IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
(i) Please read the information given in the CEN thoroughly before filling up the ONLINE application.
(ii) Candidates must ensure that they fulfill all the prescribed educational and technical qualifications for the post on or
before the closing date for submitting application against this CEN. Candidates waiting for final results of prescribed
educational /technical qualifications are not eligible to apply.
(iii) Applications must be submitted ONLINE only through the link provided on official RRB websites. Candidates are required
to go through Annexure A and Annexure B of this detailed CEN to ascertain their eligibility before applying through online
mode. Only thereafter, the candidate should exercise option for the zonal railways & Posts, within the chosen RRB.
Selection of RRB, once exercised and submitted application, will be final and cannot be changed at later date. Candidate
can apply to only one RRB and Only one application per candidate will be accepted for the notified post in this CEN.
Applicants who submit more than one application against this CEN shall be disqualified and debarred.
(iv) Eligibility of the candidates will be provisional based on the strength of details furnished by the candidates in the online
application only. The RRB will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for the eligibility, therefore, candidature will
be accepted only provisionally subject to fulfilling basic eligibility criteria as required. Candidates must go through the
requirements of educational/technical qualification, age, medical standards etc. and satisfy themselves that they are
eligible for the post. The certificates/documents in support of their Educational Qualifications and Age/Caste/Category,
etc. shall be sought at the time of Document Verification by RRB. After scrutiny of the certificates/ documents of EQs/
age/caste/ category, etc., during Document Verification if any claim made in the application is not substantiated by
certificates/ documents, the candidature of candidate will be cancelled. Further, during any stage of the recruitment or
even thereafter, if it is found that any information about the candidate is false/incorrect or if the candidate has suppressed
any relevant information or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post, his/her candidature will be
rejected forthwith.
(v) Crucial date for claim of SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/EBC status or any other benefit viz. fee concession, reservation, age-relaxation, etc.,
where not specified otherwise, will be the closing date for submission of ONLINE applications against this CEN.
(vi) Medical Fitness: Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the prescribed medical standards for the post of ALP. Candidates
who are found medically unsuitable for this post shall not be given any alternative appointment.
(vii) Age (as on 01-07-2025): 18 - 30 years (Please see para 5.1 for details about age relaxations).
(viii) Selection of RRB: RRB-wise & Railway-wise vacancies indicated in this CEN are provisional and these may increase or
decrease as per the requirement of the Railway Administrations concerned. Candidates can choose only one RRB and
indicate their preference for Railway Zones notified under that chosen RRB only.
(ix) Candidates must have their own active mobile number and a valid personal Email ID for all communication during the
entire duration of recruitment, as all communication with them will only be through SMS and/or email.
(x) For filling ONLINE APPLICATION, Candidates must go through the link given for this CEN, in the official RRB websites.
Candidates are allowed to choose only one RRB and submit only one ONLINE Application for the notified posts. During
the ONLINE APPLICATION, Candidate will be asked to Create Account. If a candidate has already created an account for

any Indian Railways CEN of 2024, before April 2025, they should use same account credentials to log in and apply for this
CEN (i.e., CEN No 01/2025) as well. If the candidate has not “Created Account” till now, candidates must first create an
account. Candidates are advised to fill the details required for account creation with utmost care, as corrections of any
kind will NOT be permitted once the account is created. Candidates must have an active personal mobile number and
a valid email ID for receiving OTPs for account creation. No change in details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form
(including mobile number and email ID) will be permitted later.

(xi) Candidates are advised, in their own interest to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar during the " Create an
Account " stage. If they missed this stage, they can still authenticate during the online application details filling process
by using the “Verify Aadhaar" facility and providing their Aadhaar details. This action needs to be done at any point of
time before final submission of application for a particular CEN. This will facilitate a smoother process at different
stages of recruitment for the candidates themselves. If applicants verify their identity & other primary details with
alternate Photo IDs, they will be subjected to significantly stricter & more detailed scrutiny at every stage of recruitment
process.

(xii) 12 Details filled in the ’Create an Account’ form such as mobile number and Email ID, Applicant Name, Father
Name, Mother Name, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth, Matriculation Roll Number & Matriculation Certificate
Serial Number, Matriculation Certificate date and EKYC, cannot be modified under any circumstances, at any
stage, once the account is created.
(xiii) After the submission of the ONLINE application (complete in all respects) and paid requisite fee successfully, if a
candidate wishes to further modify, change or correct any detail except 12 details filled in ‘Create an Account’ and also
“Chosen RRB”, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion from 14-
05-2025 to 23-05-2025. Details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form and Chosen RRB cannot be changed.
After 23-05-2025, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for modification of the information furnished in the
application.
(xiv) Shortlisting of candidates for the Second Stage CBT shall be done RRB-wise at the rate of 15 (fifteen) times the
vacancies notified for that RRB (may increase or decrease as per requirement of the Railway Administration). It will be
based on their merit in CBT-1 among the candidates who have chosen the same RRB. Marks will be normalized in all
the stages of exam that involve multiple shifts. In case more than one candidate obtain marks equal to cut-off point,
they all will all be shortlisted for CBT-2.
(xv) The shortlisted candidates for CBT-2 shall be informed through official RRB websites as well as via SMS and email (to
their registered mobile number and email ID) to download their E-call letters for appearing in CBT-2.
(xvi) Centre/City allocation for CBT-1/CBT-2/CBAT and date of exam will depend upon technical and logistical feasibility.
Candidates may have to travel to other cities/states for attending CBTs/CBAT. Request for change of exam date/
centre/date/shift shall not be allowed under any circumstances.
(xvii) Negative Marking: There will be negative marking (@1/3rd mark for every wrong answer) in both CBT-1 and CBT-2.
There shall be no negative marking in the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT).
(xviii) Banned Items: Candidates carrying banned items like communication devices and electronic gadgets (mobile
phones, bluetooth, pen drive, laptops, calculators, smart watches or any other communication devices or methods),
bangles, chains, bracelets, hearing aids, wallets/purses, belts, shoes, metallic wears, etc., or any stationery items like
pen/pencil, shall NOT be allowed to appear in the exam. Any violation shall lead to disqualification besides legal action
and debarment from future recruitment exams.
(xix) Cloak room arrangement for safe-keeping of belongings may not be available at the exam venues. Therefore,
candidates are advised not to bring any valuables/banned items including mobile phones etc. to the examination
venue.

