DAILY LESSON LOG DAY 15- Copy
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
a. Find the probability of simple event;
b. Solve problems involving probability of simple event; and
c. Cite ways finding probability used in real-life situations.
Content Standards:
Performance Standards:
III. Procedures
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill
Prayer
Greetings
Checking of Attendance
Checking of Assignment
Dissemination of Classroom Rules
2. Review
The teacher will ask the students about the previous lesson
The teacher will ask the students about what they have learned
about the previous lesson
3. Motivation
The teacher will introduce a game called “JUMBLE-RUMBLE.” a.
The teacher will divide the class into 5 groups
b. Flash some jumbled letters on the board and learners will
arrange the letters to find the right term for its definition.
c. After 5 minutes, the teacher will let the students exchange their
outputs with other groups to check if their answer are correct.
B. Answer:
1. PROBABILITY 6. CARDINALITY
2. EXPERIMENT 7. SIMPLE EVENT
3. SAMPLE SPACE
4. EVENT
5. OUTCOMES
Lesson Proper
1. Activity
a. The teacher will pose a question to the class: “If a pregnant woman
will give birth to a child, what is the probability that the child is a
male?”
b. Ask the learners about the chance or the probability that the event
will occur.
2. Analysis
After the discussion, the teacher will ask the students the question
below.
a. Have the learners identify what event does the situation implied
to.
b. From the tasks given where events are identified and finding the
probability of these events, the learners will be able to tell the
lesson for the day: Probability of Simple and Compound
Events.
3. Abstraction
a. Guide the learners in finding the probability of simple event:
Simple event - if each of the outcome in a sample space is
equally to occur, then the probability of an event E, denoted
as P(E) is given by:
number of favorable outcomes
P(E) =
number of possible outcomes
b. Provide these five problems involving finding the probability of
simple events.
4. Application
C. Concluding Activities
1. Valuing
Ask the following questions:
a. How is probability used in real-life situations?
b. In this life, what do we need to increase the probability of achieving
success in every endeavor?
2. Generalization
Have the learners tell how to find the probability of simple event.
Simple event - if each of the outcome in a sample space is equally to
occur, then the probability of an event E, denoted as P(E) is given by:
number of favorable outcomes
Probability (Event) =
number of possible outcomes
IV. Evaluation
1. What is the probability of choosing a vowel from the alphabet?
2. Choose a number at random from 1 to 10.
a. What is the probability of each outcome?
b. What is the probability that the number chosen is even?
V. Assignment
Have the learners answer these problems involving simple event.
Compute the probability of the following questions.
1. Mia’s box contains 3 blue balls, 6 green balls, and 9 red balls. If a ball is
picked at random from the box, what is the probability that a ball picked is a
(a) green ball and (b) blue ball?
2. A single 6-sided die is rolled.
(a) What is the probability of getting 2?
