1.1.2. The Purpose of the Supply Chain

Mục tiêu chung của mọi chuỗi cung ứng là tối đa hóa giá trị chuỗi cung ứng (lợi ích dư thừa chuỗi cung ứng).

- The purpose of every supply chain is to maximize supply chain value (supply chain surplus).

Chi phí chuỗi cung ứng

Giá trị dư thừa chuỗi cung ứng Giá trị mang lại cho khách hàng

Supply chain surplus = Value for customers - Supply chain costs

Study

Requirement: If you are working for a company that produce household products
or is a supplier of raw materials for any product. Choose a type of product and
draw a supply chain network diagram for this product.

Note: The diagram should extend to suppliers and customers at least two levels.

14
1.4 Supply Chain Members

1. Manufacturer and Supplier

2. Distributor
3. Retailer
4. Customer

5. Service Provider

- The roles of the members participating in the supply chain

are relative. A business can play the role of a central
company, a supplier or a customer.

- An entity can participate in the Supply Chain in many

different roles.
For example: in Food Supply Chain, Coopmart is both a customer (of cooperatives, food processing
companies, etc.) and a supplier (of supermarket shoppers, stores importing food from supermarkets,
etc.)