IMPORTANT: For authentic and timely information and updates, candidates are advised to see official RRB websites
only (listed in Para 13 (J) below). Beware of fake websites – they may give misleading and incorrect information.
1.0 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1.1 Admission to all stages of the recruitment process shall be provisional, subject to the candidate satisfying all the
prescribed eligibility conditions.
1.2 Candidates who are presently debarred by any RRB / RRC should NOT apply for this notification. Their candidature will
be rejected during any stage of recruitment as and when detected.
1.3 Candidates who have been dismissed from service by the Central Government of India / State Government / PSU / any
other government organization are not eligible and should not apply.
1.4 Before applying for the post against this notification, candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfill all the
eligibility norms including age, educational qualification and medical standards. Candidates should ensure that they
have the requisite technical qualifications from recognized Board/University/Institute as on the CLOSING DATE for

submission of application for this CEN. Those awaiting results of the final examination for the prescribed qualification
are not eligible and hence should not apply.
1.5 Candidates who submit more than one application against this CEN will be summarily rejected and will be
debarred from all future examinations of RRB and Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC). Similarly, applications of
candidates who are attempting to submit multiple applications with minor changes of information and / or facts to
more than one RRB and / or multiple applications to the same RRB be summarily rejected and such candidates will also
be debarred from all future examinations of RRB and RRC.
1.6 Candidates must ensure that the proper photograph (not older than 2 months with respect to closing date for
Submission of online Application) and signature of their own, as per the standard specifications mentioned in the
Notice, or uploaded during the online application. Applications with blurred /ineligible/non-standard photograph and/or
signature are liable to be rejected when noticed at any stages of recruitment process.
1.7 Signatures of the candidates on all the documents should be uniform and identical at all stages of recruitment process.
Signature must be in running hand-writing and not in BLOCK/ CAPITAL or disjointed letters. Signature should be
written with black ink pen with pure white background only. Non-standard signature image (poor resolution,
incomplete image, incomplete signature, image other than signature, no signature(blank)image etc) will result in
rejection of candidature at any stage of recruitment process. Use of different signatures at various stages of recruitment
may result in disqualification of candidature.
1.8 The mere issuance of an E-call letter does NOT imply that the candidature of the candidate has been accepted for the
subsequent stages of the recruitment process by the RRB. At the time of examination, the appropriateness, authenticity
& genuineness of their Photograph & Signature will be verified along with the other required credentials of the candidate
before allowing them to take the exam. Credentials of the candidates will be verified along with authenticity of their
submitted information at subsequent recruitment stages i.e. PET/Medical Examination/Document Verification.
1.9 RRBs conduct verification of eligibility conditions (with reference to the original documents) only after the candidates
have qualified in all the stages of examination and are provisionally shortlisted for Document Verification. At the time of
Document Verification, the RRB will verify the details provided in the online application against the original supporting
documents submitted by the candidates. Any discrepancy between the information declared in the application and the
supporting documents OR failure to meet the eligibility criteria (such as educational/technical qualification, age,
caste/category, medical standards etc), will result in the rejection of the candidature. Furthermore, if at any stage of
recruitment or afterward, it is discovered that the candidate has provided false information or suppressed material facts,
their candidature or appointment will be cancelled immediately, and if appointed, such candidates will be removed from
service summarily and further, such candidates will also be debarred from all future examinations of RRB and RRC for
life time.
1.10 Candidate should enter their name, father name, mother name and Date of birth as recorded in
SSC/SSLC/Matriculation/10th class exam certificate or an equivalent certificate only, in on-line application during
creation of an account.
(a) In case of any change in name with respect to the name mentioned in SSC/SSLC/Matriculation/10th class
certificate, candidate should indicate their changed name as well as his/her SSC/SSLC/Matriculation/10th class
name separately at appropriate places in online application. However, all other details should match with
SSC/SSLC/Matriculation/10th class or equivalent certificate and date of such change should be prior to the date of
submission of online application.
(b) Gazette Notification or any other legal document as applicable along with any one valid photo ID with the
changed name, for such cases, should be submitted at the time of CBT-1/CBT-2/CBAT/ Document Verification (DV).
1.11 Detailed recruitment process is given at Para 12. Dates of CBT-1, CBT-2, CBAT and DV will be published on the websites
of participating RRBs as given at Para 13 (j). E-call letters for CBT-1, CBT-2, CBAT and DV (as applicable) should be
downloaded ONLY from the websites of the RRBs concerned as given at Para 13 (j). The CBT/CBAT centre & date & shift
indicated in the e-call letter shall be final, and no request for change of date/ time/ place will be entertained.
1.12 RRBs reserve the right to introduce additional CBTs and/or CBAT (as applicable), additional DV, etc. without assigning
any reason. Further, RRBs reserves the right to reschedule any CBT/CBAT/DV due to technical constraints /unavoidable
circumstances.
1.13 Free Train Travel Facility: Free Sleeper Class Railway Pass admissible to SC & ST candidates (if opted in application),
will be provided with their e-call letter for various stages of selection viz., CBT/ CBAT/ DV/ Medical Examination (as
applicable) as per details and valid caste certificate furnished in their ONLINE application.
While booking train reservation and travelling, the original SC & ST community certificate must be shown to authorized
Railway staff concerned, for verification of genuineness of the candidate. Any misuse of this free travel facility, shall lead to
rejection of candidature at any stage of the selection process including debarment for future examinations conducted
by RRBs/RRCs and liable for legal action/consequences.

