CHAPTER II

PRESENTATION, ANALYSES, AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter deals with the presentation, analyses, and interpretation of

the data gathered by the researchers from the responses of the 256 consumers

in Poblacion, Panglao. The gathered data was based on the results of the

questionnaires as pertains to the: E-wallet Consumer Preferences in Poblacion,

Panglao.

Table 1 presents the frequency and percentage of the e-wallet platforms

used by the 256 respondents in Poblacion, Panglao. Item no. 1 which is the

“Globe Cash (GCash)” obtained highest frequency of 187 with a percentage of

73.44% whish reveals that GCash are most widely used by the consumers.

Notably, Starpay had no users among the respondents. This indicates a

high level of digital payment adoption in Poblacion, Panglao, with almost all
respondents engaging in e-wallet usage, reflecting a growing preference for

cashless transactions in the community.

Table 2 presents the key factors influencing consumers use of e-wallets in

Poblacion, Panglao. The highest-rated factor is Speed and Convenience with a

weighted mean of 4.22, indicating that respondents strongly agree that e-wallet

provides a fast and accessible transaction experiences. This suggest that

efficiency is a top priority among users. Meanwhile, Cashback and Rewards

scored 4.00, the lowest among the three. But still within the “Agree” range-

implying that while incentives are appreciated, they are not the primary driver of

usage. The General Weighted mean of 4.09 confirms that, overall, respondents

are satisfied with the e-wallet features and functionalities, particularly in terms of

speed and security.

Table 3 presents the specific reasons why respondents choose to use e-

wallet. The top rated reason, with a weighted mean of 4.30, is “My friends, family,

or peers use it, making transactions easier.”. This emphasizes of social circles

and peer usage, suggesting that users are more likely to adopt e-wallets when

those around them use the same platforms. The lowest rated item, “It has low or
no transaction fees.” (4.00), still falls within the “Agree” category, suggesting that

while cost matters, it is less important than convenience, social influence and

utility. The General Weighted mean (4.13) shows that respondents are generally

satisfied with their reasons for using e-wallets, and that these reasons are

consistent across different aspects of the user experience.

Table 4 illustrates the level of overall consumer satisfaction with e-wallets

based on responses from each purok in Poblacion, Pangalo. The highest

satisfaction level is observed in Purok 3, with a weighted mean of 4.53, while

Purok 5 score the lowest at 3.62. The General Weighted Mean of 4.13 falls within

Strongly Agree, suggesting that the majority of consumers across all puroks are

very satisfied with their e-wallet experiences. This indicates a positive and

widespread acceptance of digital payment system in the locality.


CHAPTER III
SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This contains the summary, findings, and conclusion of the study. The

recommendations are presented with the objective of utilizing the results of this

delving.

Summary

This study was conducted to examine the e-wallet consumer preferences

in Poblacion, Panglao. The results were statistically calculated to determine the

level of e-wallet consumer preference in Poblacion, Panglao. There are 256

respondents who participated on the survey. Thus, the researchers made a mix

method type of questionnaire with ten (10) tabular questions. All the information

needed is collected by the researchers to support the general topic and to assess

the reader’s understanding of the importance of the topic. Before the researchers

conducted their study, they asked permission for the approval. Then after the

approval, the researchers conducted a pilot testing on the consumer in

Poblacion, Panglao. The gathered data were tabulated, computed, and treated

statistically using the weighted mean formula.

Findings

Based on the data gathered, the findings were revealed.


1. E-Wallet Preference:

In this context, GCash is the most commonly used e-wallet by 73.05% of

respondents. While Starpay is not used.

2. Factors Influencing E-Wallet Use:

In this context, the category Speed and Convenience the highest weighted

mean of 4.22 with the qualitative description of “Strongly Agree”. On the

other hand, Security and Fraud Protection garnered 4.04 with the

qualitative mean of “Agree”. While, Cashback and Rewards obtained the

least weighted mean of 4.00 with the qualitative description “Agree”. Thus,

the three categories garnered 4.09 as the overall weighted mean with the

qualitative description of “Agree”.

3. Reasons Behind Usage:

In this context, the highest weighted mean of 4.30 is the statement, “My

friends, family, or peers use it, making transactions easier”, with a qualitative

description “Strongly Agree”. On the other hand, the statement, “It has low or no

transaction fees.” obtained the least weighted mean of 4.00 with a qualitative

description of “Agree”.

4. Overall Satisfaction by Area (Purok):


In this context, Purok 3 reported the highest satisfaction at 4.53, while

Purok 5 had the lowest at 3.62. The overall average satisfaction score is 4.13,

indicating that most users are very satisfied with their e-wallet experience.

Conclusion

Based on the findings, the following conclusions are drawn:

E-wallet usage is highly prevalent in Poblacion, Panglao, with GCash as

the dominant platform. Consumers prioritize efficiency, security, and usability,

which significantly influence their satisfaction and continued use of e-wallets.

Social influence plays a vital role in adoption, suggesting that digital financial

behavior is often shaped by peer and family recommendations. Despite minor

differences in satisfaction across puroks, the community as a whole

demonstrates a strong acceptance and positive experience with e-wallet

systems.

Recommendations

In light of the study's findings and conclusions, the following recommendations

are offered:

Students. Embrace the use of e-wallets for daily transactions such as school

fees, transportation, and small purchases to promote digital literacy and

convenience.
Parents. Educate children and young adults about responsible e-wallet usage,

including budgeting, monitoring spending, and avoiding online scams. Explore

using e-wallets to efficiently handle school-related payments and remittances for

children studying away from home.

Teachers. Encourage responsible use of e-wallets in school transactions,

reinforcing the importance of cybersecurity and privacy.

School Administrators. Consider adopting e-wallets as an alternative payment

method for school-related fees, contributions, and fundraising events. Facilitate

financial and digital literacy seminars for students, parents, and staff to promote

safe and efficient use of e-wallet technology.

Consumer in Barangay Poblacion. Take advantage of the speed and

convenience offered by e-wallets while also remaining cautious about fraudulent

schemes.

Business Owners. Increase accessibility by accepting e-wallet payments to

attract more customers, especially tech-savvy youth and tourists. Use e-wallet

platforms to offer loyalty programs or discounts, which can drive repeat business

and improve customer satisfaction.

Future Researchers. Explore demographic factors (age, income, education) that

influence e-wallet usage to deepen the understanding of digital behavior.

Conduct comparative studies between urban and rural areas to identify

disparities in digital financial inclusion. Consider qualitative research (interviews


or focus groups) to gain deeper insights into personal experiences and

challenges with e-wallet adoption.
