Present Simple

Present Simple is a tense used to talk about habitual actions and


general truth. Look at the examples below:

a. Verbal Sentences

2. Adverb of Frequency
always (selalu) I always go to school.
usually (biasanya) Geo usually wakes up late.
often (sering) She often plays truant.
sometimes (kadang-kadang) I sometimes visit my grandmother
seldom (jarang) We seldom go to mall.
never (tidak pernah) I never lie.
3 days a week (3 hari per minggu) I swim three days a week.
twice a month (dua kali sebulan) He washes the car twice a month.
8 hours a day (8 jam per hari) I study eight hours a day.
every day (setiap hari) Angel takes a bath every day.
every month (setiap bulan) She buys some vegetables every month.
three times a week (tiga kali seminggu) They visit LC three times a week.
3. Imperative Sentences in Present Simple

An imperative sentence is a sentence that gives order. This sentence uses Verb I,
and the verb appears in the beginning of the sentence. Look at the examples below:

c. Don’t be late!
d. Do not litter!
e. Give this book to your friend!
f. Keep the bathroom clean!
