Title: Thirsty Crow
One hot summer day, a thirsty crow was searching for water. After flying for a long time, it finally spotted a tall pitcher with a little water at the
bottom. The crow tried to reach the water, but its beak couldn't touch it.The clever crow thought for a while and then came up with an idea. It
picked up small pebbles and dropped them into the pitcher one by one. Slowly, the water level rose higher and higher. Soon, the crow was
able to drink the water and quench its thirst.
Moral: Where there is a will, there is a way.

Listening and Speaking Instructions for the Teacher

The listening and speaking test will be conducted in groups one by one.
The teacher will ask the students to read all the questions given in "Instructions for the Students" before reading the paragraph.
The teacher will divide the class in to groups with an equal number of students. Preferably make groups of 4 to 5 students.
For each group, the teacher will read the following paragraph twice in front of the students.
The teacher will call the students one by one.
Each student will be asked one question from each of the following two groups.
The teacher will shuffle the questions for each student.
The teacher will make sure not to repeat questions to consecutive students.
The teacher will ask the students that their answers should be in complete sentence form.

Listening and Speaking Paragraph Text for the Teacher


Sea turtles are one of the biggest turtles. Their shell is often a very beautiful green and yellow colour. They like to eat seaweed and sea grass.
Some sea turtles can put their heads, legs and feet into their shell for protection. They can stay under water for five hours at a time. When
they lay eggs they crawl onto the beach and lay about one hundred eggs. They then cover them in sand and swim away. It takes about two
months for the eggs to hatch and for the turtles to make a run across the beach and back to the sea

Trees are very important for the environment. They give us oxygen, which we need to breathe. Trees also provide shade and homes for many
animals. Some trees grow fruits like apples, oranges, and mangoes. Their roots help hold the soil in place and prevent erosion. Trees can live
for many years, and some grow to be very tall. People plant trees to make the air cleaner and to beautify their surroundings. Taking care of
trees helps protect nature and keeps the planet healthy.

Deduct 1 mark for four pronunciation mistakes.