1.14 Vacancies indicated in the CEN are provisional and may increase or decrease or may even become NIL in total or in
specific communities/units at a later stage, depending upon the actual needs of the Railway Administration concerned.
Additional posts if required by the Railway(s) may also be included at a later stage. The Railway Administration also
reserves the right to cancel the notified vacancies at its discretion and such decision will be final and binding on all. In
the event of such cancellation, the examination fee paid by the candidates will not be refunded except for candidates
who have attended the First Stage Examination (i.e., CBT-1). (Refer to para 7.0 for refund)
1.15 Right to Appointment: Selection by RRB does not confer upon candidates any right of appointment in the Railways. The
function of the RRB is only to recommend names of suitable candidates to the concerned authorities of the Zonal Railway
who in turn issue the Offer of Appointment subject to availability of vacancies and satisfying all eligibility criteria
including antecedents of character.
1.16 Posting: Ordinarily, a Railway servant shall be employed throughout service on the Zonal Railway or Production Unit in
which he/she is posted on first appointment and shall have no claim as a right for transfer to another Railway or another
establishment. However, a Competent Authority can transfer the railway servant to any other department or Railway
establishment, including a project in or out of India, in the exigencies of service. No request for transfer to other Railway
would be registered till the newly appointed candidate completes at least 5 to 10 years of service. Candidates are thus
advised to choose their RRB with due care and consideration.
1.17 Selected candidates for the post of ALP will have to undergo training wherever prescribed and only stipend will be paid
during the training period.
1.18 Selected candidates shall execute Security and/or Indemnity Bond wherever necessary.
1.19 Selected candidates who are finally appointed, are liable for active service in Railway Engineers' Unit of Territorial Army.
1.20 RRB reserves the right to cancel / modify the results in case of any inadvertent error / typographical mistake found in the
selection process of RRBs, at any stage of recruitment process including post empanelment /also after appointment of
candidate to Railways. Further, RRBs reserves the right to delist such candidates from selection panel & cancel their
appointment from Railways and if already appointed, he/she will be liable to be removed from Railway service.
1.21 RRBs reserve the right to change / modify / add / delete any terms & conditions of recruitment under the CEN as
necessitated and applicable at any stage.
1.22 RRBs may share, with the consent of the candidates, their scores (marks) obtained in this recruitment with other
Ministries/ Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) and Private organizations, for their own recruitment.
Candidates should indicate their consent / refusal for this in their ONLINE application.
1.23 Candidates are advised, in their own interest, to submit their ONLINE application well before the closing date for
submission of application and to avoid any last-minute rush. This precaution is recommended due to the possibility of
heavy internet or website traffic during the final days.

RRBs shall not be responsible if candidates are not able to submit their ONLINE application within the last date for
any reason whatsoever.
2.0 VACANCIES: The parameters (i.e., qualification, medical standard etc) of the post in this CEN is at Annexure A and the
RRB-wise & Zones within RRB vacancies are at Annexure B. Please note that these vacancies may increase or decrease
as per the requirement of the Railway Administration. (Revised Vacancy Table will be published accordingly.)
3.0 STANDARDS OF MEDICAL FITNESS: Candidates called for DV will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s)
conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that they are physically fit to carry out the duties connected with the
post. Visual Acuity Standard is an important medical fitness for railway service. The medical requirements for the post
of Assistant Loco Pilot of this CEN are outlined below:

Note:
(a) The above medical standards are indicative and not exhaustive and apply to candidates in general. For details,
candidates are advised to read Chapter 5 of Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Vol. I, which can be accessed at
www.indianrailways.gov.in. Candidates must ensure that they are medically fit and eligible as per prescribed medical
standards for the post.
(b) Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgical procedure to correct refractive error, are not eligible
for the post of ALP. Candidates have to submit declaration in Annexure VI-B during DV.
(c) Medical standards for Ex-Servicemen are different as detailed in Para 534 of Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Vol. I,
which can be accessed at www.indianrailways.gov.in.
(d) Candidates must specifically note that the post of ALP has stringent medical standards. Hence, they must ensure that
their fitness - both in terms of vision as well as physical/other medical standards - is as per the prescribed requirements
detailed in the medical manual indicated above.
(e) In case of failure of the candidate to pass in the prescribed medical fitness/standard of this post, he/she will not
be considered for empanelment for this post and also no alternate appointment will be provided by Railways.
(f) If a candidate fails to acquire the required medical standards for the post during his initial medical examination, he/she
may be offered one last and final opportunity to prefer Medical Appeal on payment of prescribed charges, with laid down
conditions. Candidates who availed the medical appeal option, within the allowed time, the result of medical test in the
appeal is final & binding on a candidate. The candidates who have not availed medical appeal option within the allowed
time, their initial medical examination result will only be considered.
4.0 NATIONALITY / CITIZENSHIP:
(a) A candidate must be either:
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a citizen of Nepal, or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before 01.01.1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda,
the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently
settling in India.
(vi) Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above, shall be a person in whose favour a
certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

(b) A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination provisionally.
However, the Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India has to be submitted during Document
Verification failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected.
5.0 AGE LIMIT (as on 01-07-2025): 18 to 30 years

i) If a candidate is eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, he/she will get
the maximum amongst the relaxations for which he/she is eligible (not cumulative).
ii) SC, ST & OBC (NCL) candidates applying against UR vacancies will not get any age
relaxation.
iii) Age relaxation to Ex SM candidates will be as given in para 5.1 above.

5.3 IMPORTANT: Candidates must note that the date of birth filled in their application should be the same as recorded in
their Matriculation / SSLC/10th class pass or an equivalent certificate. No subsequent request for change in date of birth
will be considered. Any difference in the date of birth will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
6.0 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
(a) The list of essential qualifications is given in Annexure-A.
(b) Candidates must already have the prescribed Educational/Technical qualifications from a recognized
Institute/University as on the last date for submission of ONLINE application.
(c) Those awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification, SHOULD
NOT apply.
NOTE: The Educational/Technical Qualification certificates viz. Provisional or Regular Certificates should contain the
date of issue. In case, date of issue of these certificates is after the closing date of the notification, then the
consolidated marks sheet with date of declaration of the final qualifying exam or individual mark sheets of all
the semesters/years with date of declaration of each semester /year result should be submitted. In case of non-
availability of date in any of these certificates, then a certificate indicating date of declaration of result from the
Board/University to this effect should be produced at the time of DV.
7.0 EXAMINATION FEE: Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee as per their community/category detailed below:

1 For all candidates (except categories mentioned below at Sl. No. 2).
Out of this fee of Rs 500/-, an amount of Rs 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting Rs 500/-
bank charges, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.
2 For candidates who belong to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender,
Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC). (Caution to Candidates:
EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS) Rs 250/-
This fee of Rs 250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on
appearing in 1st Stage CBT.
NOTE: Only candidates who attend CBT-1 will get a refund of their examination fee as mentioned above.

