1.1 Motivation
7
The increasing reliance on digital solutions in various aspects of life highlights the importance of
incorporating technology into pet healthcare management. Many pet owners struggle with
keeping track of their pets' vaccination schedules, medical records, dietary needs, and
grooming routines, often leading to lapses in essential care. This concern served as a major
inspiration for enhancing the existing system with more robust and intelligent features.
Furthermore, while numerous digital healthcare solutions exist for humans, the options for
managing pet health remain limited. The lack of an integrated system for maintaining structured
medical records not only affects pet owners but also creates challenges for veterinarians who
need quick and reliable access to patient histories. This realization motivated us to introduce
features that facilitate better vet-owner communication and data accessibility.
Personal experiences also played a crucial role in driving this project forward. Many of us have
pets or know individuals who do, and we have observed firsthand the struggles of balancing pet
care with daily responsibilities. From missed vaccinations to unstructured health records, these
challenges inspired us to create a comprehensive and efficient system that helps pet owners
stay on top of their pets' health without added stress.
Additionally, the growing awareness of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership
reinforces the need for a structured approach to pet healthcare. By integrating smart technology,
this system ensures that pet owners are equipped with the tools and knowledge to proactively
manage their pets' health, ultimately leading to longer, healthier lives for their companions.
