Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate
the correct answer to each of the questions.
Online harassment and threats are not a new phenomenon, but the degree to which these are
directed at women and girls has begun to receive increased attention from news media, academia
and law enforcement.

2
Forms of harassment can vary widely, from name-calling and trolling to persistent stalking and
shaming to outright sexual and death threats. To some degree, the problem is structural and dates
back to the Internet’s early days: The Telecommunications Act of 1996 allowed operators of
websites to avoid liability for what users post, although the limits of this continue to be tested in
the courts and many aspects of the Communications Decency Act provision are not entirely settled.
But it remains the case that the wide-open environment that enables creativity, innovation and
vigorous debate online paradoxically also enables derogatory, anonymous speech for which there
is often little legal recourse. Because of the volume of data and information they deal with, many
Internet and social media companies struggle to articulate and enforce standards, even on more
obvious issues such as the online messaging of violent extremists. Most warn that death threats,
for example, are not protected by free speech, but banning users in an environment with anonymity
is a challenge. In particular, the problems inherent on the microblogging platform Twitter, which,
unlike Facebook, allows for anonymity, have been playing out publicly. Meanwhile, the controversy
at Reddit that resulted in the resignation of CEO Ellen Pao in July 2015 again raises, among other
things, issues over online harassment and the complex dynamics of addressing it.
As the totality and intensity of the harassment is being better understood, scholars have even
begun to see this phenomenon as a profound civil rights issue for women and other groups such as
racial minorities. Persistent threats can not only diminish well-being and cause psychological
trauma but can undercut career prospects and the ability to function effectively in the marketplace
and participate in democracy.

1. It is estimated that about 40 per cent of the world's population uses social media, and many of
these billions of social media users look up to influencers to help them decide what to buy and what
trends to follow. An influencer is a person who can influence the decisions of his or her followers
because of his or her knowledge or special knowledge in a particular area, e.g. fashion, travel, or
technology. Influencers are now seen by many companies as a direct way to customers' hearts.
Brands are now asking for powerful influencers to market their products. With some influencers
charging up to $25,000 for one social media post, it is no surprise that more and more people are
keen to become influencers, too. If you are one of them, then here are five tips on how to do it.
2. Choose your niche: What is the area that you know most about? What do you feel most excited
about talking about? Find the specific area that you are most interested in and develop it.
3. Choose your medium and write an interesting bio: Most influencers these days are bloggers
and micro-bloggers. Decide which medium – such as your own online blog, Instagram or Snapchat
– is the best way to connect with your followers and chat about your niche area. When you have
done that, write an attention-grabbing bio that describes you and your specialty area in an
interesting and unique way. Make sure that people who read your bio will want to follow you.
4. Post regularly and consistently: Many influencers post daily on their social media accounts.
The more you post, the more likely people will follow you. Also, make sure that your posts are
consistent and possibly follow a theme.

4
5. Tell an interesting story: Whether it is a photo or a comment that you are posting, use it to tell
a story that will catch the attention of your followers and help them connect with you.
6. Make sure people can easily find your content: Publicize your posts on a variety of social
media with hashtags and catchy titles to make sure that they can be easily found. There is no point
in writing the most exciting blog posts or posting the most attractive photographs if no one is going
to see them.
7. Most importantly, if you want to become a social media influencer, you need to have patience.
Keep posting and your following will gradually increase. Good luck!

Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu (26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), commonly known as Mother Teresa
honored in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was an AlbanianIndian Roman Catholic
nun and missionary. She was born in Skopje (now the capital of North Macedonia), then part of the
Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. After living in Skopje for eighteen years, she moved to
Ireland and then to India, where she lived for most of her life.
In 1950, Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation that
had over 4,500 nuns and was active in 133 countries in 2012. The congregation manages homes
for people who are dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy, and tuberculosis. It also runs soup kitchens,
dispensaries, mobile clinics, children's and family counseling programs, as well as orphanages and
schools. Members take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, and also profess a fourth vow – to
give "wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor."

8
Teresa received several honors, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and 1979 Nobel
Peace Prize. She was canonized on 4 September 2016, and the anniversary of her death (5
September) is her feast day.

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate
the best answer to each of the questions.
Loud voices dismiss organic food as nothing more than a trendy 21st-century lifestyle choice for
the neurotic rich, but this is a phony argument. Nothing new or modern about organics – until the
1950s, all the food we ate was organically produced. Organic food should be considered “normal”,
not the upstart, factory-farmed, agrochemical stuff that’s only been on our shelves for a few
decades. The reasons for eating organic food, and supporting organic farmers and growers, are
becoming more compelling.