7.1 MODES OF FEE PAYMENT:


a) Only ONLINE fee payment through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI will be accepted. All applicable
service charges shall be borne by the candidate.
b) Fee can be paid by the candidates through ONLINE mode only. There will be no option to pay fee through any other
mode.

c) Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and summarily rejected. No
representation against such rejection will be entertained.
7.2 Minorities shall include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) which were given
minority status by the State/UT where the candidate belongs, subject to revision/deletion/inclusion if any, received till
the last date for submission of ONLINE application).
Affidavit for 'Minority Community Declaration': Minority candidates claiming waiver of examination fee will be required
to furnish an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper mentioning their minority community at the time of DV in the format at
Annexure V, failing which their candidature will be rejected.
7.3 Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates are those whose annual family income is less than Rs. 50,000 and
are eligible for concessional fee (as per para 7.0 above). For this, they should have

a) Valid Income Certificate on the date of application in the prescribed format (at Annexure IV) on the letter head of the
Issuing Authority. The following authorities are authorized to issue income certificate for the purpose of identifying
economically backward classes:
(1) District magistrate or any other Revenue Officer upto the level of Tahsildar
(2) Sitting Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha for persons of their own Constituency
(3) Sitting Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha for persons of the district in which these MPs normally reside.
(4) Union Minister for any persons from anywhere in the country.

b) BPL Card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme

(OR)

c) Izzat MST issued by Railways.


All EBC candidates who seek concessional fee, should fill in the relevant details of valid EBC certificate/BPL card/Izzat
MST in the ONLINE application and the same must also be submitted in original, at the time of DV, failing which their
candidature will be rejected
NOTE: EBC and EWS are distinct categories, and EBC should not be confused with OBC. EBC candidates should
be aware that they are entitled only for fee concession and not to job reservation.
7.4 REFUND OF EXAMINATION FEE (for those attending CBT-1):
(a) All candidates must clearly mention their bank details in their application form (viz., Name of Bank, Name of
Account Holder, Account Number and IFSC Code) for receiving the refundable portion of their examination fee
(i.e., Rs. 400/- or Rs. 250/- as applicable minus bank charges).
(b) The responsibility for furnishing correct bank account details lies on the candidates and RRB shall not
entertain any correspondence from candidates on this ground.
(c) There will be no refund of examination fee for wrong/incomplete beneficiary details and erroneous/
incomplete/rejected applications.

8.0 VERTICAL RESERVATION:


8.1 This CEN provides for vertical reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled
Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) (OBC-NCL), wherever applicable and admissible, and as
communicated by the Indenting Railways under extant rules. (See details in the Vacancy Table of Annexture B.) Only
those communities which are recognised by the Government of India as SC, ST and OBC (Non-creamy Layer), are
eligible for reservation.
NOTE: EBC & EWS are different categories. EBC candidates are not entitled to any job reservation.
8.2 All candidates, irrespective of community, will be considered against general i.e., unreserved (UR) vacancies (subject to
fulfilment of eligibility conditions required for UR). However, vacancies reserved for specific groups [viz., SC, ST, OBC
(NCL) & EWS], will be filled only by candidates belonging to that community/category.
8.3 Hence, EWS, SC, ST & OBC-NCL candidates who fulfill the requisite Educational and Technical qualifications, can also
apply against UR vacancies for which they will have to compete as general (UR) candidates without any relaxation /
concession in age, qualification or marks, etc at any stage (CBT-I/CBT-II) of the examination. In any case, candidates are
advised to indicate their actual community in the application.
8.4 For availing reservation, EWS, SC, ST & OBC-NCL candidates should furnish latest & VALID certificates (as on
closing date for submission of application), in ORIGINAL, during DV. The certificates should be issued by competent

authorities as per the formats given at (a) Annexure -I (for SC & ST candidates), (b) Annexure-II (for OBC-NCL candidates)
and (c) Annexure-III (for EWS candidates).
In the light of Hon’ble Supreme Court judgement in : Supreme court WP© 1052/2021 between Sunil Kumar Rai &others
versus State of Bihar & others, Judgement dated 21.02.2022, the candidates from who (A) originally belong to
LOHAR/LOHARA/LOHRA caste, and (b) Belong to Bihar state or migrated temporarily/permanently from Bihar state only
to other states, should submit their latest cast (which is (a) as per Annexture -I of CEN with back reference to Form -II of
Bihar Government, for claiming ST or (b)as per Annexture -II of CEN with back reference to Form - VIIA of Bihar
Government for claiming OBC-NCL) which has been issued after 01.04.2023 only and also it must valid on the closing
date for submission of online application, during Document Verification, to substantiate their claim as ST/OBC-NCL as
mentioned in the application form
In the light of Hon’ble Supreme Court judgement in : Supreme court Civil Appeal No. 18802 of 2017 between Dr Bhimrao
Ambedkar Vichar Manch, Bihar, Pata and State of Bihar & others, Judgement dated 15.07.2024, the candidates who have
communities certificate of ST/SC issued prior to the Hon’ble Supreme court judgement and also (A) originally belong to
PAN/ PANR/ SAWASI/ TANTI-TATWA (तांती-तंतवा) Caste originally, and (B) Belong to Bihar state or migrated
temporarily/permanently from Bihar state only to other states, should upload details of latest cast certificate which has
been issued on or after 01.09.2024 duly modifying/ adding their community & caste. Their community & caste/tribes will
be considered for recruitment as per their revised cast/community, these candidates must mandatorily bring the new
caste certificate which is taken on or after 01.09.2024 at the time of Document Verification, otherwise, his/her
candidature will be treated against Unreserved category.

