Exchange Migration Project Documentation

➢ Installation

• Exchange Installation: We have Successfully installed Exchange 2019 with the latest CU and
SU on the new servers.

➢ Configuration and Testing

• Auth Certificate: We have Created a new Auth certificate, and the Queue Viewer is now
working successfully.

• Virtual Directories: We have Configured all virtual directories on the new servers.

• Certificate Import: We have Imported the public certificate into the new servers.

• DAG Creation: We have Created a new DAG and added the new servers as members.

• Outlook Connectivity: We have Tested Outlook connectivity on the client PC, which
connected successfully.

• Receive Connectors: We have Copied the receive connectors and their permissions to the
new servers.

• Database Creation: We have Created new databases on the new servers.

• IIS Configuration: Configured IIS restrictions for IIS and OWA on the new server to match the
old servers.

➢ Database and Server Migration

• Mailbox Migration: We have successfully migrated all the mailboxes to the new databases.

• Database Removal: We have Removed copies of the old databases and deleted the old
databases.

• DAG Removal: We have Removed the old servers from the old DAG and deleted the old
DAG.

• IP Configuration: We have Changed the IPs of the new servers to match the old Exchange
server IPs.
• Server Shutdown: Shut down the old servers until Exchange was uninstalled from them.

➢ Uninstallation and Health Check

• Uninstallation: We have Successfully uninstalled Exchange from the old servers.

• Health Check: Verified the health of the new servers; they are stable and functioning
smoothly.
