OBJECTIVE 2:

Used research-based knowledge and principles of teaching and learning to

enhance professional practice.

ANNOTATION:

For this objective, I have attached one lesson plan which uses the 4 A’s
Approach. This approach encourages active learning, independent learning,
experiential learning, and cooperative learning. In its parts where there are the
Activity, Analysis, Abstraction and Application, this approach to teaching asserts that
a learner gains and builds knowledge through experiences.

Through a learning activity, learners experience and acquire new knowledge

and skills in First A (Activity). Linking new knowledge and skills to existing experience
can be manifested in Second A (Analysis). Learners need time to process or analyze
their experiences. New knowledge and skills have to be linked to what they already
know and can do. They have to think about how they can use their new knowledge
and skills. In the Third A (Abstraction), there are demonstrating/ generalizing new
skills. Through processing or analyzing their new experiences and linking them with
existing
experiences, learners begin to demonstrate new understandings and apply new skills.
This is a process of generalization or abstraction. The final stage (Application) in the
learning model is the practical application and trying out of new skills and learning.
Successful application leads to learners beginning a new activity and beginning a new
4A cycle. https://www.deped.gov.ph/als-est/PDF/ALS-EST_Handbook_Chapter06.pdf

In my lesson where the students will be viewing a video clip and trying to
explain what they see in the video already elicits own life experiences from them as
they try to connect it to the lesson on the structure of houses in the Philippines and
leading it to the discussion on the structure of expository writing in which a house is
like an exposition. From a video to sharing life’s experiences can already gather
interest from students leading to the effectiveness of its result.

OBJECTIVE 16:

Applied a personal philosophy of teaching that is learner-centered

ANNOTATION:

In the philosophy of Constructivism in teaching, a teacher seeks and values the

point of view of students. In my attached lesson, the teacher allows students to give
their point of view regarding a topic. The teacher gathers their answers and gives
them a follow up about their answers. In this manner, the teacher gives a chance to
the students in trying to bring out their assumptions regarding a topic or issue. This
elicits critical thinking.

sure that they have no ethical exploitations. The teacher has chosen them wisely for
the benefit of the viewers or audience.

In the Application part where there are various activities to be accomplished by

the students, the teacher lets the students work independently after instructions are
set by the teacher. She will let them work the manner they have understood the