9
If health – your own or your family – is your main concern, then perhaps the biggest motivation is
limiting your exposure to the residues of pesticides routinely found in non-organic food. Pesticides
are poisons designed to kill things. Why eat them if you don’t have to?
The regulatory bodies responsible for public health parrot the chemical industry line that
we should not be the slightest bit alarmed that our food regularly contains residues of toxic
pesticides. Earlier this year, the International Agency for Research on Cancer ( IARC) – the World
Health Organization’s cancer agency – classified glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, and
the world’s most widely used herbicide, as “ probably carcinogenic to humans.”. By contrast,
pesticide residues are hardly ever found in organic food, and only through accidental
contamination with non-organic agriculture, because organic farmers aim for zero pesticide use.
When you choose organic food, you also get a cast-iron guarantee that your food is GM-free
because organically reared livestock cannot be fed on genetically modified feed. Evidence is
emerging to suggest that GM crops increase the use of pesticides, produce super-weeds and super-
pests, and compromise animal, and possibly human health. Looking beyond human health issues,
there are other powerful reasons for choosing organic. If animal welfare is a prime concern for you,
it’s worth noting that Compassion in World Farming ( CIWF), the world’s leading animal welfare
organization, “strongly supports organic as the best form of humane and sustainable agriculture.”
(Adapted from The Guardian)

D. There is growing evidence of the harmful effects of non-organic food.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has emerged as a critical global health challenge, affecting both
human and animal populations. This phenomenon arises primarily from the misuse and overuse
of antimicrobial agents, which has led to the development of resistant strains of bacteria. Notably,
AMR is not confined to any specific geographic area; it poses risks across all regions and income
levels, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where healthcare systems may be less
equipped to manage such threats.
The implications of AMR are profound. It complicates the treatment of common infections,
increases the risk associated with surgical procedures, and undermines advancements in medical
treatments such as chemotherapy. Alarmingly, an estimated 1.27 million deaths were directly

17
linked to AMR in 2019 alone. This situation is exacerbated by inadequate access to effective
antibiotics and a limited pipeline for new drug development.
Moreover, the environmental factors contributing to AMR cannot be overlooked. The presence of
resistant microorganisms in agricultural systems and food chains presents a potential route for
human exposure. Practices in food production, including the use of antimicrobials in livestock,
significantly influence the spread of resistant bacteria. Thus, ensuring good hygiene practices in
agriculture is essential for mitigating this risk.
To address AMR effectively, a comprehensive strategy is required. This includes enhancing
surveillance systems to monitor antibiotic usage and resistance patterns, promoting responsible
use of antimicrobials in both healthcare and agriculture and investing in research for new
treatment options. Additionally, a One Health approach—integrating human health, animal health,
and environmental considerations—is vital for tackling this multifaceted issue.
In light of these challenges, it is clear that combating AMR requires concerted efforts from
governments, healthcare providers, and the agricultural sector alike. By fostering collaboration
across these domains and implementing evidence-based policies, we can reduce the burden of
antimicrobial resistance and safeguard public health for future generations.

question from 41 to 45.
Hydrogen is increasingly recognized as a vital fuel for a sustainable future, thanks to its abundance,
versatility, and potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions. As the simplest and most
abundant element in the universe, hydrogen offers a clean-burning energy source that produces
only water vapor when combusted. This unique characteristic positions hydrogen as a promising
alternative to fossil fuels, especially in light of urgent environmental concerns and the need for
cleaner energy solutions.
One of the primary advantages of hydrogen lies in its production methods, which can be
categorized into grey, blue, green, and pink hydrogen. Grey hydrogen is produced from natural gas
through steam methane reforming but emits substantial CO2, raising sustainability issues. In
contrast, blue hydrogen also utilizes natural gas but incorporates carbon capture technologies to
reduce emissions. While blue hydrogen is cleaner than its grey counterpart, it still relies on fossil
fuels. The most sustainable option is green hydrogen, generated through electrolysis powered by
renewable energy sources like wind or solar. Although its production costs are currently higher
than those of grey and blue hydrogen, the environmental benefits it offers—zero CO2 emissions—
are undeniable. Pink hydrogen, produced using nuclear energy for electrolysis, presents another
low-emission option but raises concerns related to nuclear waste management.
The versatility of hydrogen extends beyond production methods; it can be utilized across various
sectors and applications. For instance, hydrogen can be harnessed in fuel cells for electricity and
heat generation, making it suitable for powering buildings and electric vehicles. This application
not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also contributes to cleaner urban environments.
Additionally, hydrogen serves as a crucial feedstock in industrial processes such as ammonia
production and refining. Its ability to decarbonize hard-to-electrify sectors like shipping and
steelmaking further highlights its importance in achieving global climate goals.
Moreover, hydrogen plays a significant role in energy storage solutions, addressing challenges
associated with the intermittency of renewable energy sources. By converting excess renewable
energy into hydrogen through electrolysis, we can store this clean energy for later use. This

19
capability ensures a steady supply of clean energy even when production fluctuates due to weather
conditions or changes in demand. Furthermore, hydrogen can be transported easily and utilized in
various applications, enhancing its role as a flexible energy carrier in an evolving energy landscape.
In conclusion, while challenges such as production costs and infrastructure development remain
obstacles to widespread adoption, the promise of hydrogen as a sustainable energy carrier is clear.
As innovation continues and production costs decline, hydrogen—especially green and pink
variants—will become increasingly significant in global energy systems. Embracing hydrogen not only
supports the transition toward cleaner energy but also enhances energy security by diversifying our
energy sources. Therefore, investing in hydrogen technology is essential for building a sustainable
future that prioritizes environmental health and economic resilience.
