For this project you will need to:

1) Complete an Amazing Mineral fact sheet.

You may select a mineral for this project. There are over 4,000 minerals from which to choose! You may want
to select a mineral that you’re familiar with, or you may want to learn about a mineral that is new to you.

You may investigate your mineral by using a variety of reference websites.

Your fact sheet must be neat and complete. Please provide a list of your sources on the bottom of your
information sheet. At least three sources are required.

2) Create an Amazing Mineral trading card.

The card must include all of the information from the fact sheet (sources not included). You must also include
a picture. Make your trading card neat and colorful.

Use the template below to create your card. If you want to use the computer, you may insert text boxes onto
the template.

Remember to include all of the information from your Fact Sheet, except the sources used.

 Capitalize each section to make your card easier to read. See the example below.
 Only the interesting fact must be written in a complete sentence.
 Be sure to include a colorful picture.

Making a trading card by hand:


1. Get a trading card template sheet
2. Write and draw in pencil first.
3. Add color.
4. Cut out the trading card.
5. Paste trading card on cardstock or construction paper.

Making a trading card on the computer:


1. Download the template below.
2. Insert text boxes for your information and insert your picture.
3. Save the file in your Science Folder of OneDrive.
4. Send to Mrs. Gammill to print or print from home. It needs to be in color.
5. Cut out and paste to cardstock or construction paper.
