How to Score 100 in Class 10 English

3-Day Revision Plan

Day 1: Literature Mastery (40 Marks)


- Read all chapters & poems from NCERT (First Flight & Footprints Without Feet).
- Summarize each story in 5-6 key points.
- Memorize important character traits, themes & literary devices.
- Solve previous years' long-answer questions (6 markers).

Day 2: Reading + Writing & Grammar (40 Marks)


Reading Section (20 Marks)
- Solve 5 unseen passages, read questions first & scan for answers.
- Practice inference-based & vocabulary questions.

Writing & Grammar (20 Marks)


- Master Formal Letter Formats (Letter to Editor, Complaint, Inquiry, Placing Order).
- Practice 3-4 Analytical Paragraphs (stick to 120-150 words).
- Revise grammar rules (Tenses, Modals, Subject-Verb Agreement, Active-Passive, Reported
Speech).

Day 3: Full Revision + Paper Solving


- Solve 1 full-length English sample paper under exam conditions.
- Analyze mistakes & revise weak areas (especially grammar & literature).
- Go through important question banks & previous year questions.

Grammar Quick Revision

Tenses:
- Present Perfect: I have completed my homework.
- Past Perfect: She had left before I arrived.
- Future Perfect: They will have finished by 5 PM.

Active Passive Voice:


- She wrote a letter. A letter was written by her.
- He is watching a movie. A movie is being watched by him.

Reported Speech:
- Direct: He said, "I am happy." Indirect: He said that he was happy.

Last-Minute Exam Strategy

Time Management:
- Reading (20 Marks): 15 minutes
- Writing & Grammar (20 Marks): 30 minutes
- Literature (40 Marks): 50 minutes
- Revision & Proofreading: 10 minutes

Presentation Tips:
- Underline keywords & key phrases in long answers.
- Maintain proper spacing & neat handwriting.
- Stick to the word limit writing extra doesn't mean extra marks!
