you to go inside your Shadow self.
 This Shadow self represents the part of the feminine
psyche that has been outcast, suppressed, denied, feared,
and abused since ancient times, like Lilith. Through
anger, outrage, rebellion and acceptance of the feelings
brought up through our invocation of Lilith, we go
through a healing crisis and grow spiritually. Through
experiencing and accepting Lilith, we become able to
integrate our Shadow self, our irrational, cycling with
the moon, intuitive, feeling, in the dark of the night, the
dark of the subconscious, the darkness of our wombs,
the powerful monthly bleeding, our sensuous, sexual
sacred bodies, back into ourselves and our
understanding of femininity and become whole again.

Warning:
While Lilith can be a most exquisitely powerful
goddess for the contemporary woman, heed my
warning; independence and unfounded rage can be
taken too far, become destructive and no longer useful.
So always remember the rule of three whatever you do
good or bad will come back to ye times three.

Lilith Fair:
In the more recent past, The Sarah McLachlan-
founded Lilith Fair tour brought together 2 million
people over its three-year history and raised more
than $7 million for charities. It was the most
successful all-female music events in history, one of
the biggest music festivals of the 1990s, and helped
launch the careers of several well-known female
artists. I attended an open-air Lilith Fair concert in
St. Louis and the energy was simply amazing.

Ancient Lilith
Lilith ( Lili, Lilin, Lillake, Lilutu, Lillet ) represents the
fundamental ethic of female opportunity. She is
Queen of Heaven, Consort of the Gods, Sumerian
Goddess, and Princess Daughter of the King &
Queen of the Netherworld. She is rightfully the
Sophia, the Portrayal of the Holy Spirit and the
Epitome of Wisdom.
 Earliest representations of Lilith are of a great
winged bird goddess. In ancient Sumerian history,
Lilith is the wind spirit of the great Goddess Ninlil
(wife of Enlil), Goddess of the Grain, Queen of
Heaven, Lady of the Air, and Mother of the Moon.
Ninlil bestowed the divine right of rulership in
ancient Sumeria. As the “hand of Inanna”, Lilith was
notorious for bringing men from the street and
fields of war to Inanna’s temple for holy sexual rites,
in which the intention was to civilize the people.
The sacred sexual customs were, in fact, considered
the greatest gift of Inanna.

Lilith was a powerful Hebrew Goddess of liberation

and independence. She was the first wife of Adam.
In the Alpha Betha of Ben Sira, it is explained that
conflict arose because Adam tried to assert himself
by demanding that Lilith lie beneath him.
 Lilith, who considered herself to be Adams Equal,
refused to be subordinate and departed from Adam
to the Garden of Eden and was condemned by God.

Like Eve and all woman who possess willfulness

will always pose a threat to men and to the divinely
misappropriate state of affairs defined by men as the
true source of evil in this world.

This is not a story of sexual relations but a story how

Lilith refused to give up her power.

As a result of her insubordination and

independence Lilith has been considered a figure of
darkness, evil and demonic. Her dark wisdom and
her sexual energy have been viewed as very
threatening. Lilith’s association with the
owl symbolizes the feminine aspect, the moon and
magick.
 Lilith is also a goddess of death and transformation.
There may have been a connection between Lilith and
the Etruscan divinity Leinth, who had no face and who
waited at the gate of the underworld along with Eita and
Persipnei, (Hades and Persephone) to receive the souls of
the dead. The underworld gate was a yoni and a lily,
which had no face. Admission into the underworld was
often mythologized as a sexual union. The lilu, (lotus)
was the Great Mother's flower - yoni, whose title forms
Lilith's name.

The lotus, an exquisite flower than grows out of the

dark, rank, decaying earth, represents spiritual
unfolding and the blossoming of the heart of
wisdom. Like the lotus, Lilith challenges us to look
upon our dark side and incorporate it into our
wholeness so that our great beauty can blossom
forth.
Lilith is both powerful and sexual. In fact she is known
as the personification of female sexuality. The
Goddess of Sexuality for pleasures sake, not for
reproductions sake.

Lilith Today
The traditional ways in which Lilith interacted with
her followers in ancient times have been forever lost to
us. However, modern thinkers such as Demetra George
and Betty De Shong Meador, provide us with though-
provoking guides to interacting with Lilith in a positive,
healing manner. They encourage all modern women, as
part of their spiritual growth, to go within and find their
Shadow self. This Shadow self represents the part of the
feminine psyche that has been outcast, suppressed,
denied, feared, and abused since ancient times, like Lilith.

To Pass Attunement to Others:

When you are of right mind and pure of heart,
ask for assistance from your guides, the Great
Mother and the Gods/Goddesses you will
receive the initiation...
 In Person:
1. Open the student’s crown chakra with your hands
2. State your Intent to Pass Goddess Lilith Initiation.
3. Then place your hands on student’s shoulders and
energies will flow.

From A Distance:
State I ask that (name) be attuned to Goddess Lilith
energy on (date) at (time) in his/her time zone. The
strongest possible energy they can handle. Let this
energy flow without interruption. May this be used for
the good of all. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
And so it is.

The energy will begin to flow and last for 15 to 30

minutes. That is all there is to it! Please instruct
student to wait two days before initiating others.