8.5 The OBC castes mentioned in the latest list published by Ministry of Social Justice and empowerment, Government of
India will be basis for claiming OBC reservation. The caste certificate for OBC-NCL candidates should specifically
mention that “This is also to certify that he/she does NOT belong to the persons/sections (Creamy Layer) mentioned in
Column 3 of the Schedule to the Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training OM No. 36012/22/93‐
Estt.(SCT) dated 08/09/93 and modified vide GOI DOPT OM No. 36033/1/2013-Estt.(Res.) dated 13/09/2017*’’ (*further
revision if any, received till theclosing date of submission of applications against this CEN).
8.6 A person seeking appointment on the basis of reservation to OBC-NCL must ensure that he possesses the caste/
community certificate and does not fall in creamy layer on the closing date for submission of application. During
Document Verification, such candidates should produce their original OBC-NCL certificate (in prescribed format) which
is valid as on the closing date for submission of application AND also a self-declaration in format given at Annexure IIA
stating that they “do not belong to creamy layer”. Or else, their claim for reservation (as OBC-NCL) will not be accepted
and instead, they may be treated only as UR candidates subject to fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.
8.7 IMPORTANT: Community / category status as on the closing date of submission of applications against this CEN,
shall only be considered for reservation and related benefits as per eligibility. Any change in this status thereafter, shall
not be entertained. Candidates are advised to ensure that they belong to the community (sub-caste)/ category indicated
in their application form and must substantiate this claim by providing a valid certificate from the competent authority
during document verification.
8.8 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Reservation:
Candidates who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL and whose family gross annual
income is below Rs. 8 Lakh (Rupees eight lakh) are to be identified as EWS for benefit of reservation for EWS. The
income shall also include income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession etc. for the financial
year prior to the year of application submission closing date. Further, candidates whose family owns or possesses any
of the following assets shall be excluded from being identified as EWS, irrespective of family income:
i. 5 acres of agricultural land and above;
ii. Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above;
iii. Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities;
iv. Residential plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities.
The property held by a Family in different locations or different places/cities would be clubbed while applying the land
or property holding test to determine EWS status.
The term Family for this purpose will include the person who seeks benefit of reservation, his/her parents, and siblings
below the age of 18 years as also his/her spouse and children below the age of 18 years.
The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a
Competent Authority. The Income and Asset Certificate issued by any one of the following authorities in the prescribed
format as given in Annexure III shall only be accepted as candidate ‘s claim as belonging to EWS:
a) District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate / Collector / Deputy Commissioner / Additional Deputy
Commissioner / 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate / Executive
Magistrate / Extra Assistant Commissioner

b) Chief Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate
c) Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar
d) Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
The candidates applying against the vacancies reserved for EWS must possess Income and Asset Certificate as on
closing date of submission of applications against this CEN. Accordingly, they must fill up the certificate number, date
of issue of the certificate, issuing authority, district, and state of issue in the ONLINE application. Further, these
candidates are also required to produce valid Income and Asset Certificate during document verification. In case of
non-compliance to these stipulations, their claim for reserved status under EWS will not be entertained and the
candidature / application of such candidates, if fulfilling all the eligibility conditions for General (UR) category, will be
considered under General (UR) vacancies only.

9.0 HORIZONTAL RESERVATION:


9.1 This CEN also provides for horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen (ExSM) irrespective of their social community.
9.2 The total vacancies shown in the Vacancy Table (Annexure-B), also include the vacancies reserved for ExSM i.e., the
vacancies for ExSM wherever given in Vacancy table are not separate but they are included in total number of vacancies
9.3 ExSM candidates can also apply against unreserved vacancies of the post that are not exclusively earmarked for them.
They will be eligible for age relaxation and fee exemption while applying for this Unreserved post also.
10.0 EX-SERVICEMEN:
10.1 The term Ex-Serviceman means a person who has served in any rank (whether as a combatant or a non-combatant) in the
regular Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union but does not include a person who has served in the Defence Security
Corps., the General Reserve Engineering Force, the Lok Sahayak Sena and the Para Military Forces
and
(a) who either has been retired or relieved or discharged from such service whether at his own request or being relieved
by the employer after earning his or her pension; (or)
(b) who has been relieved from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service or circumstances
beyondhis control and awarded medical or other disability pension; (or)
(c) who has been released from such service as a result of reduction in establishment; (or)
(d) who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagement, otherwise than on
his own request, or by way of dismissal, or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency and has been given
a gratuity; and includes personnel of the Territorial Army, namely, pension holders for continuous embodied service
orbroken spells of qualifying service; (or)
(e) Personnel of Army Postal Service who are part of Regular Army and retired from the Army Postal Service without
reversion to their parent service with pension, or are released from the Army Postal Service on medical grounds
attributable to or aggravated by military service or circumstances beyond their control and awarded medical or
otherdisability pension; (or)
(f) Personnel who were on deputation in Army Postal Service for more than six months prior to 14th April 1987; (or)
(g) Gallantry award winners of the Armed forces including personnel of Territorial Army; (or)
(h) Ex-recruits boarded out or relieved on medical ground and granted medical disability pension w.e.f. 01.02.2006.

10.2 Persons serving in the Armed Forces of the Union, who on retirement from service would come under the categoryof Ex-
Servicemen are eligible to apply for re-employment one year before the completion of the specific terms ofengagement
and avail themselves of all concessions available to Ex-Servicemen but such persons shall not be permitted to leave the
uniform until they complete the specific terms of engagement in the Armed Forces of the Union.
Accordingly, such serving Defense personnel to be released within one year of the closing date of submission of
applications against this CEN can also apply, both for vacancies earmarked for Ex-Servicemen and for the posts not
reserved for them. In case recruitment process takes more than one year from the last date of receipt of application, the
candidate will not be declared ineligible under ex-servicemen category only on that ground that he/she himself/herself
released from Armed forces after one year from the closing date of submission of applications against this CEN i.e., He/she
may be considered, till the date of document verification for which he /she is shortlisted.
However, they should possess the prescribed Educational Qualifications as on the closing date of submission of
applications against this CEN.
10.3 For the armed services personnel who have been serving in armed forces on the closing date of application submission, shall
submit “Employment certificate with probable date of discharge from service” as per Annexure VIIA which is VALID as on

closing date of submission of Online application. Further, a self-declaration of Undertaking as per Annexture VIIB, are to be
submitted to claim Ex-servicemen reservation benefits, by all at the time of Document Verification.

