The bar chart and pie chart provide information about the education levels in the city of Glasgow in

2010. The bar chart illustrates the percentages of education levels by age range and the pie chart shows
the education levels by gender.

Overall, the majority of the younger people graduated from a university. However, people who have no
qualifications were more common in the oldest group. There was not a big difference between men and
women in terms of education level.

Those who have a university degree were 71% percent in the age ranges of 16-24 and 35-50, reaching its
peak of 76% percent in the age group of 24-35. However, the percentage showed a gradual decrease,
respectively falling to 50% and 25% in the age ranges of 50-75 and 75+. On the other hand, the
percentage with no qualifications formed 9% of the three youngest people but jumped to 30% percent
between the ages of 50 and 75 and to 72% percent in those over 75. People with a school certificate
stayed around 15 and 20 percent but had a dramatic decrease reaching 3% in the group of 75+

The percentages of education levels in both genders were similar and around 30%. However, there was a
little difference between university graduates and those who have no qualifications.
