METHOD STATEMENT FOR KEE LINE INSTALLATION ON METAL ROOFS

Site Name: TUWAIQ FORGING PLANT, JUBAIL Date: 13/11/2024

Location/Area: RAS AL KHAIR INDUTRIAL AREA

SCOPE OF WORK (Purpose/Project description)

Scope of work for the following RAMS is to elaborate the procedure of the Fall Arrest system installation with their
component and testing procedure on cat ladder of the Tuwaiq Forging plant facility .

PROCEDURE / METHOD TO BE EMPLOYED

All works carried out will be in accordance with site Health & Safety regulations and Kee Safety Company Policies.

1. All operatives will attend all Fanar steel induction and Kee Safety specific inductions with a Method Statement and
Risk Assessment briefing prior to commencing works on-site. All operatives will sign Method Statement / Risk
Assessment.
2. Before work starts the Kee Safety installation manager Amjad islam will carry out a Dynamic Risk Assessment (DRA)
of the work area. The DRA is an internal Kee Safety Document the operatives must complete in conjunction with
this method statement and attached risk assessment. It will allow changes to site conditions to be documented
daily and the RAMS(risk assessment method statement) to be reviewed if and when required. All Major Safety
concerns, hazards and or unsafe acts in the work area will be reported to the site HSE and Kee Safety operation
manager immediately. All work will stop until the safety precautions are in place and the area is safe for everyone.

3. Access and egress will be via ladders . in case of any medical emergency, Kee safety will follow main contractor
protocols.
4. For installation, operatives will need to have correct PPE which includes Safety Helmet (Vertex Best), suitable,
Glasses, Gloves, Hi-Viz Vest and Steel toe safety shoes.

5. Additional requirement, operatives will also have PFPE (personal fall protection equipment) full body harness, 2m
twin leg lanyard. Each operative will only require the use of their PFPE if working within 3 meters of an exposed
edge including Roof Skylights.
6. Once worker on roof, installation head will explain the all potential hazard to the workers with their control
measures, remove any possible slip and trip hazard in work location.
Approved shop drawing should be kept with supervisor and orientation of the life line should be decided with client prior
execution, in standard generic method vertical lifeline is installed in center of rungs ,so while climbing , the travellor will
remain Infront of chest. works will be followed as per below installation Guide step by step

HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• All works shall be performed in accordance with the Kee safety HSE Manual and Main Contractor Health and
Safety Requirements.
• Exclusion zones below the workplace at Ground level shall be cordon off with hard barricades.
• Site Engineer/Supervisor will ensure that appropriate PPE or Personal Protective Equipment is worn by site
personnel at all times complying with Dussan PPE Procedure.
• Prior to commencement of any activity, all operatives will be given in a general Site Safety Induction by the
HSE Personnel, the Site Engineer/Supervisors including HSE Personnel will also conduct Tool Box Talk and
Method Statement briefings to the personnel involved in operation.
• PPE is mandatory for all workers and staff personnel consist of safety boots/shoes, safety helmet, cotton
gloves, Hi-visibility jacket/vest and goggles. Full body harness is required and 100% tie off has to be maintained
for those working at heights above 1.8 meters. Lanyard with shock absorber will be used if working at height
above 6 meters. All used lifting equipment will have valid third-party certificates.
• Where required handrail or for edge protection will be provided and if it’s not practicable, safety harness at
different locations where applicable will be used by the operatives attach or fixed on the anchor points. 100%
tie off policy has to be complied while working at height. All work at height activities has to be complied in
accordance with the RSG Work at height procedure.
• In the event of accident or incident, immediately notify the HSE/Project Manager or HSE Personnel at site.
• In case of fire/emergency, immediately evacuate from the work area and go to designated Site Assembly
Point.

QHSE DOCUMENTS AND RECORDS

a. Risk Assessment (RA)

In reference to the Method Statement, all health & safety hazards and environmental impacts associated
with the site activities will be evaluated as to the level of threat they pose in a uniform and quantitative
manner. Consequently, controls can be applied in a hierarchical way commensurate with the level of
hazard, affording the best use of resources to protect people, equipment & materials and the
environment. The procedure shall be applied to all site activities and processes with regards to the
possibility of potential harm to any person having access to the workplace, the environment or damage
to equipment & materials.

The strategy is to focus on primary Hazards. RA should then provide the majority of information needed
for all routine work activities to be conducted on site, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

b. Inspection & Test Plan (ITP)

The ITP shall set out in matrix format the sequence of inspection steps, the governing Document
(approved shop drawings, specification, standard, etc.), the standard to be achieved, the persons
witnessing and the supporting documents to be produced.

c. Work Inspection Request (WIR)

Upon completion of each section of work, Site QAQC Engineer/Inspector and Site Engineer/Supervisor
will carry out an inspection of the work according to the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP). Completed
checklist sheets will be submitted to the Engineer/Consultant for approval.
When all the installation works under the contract are completed or where phased hand over is
required and when the relevant phase is complete, the Project Manager/Site Engineer shall request the
company QAQC Engineer/Inspector to carry out preliminary inspection of the finished works to ensure
that all elements are ready for inspection by the Engineer/ Consultant.