10.4 Ex-Serviceman candidates who have already secured civil employment under Central Government in Group 'C' & erstwhile
Group 'D' (including PSUs, Autonomous Bodies/Statutory Bodies, Nationalized Banks etc) after availing the benefits given to
Ex-Servicemen will be permitted only the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another civil
employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group 'C/ erstwhile Group ‘D' under Central Government. Such candidates will not
be considered against the vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen in the Central Government jobs.
10.5 If an Ex-Serviceman applies for various vacancies before joining any Civil employment, he/she can avail the benefit of
reservation as Ex-Serviceman for any subsequent employment, subject to the condition that as soon as he/she joins any Civil
employment, that Ex-Serviceman should give a self-declaration/undertaking to the concerned employer about the details of
application against this CEN. The acknowledged copy of this declaration along with NOC from the civil employer and self-
declaration as per Annexure -VIIB, should be produced during DV failing which their candidature shall stand cancelled. Further,
this benefit would be available only in respect of vacancies which are filled on direct recruitment and wherever reservation is
applicable to the Ex-Servicemen.

10.6 The Medical Standard of Ex-Serviceman will be according to para 534 of Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Volume I,
which may be accessed at www.indianrailways.gov.in.
11.0 NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) FROM PRESENT EMPLOYER:
Candidates serving (including those undergoing induction training/probation) in any Central/State Government
Department including Railways or Public Sector Undertakings or Govt Autonomous Body or Other Government entities,
may apply ONLINE directly to the RRBs duly informing their employer. Shortlisted candidates should produce an NOC
from the employer on the date of DV, failing which their candidature will be cancelled. It is the sole responsibility of the
candidate to submit the NOC from the his/her current employer within the prescribed time limit during/at the time of
Document verification/empanelment/appointment, failing which his/her candidature/empanelment/appointment will
be rejected & cancelled
NOTE: Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer, by the RRB concerned,
withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing in the examination/shortlisted for Document
verification or at the time of empanelment/appointment, their application/candidature will be liable to be rejected
/cancelled.

12.0 RECRUITMENT PROCESS:


(a) A candidate can apply to only one RRB, and only ONE ONLINE application has to be submitted through any one of
the official websites of participating RRBs as mentioned at para 13 (j). Multiple applications to either one RRB or
Multiple RRBs, will lead to rejection of all applications and liable for debarment for applying to RRBs/RRCs for future
CENs.
(b) The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:
(i) First Stage CBT (CBT-1)
(ii) Second Stage CBT (CBT-2)
(iii) Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
(iv) Document Verification (DV) and
(v) Medical Examination (ME)
(c) Information on examination schedule and venues will be given in due course through official RRB websites, SMS
and email.
(d) Request for postponement of any of the stages or for change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained under
any circumstances.
12.1 FIRST STAGE CBT (CBT-1):
(a) CBT-1 will only be a screening exam for shortlisting eligible candidates for CBT-2 based on their normalized marks
and merit.). Screening will be based on their merit in CBT-1 among the candidates who have chosen the same RRB
only.
(b) The marks of CBT-1 shall not be counted while preparing the final panel.
(c) Pattern & Syllabus of CBT-1:
(i) Duration: 60 minutes
(ii) Number of questions: 75, Maximum marks: 75 (@1 mark per question)
(iii) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.
(iv) Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
(v) Minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR & EWS - 40%, OBC (NCL) - 30%, SC - 30%, ST - 25%. This is also
applicable to Ex Service men category candidates, as per their community.

(vi) The standard of questions for CBT-1 will generally be in conformity with the educational standards and/or
minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the post. Questions will be of objective type with multiple
choice answers and are likely to cover topics pertaining to the following syllabus:
(A) Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion,
Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and
Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar
& Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
(B) Mental Ability: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical
operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency,
Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification,
Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
(C) General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th
standard level.
(D) General Awareness: Current affairs, science & technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics,
politics and other subject of importance.
12.2 SECOND STAGE CBT (CBT-2):
(a) Shortlisting of candidates for CBT-2 shall be done RRB-wise and community-wise as per their normalized marks and
merit in CBT-1 among the candidates who have chosen the same RRB only.
(b) Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS will be shortlisted for CBT-2 against UR category provided that,
they are NOT availed any relaxation / concession in age, qualification or marks, etc
(c) Candidates who are shortlisted availing reservation benefits of a community / Category (Ex-servicemen/EWS) shall
continue to be consider only against that community /category for all subsequent stages (CBT2/CBAT/DV) of
recruitment process
(d) Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for CBT-2 shall be limited to 15 (fifteen) times the number of vacancies
notified against each RRB. In case more than one candidate obtain marks equal to cut-off point, they all will be
shortlisted for CBT-2
(e) However, Railways reserve the right to increase / decrease the above limit as required, to ensure availability of
adequate number of candidates for the notified post.
(f) The final panels for ALP will be prepared only on the basis of marks and merit of candidates in CBT-2 & CBAT.
(g) Pattern & Syllabus of CBT-2:
(i) CBT-2 shall comprise of two parts viz., Part-A and Part-B as detailed below.
(ii) Total Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes & Total Questions: 175
 Part-A: 90 minutes & 100 questions
 Part-B: 60 minutes & 75 questions
(iii) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.
(iv) Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
(vii) In Part -A, Minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR & EWS - 40%, OBC (NCL) - 30%, SC - 30%, ST - 25%.
This is also applicable to Ex Service men category candidates, as per their community.
(v) Only the marks scored in Part-A shall be counted for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of this
recruitment process provided the candidate irrespective of community is able to secure qualifying marks
(35%) in Part-B.
(h) SYLLABUS for Part-A:
(A) Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion,
Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and
Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar &
Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
(B) General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding,
Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and
Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning,
Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
(C) Basic Science and Engineering: The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing
(Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units,
Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and
Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment
Education, IT Literacy etc.

(vi) SYLLABUS for Part-B:


(A) Part-B is only a qualifying test in nature and shall have questions from the various trade syllabi as
prescribed by Directorate General of Training (DGT).
(B) Note: Qualifying Percentage - 35% for all candidates irrespective of category/community.
(C) Syllabus of Various Trades: Please check the website (https://dgt.gov.in.) of Directorate General of

Training (GOI) for syllabi of different technical trades.
(D) Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualification will be required to appear in the section having
questions from their trade.
(E) Degree, Diploma candidates have to select one trade from the list of trades listed below against their
engineering discipline.

