4. Check the working of interlocks in the hydra.
3 Inspection of crane
1. Failure of any interlocks 5. Check the working of SLI & anti two blocking device in hydra. Site Engineer/ Safety TPI Doc + Load Chart +
6. Ensure periodic maintenace of hydra without fail. Supervisor Check Lists - Hydra
7. Perform the MPT of hydra hooks for any cracks/ defects.
8. Note & ensure next due/ renewal date for inspection/ testing.
9. Check the conditions of tyres of hydra.
10. Check the air pressure of tyre as per standard for hydra.
1. Ensure the surface area are level & compact.
2. Only competant operator should operate the hydra.
3. Ensure Heavy Motor Vehicle Licence for hydra operator.
4. Operator should be medically fit and vision test to be included in the medical test.
5. Barricate the working area & restrict the un-authorised entry & movement.
6. Ensure hard barrication of the working area & display caution board.

3. Ensure lifting plan as per load chart of hydra.
4. Hard barrication must be provided around working area.
5. Warning/ cautionary/ sign boards shall be provided for avoiding of un-authorised movements & entry.
6. Deploy authorised & competent operator for the hydra operations.
7. Operator shall be trained on defensive driving, lifting loads by crane & HEMM as per the UTCL standard.
8. Hydra shall be used for lifting & lowering only. No marching of hydra with load allowed.
9. No work in bad weather , heavy rain, high wind & poor visibility.
10. Ensure prope illumination during working.
11. Dont over load the hydra more than 80% of capacity.
12. Operator should be medically fit & vision test to be included in medical test.
13. Barricate the working area & restrict the un-authorised entry & movement.
14. Ensure the use of guide rope of minimum 3 Mtr from load on both side during lifting.
15. Ensure proper approach/ access to the working area.
16. Ensure signalling to hydra operator by single person only.
17. Ensure the presence/ supervision of competant rigger/ supervisor while lifting.
18. Ensure the use of equal length slings during lifting of loads.
19. Ensure proper illumination & stop the work in case of poor visibility.
20. Maintain clear communication among the persons involved in the activity.
21. Presence of site supervisor & safety officer.
22. Enagage competeant rigger foreman for the job.

26. Ensure the usage of right capacity of slings & D-shackles based on the lifting loads.
27. No persons below the lifted/ suspened load.
28. Use tested tools/ tackles with TPI & valid test certificates.
29. Ensure proper rigging methods for sling arrangements during lifting to maintain the CG of load.
30. Guide rope to be provided mimium 3 mtrs away from lifted loads.
31. Provide rubber packings for slings during lifting.
32. Ensure proper packing member/ wooden sleepers for materials during shifting from fabrication beds.
33. Ensure the rigidity of loads before derigging the loads.
34. Take care of fingers & any body parts during de-rigging/ resting the loads.
35. Maintain clear communications between persons involved in the activity.
36. Signalling to crane operator by single person only.
37. Ensure the safe approach/ access for putting& removal of slings & D-shackles
during rigging & de-rigging.
38. Ensure the use of double lanyard full body harness with anchorage belt while working at height.
39. Use tested & standard ladders for apporach & access to the working area.
40. Ensure trained & competent persons are engaged in the activity.
41. Ensure proper communication among the workers while lifting.
42. Check for any loose materials/ tools on loads before lifting the load.
43. All the materilas shall be shifted by tractor trolley/ trailor only.
44. Open type trailors/ trolleys shall have the stopper arrangements.
45. Materials on trailor shall be secured properly.

Concerned Engineer Contractor Supervisor

1 This Safe work procedure shall be prepared by owner department countersigned by working agency / contract’s representative.
2 Sequence of work shall involve step-by-step jobs.
3 All possible hazards including proximity hazard shall be identified.
4 With the change of working condition, the procedure shall be amended and persons shall be trained accordingly.
5 Review on status of implementation shall be done through observation and / or site severity audit.
6 Before start of the job, induction shall be given to persons engaged at site by departmental representative and subsequent daily induction shall be given by Working agency / Contractor’s Representative.
7 Safety Officer can verify as part of audit on adequacy and level of compliance to this SWP.

8 Tentative job is defined as non-routine job which is being undertaken either by Contractor’s or Company employees on demand basis and for which there is no any documented Safe work procedure under QS/EHS system.

5 Review on status of implementation shall be done through observation and / or site severity audit.
6 Before start of the job, induction shall be given to persons engaged at site by departmental representative and subsequent daily induction shall be given by Working agency / Contractor’s Representative.
7 Safety Officer can verify as part of audit on adequacy and level of compliance to this SWP.

8 Tentative job is defined as non-routine job which is being undertaken either by Contractor’s or Company employees on demand basis and for which there is no any documented Safe work procedure under QS/EHS system.