12.3 Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):

(a) Candidates equal to 8 (eight) times the number of ALP vacancies for each notified community / category viz.,
UR(includes OBC-CL), OBC(NCL), SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM), shall be shortlisted for CBAT on the basis of
their marks in Part-A of CBT-2 among the candidates who have chosen the same RRB only with the application of
reservation rules, provided they qualify in Part-B of CBT-2. In case more than one candidate obtain marks equal to
cut-off point, they all will be shortlisted for CBAT
(b) Such shortlisted candidates should produce their Vision Certificate in the prescribed format (as per Annexure-
VIA) in original, during the CBAT, failing which they will not be permitted to appear.
(c) It is mandatory to clear each test battery / section of CBAT separately, to qualify.
(d) The CBAT shall be only in English and Hindi and there shall be no negative marking.
(e) For information on CBAT, candidates are advised to check the following website links of RDSO –

(f) Qualifying Marks: All candidates (irrespective of community) must secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each
test battery separately to qualify in the CBAT.
(g) The merit list will be prepared only from amongst candidates qualifying in the CBAT. 70% weightage will be given
for marks obtained in Part-A of CBT-2 and 30% weightage for score obtained in the CBAT.
12.4 Document Verification (DV):
(a) Based on the marks and merit of candidates in Part-A of CBT-2, qualifying in Part-B of CBT-2 and scores in CBAT,
candidates equal to the number of vacancies, will be shortlisted for Document Verification.
(b) In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e., the older
candidate shall be given higher merit than the younger candidate.
(c) Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the
Railway Administration and final verification of all essential documents and verification of antecedents / character of the
candidates.
(d) On completion of all stages of recruitment process, RRB will allot Railway zone/Production unit as per the option of eligible
candidates, subject to merit, medical standard and vacancy position. Once candidates are empanelled, as per their merit
and choice, they will forfeit the right to be considered for their preference in the next priority zone/unit. However, RRBs are
also reserve the right to Railway zone/unit, which is/are not opted by the candidate, if considered in administrative interest,
subject to the candidates’ meeting eligibility requirements.
(e) In case of any shortfall in empanelment or other exigencies, RRBs reserve the right to utilise the candidates down in the
merit list if required, as per merit and options of such candidates. This however, will not confer any vested right on such
candidates to be considered for appointment.
(f) Candidates may please note that RRBs only recommend names of empanelled candidates to the Railway Zone concerned.
The offer of appointment is issued only by the respective Railway Zones.

13.0 HOW TO APPLY:
(a) Candidates must read all information and instruction carefully before filling the ONLINE application to prevent
mistakes.

(b) For filling ONLINE APPLICATION, Candidates must go through the link given for this CEN, in the official RRB websites
at para 13 (j) below. Candidates are allowed to choose only one RRB and submit only one ONLINE Application for
the notified posts within chosen RRB only.

(c) During the ONLINE APPLICATION, Candidate will be asked to Create Account. If a candidate has already created an
account for any Indian Railways CEN of 2024, before April 2025, they should use same account credentials to log in
and apply for this CEN (i.e., CEN No 01/2025) as well. If the candidate has not “Created Account” till now, candidates
must first create an account. Candidates are advised to fill in the details required for account creation with utmost
care, as corrections of any kind will NOT be permitted once the account is created.
(d) They must have an active personal mobile number and a valid email ID for receiving OTPs for account creation. No
change in details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and email ID) will be permitted later.

(e) Candidates are advised, in their own interest to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar during the " Create an Account
" activity, which will facilitate a smoother process at different stages of recruitment for the candidates themselves. If
applicants verify their identity & other primary details with alternate Photo IDs will be subjected to significantly
stricter & more detailed scrutiny at every stage of recruitment process

(f) 12 Details filled in the ’Create an Account’ form such as mobile number and Email ID, Applicant Name, Father
Name, Mother Name, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth, Matriculation Roll Number & Matriculation Certificate
Serial Number, Matriculation Certificate date and EKYC, cannot be modified at any stage once the account is
created under any circumstances.

(g) After the submission of the ONLINE application (complete in all respects) and paid requisite fee successfully, if a
candidate wishes to further modify, change or correct any detail except 12 details filled in ‘Create an Account’ and
also “Chosen RRB”, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion
from 14-05-2025 to 23-05-2025. Details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form and Chosen RRB cannot be changed.
After 23-05-2025, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for modification of the information furnished in the
application.

(h) Mandatory scanned documents to be kept ready before filling the on-line application.
1.Standard photograph (Image) - Specification: It should be in colour Indian passport size photograph (35mm width
x 45mm height) photograph with plain white colour background only. The dress should be non-white dress,
preferably in dark colours. It should be JPG/JPEG format scanned with minimum 150 DPI resolution and size of the
photograph should be between (50-150 KB). The colour photograph must not be older than two months with
respect to closing date for submission of the application.
1.1) The Photograph should have clear front view of the candidate without wearing sun glasses and/or Dark glasses
and/or Cap and/or Hat and in case candidates wears vision correction glasses, then the photograph should not have
glare reflection on the vision/plain glasses and eyes should be clearly visible. Head should occupy at least 50
percent of the area of the photograph with full face view looking at the camera directly frontwards. Further, the area
of elbow/below elbow/ below chest portion should not be visible in the photo. Expression of face should be natural
(no grinning/ frowning /raised eye brows). Eyes should be open clearly and looking straight to front side view.
1.2) The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth, or any shadow. Forehead, both
eyes, both cheeks, nose, chin, neck and both shoulders should be clearly visible. The photo should be clear with
proper resolution (minimum of 240pixels in width x 320pixels in Height), brightness & sharpness and with
continuous tone quality. The photo should be free from signature/name/dates or any other marks.
Note: 1. The applicant photograph obtained at the time of exams and/or Document Verification / and/or Medical
should match all head features with the applied photograph during online application submission. In case, if
it is found that there is mismatch of Photograph, his candidature may be disqualified. Further, legal prosecution
may be initiated and candidate will be debarred for life time for Railway recruitments conducted by RRB/RRCs.
In addition to that, the photo mentioned in the Photo ID during exams should have the same features with
photographs applied during the application. To ensure this, candidate photograph in photo ID may get updated
with the recent photograph which will be further used in all recruitment processes.
2. Candidates are advised to keep at least 12 copies of same photograph applied on application for Document

Verification and Medical Examination purpose.

2. Standard Signature (Image) - Specifications: Signature should be on white paper with black ink pen only.
Signature must be in running letters handwriting and it should NOT be BLOCK / CAPITAL/DISJOINED letters. The
Image should be in JPG/JPEG format with size of file between 30 to 49 KB. The image is obtained by scanning with
minimum of 100 DPI resolution. The uploaded signature image should have proper resolution (Minimum of 140
pixels in width x 60 pixels in height) and complete image of signature should be visible and be available in the centre
of the scan box (size of 35mm width x 20mm height) of online application.
Note: The Signature must be signed by the applicant only. The applicant's signature obtained at the time of exams
and/ or DV and/or Medical should match with the online application signature during application submission. In case,
it is found that there is mismatch of Signature, his/her candidature will be disqualified. Further, legal prosecution may
be initiated and candidate will be debarred for life time for Railway recruitments conducted by RRB/RRCs.

3. SC/ST Certificate (Only for candidates requested for free passes for train travel): - The scan document should be
in the PDF format only with size below 400 KB only. The certificate should be legible, clear, LATEST & VALID on
the closing date of submission of online application.
(i) Candidates can also use the services of the Common Services Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information
Technology, Government of India under the Digital India initiatives for submitting ONLINE applications. The Common
Services Centre (CSC) scheme is a part of the National e Governance Plan (NeGP) of the Government of India and is
managed at each village panchayat level by a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE). There are more than 1.5 lakhs
Common Services Centres (CSC) across the country which will provide the desired support to candidates from urban
as well as rural areas in the ONLINE submission of the Application Form and payment of fee through e-wallet. The list
of the Common Services Centre is available on the website: www.csc.gov.in. To know the nearest Common Services
Centre, please open the link - Find My Csc (https://findmycsc.nic.in/csc/).
(j) Candidates are advised to visit official RRB websites frequently for authentic information and regular updates on
various stages of the recruitment process or any changes in this notification.

(k) The onus of proving the validity of the information submitted in the ONLINE application with original documents, will
lie on the candidates.
(l) IMPORTANT:
(i) Candidates must keep their registered mobile number and registered e-mail ID active throughout the recruitment
process, as all communication with them will only be through SMS and/or email.
(ii) RRBs will not entertain any request for change of mobile number and e-mail address at any stage.
(iii) Candidates are advised to carefully note and remember their Registration Number for further stages of
recruitment process and correspondence with RRBs. Any request to provide Registration Number will not be
entertained.
14.0 GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION:
After Creating an account, please follow the instructions for filling up the ONLINE application.
(a) Candidates must fill the ONLINE application form with correct information and re-check before submission.
(b) Applicant will not be able to make any correction in the ONLINE application after submission of the application.
(c) Medium of Examination: Questions for CBT-1 and CBT-2 will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian
languages (viz., Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi,
Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). Accordingly, candidates must choose their medium of examination from any one amongst
those listed in the ONLINE application form. CBT-1 and CBT-2 questions will be displayed in the language opted and
in English. However, CBAT will be conducted only in English and Hindi.
(d) After submission of application, candidate will be directed to opt for the mode of payment of examination fee as
explained in para 7.1 and complete the payment process as per the amount at in para 7.0.

IMPORTANT: Please be cautious about the genuineness of the mode of payment as well as the closing date &
time for submission of ONLINE applications against this CEN, while making payment. Avoid unauthorised
websites.
(e) Finally, acceptance of ONLINE application submission will happen only after receiving confirmation of fee payment.
The applicant will receive a confirmation on successful payment through email & SMS.
15.0 MODIFICATION OF APPLICATION:
(a) After the final submission of the ONLINE application with requisite fee, if a candidate wishes to further modify,
change or correct any detail except 12 details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and Email
ID) and Chosen RRB, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for each
occasion. Details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and Email ID) and Chosen RRB
cannot be changed.
(b) The modification fee is to be paid by all candidates irrespective of community and category.
(c) In the case of a candidate modifying his community from SC/ST to UR or OBC or EWS, he will have to pay the
difference in examination fee i.e. Rs.250 in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, his modified
application will not be accepted.
(d) Similarly, if a candidate is switching from Ex.SM/Female/Transgender to UR/OBC (NCL)/EWS/Non Ex.SM/Male etc.,
he will have to pay the difference in examination fee i.e. Rs.250 in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure
to do so, his modified application will not be accepted
(e) Modifications of ONLINE application will be allowed any number of times on payment of the modification fee for
each occasion.
(f) Modifications to the ONLINE application, along with the payment of the modification fee, will be permitted up to 10
(ten) days after the closing date and time of submission of applications for this CEN. The modification window will
remain open from 14-05-2025 to 23-05-2025. After this period, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for
modification of the information furnished in the application.
16.0 INVALID APPLICATIONS / REJECTIONS:
(a) ONLINE applications will be liable for rejection on the following grounds amongst others:
I) Multiple applications to different RRBs or same RRB: In such case, all the applications will be
rejected summarily and such candidates will be debarred from all future RRB and RRC exams.
II) Invalid Photograph (i.e., not as per prescribed Specifications) such as Black & White photograph, photo
older than 2 months with respect to closing date of submission of application, photo in photo copied
photograph, with less size photo within overall frame, Dark/distracting/ non-white background , group
photograph, distractive shadows on background/ behind head, photo covering elbow and/or below
elbow portion and /or photo below chest portion, photos with head/shoulder tilted, side/tilted view,
Head side ward/ upward/downward, distracting shadows on /across the face, photos with fully eye
closed , looking tilt toward downwards/sideways, Hair across eyes/ face, glare on eye glass, dark
glasses, poor resolution/ brightness/sharpness/blurred/ washed out colours/ pixelated photos, Un-
natural skin tones, photos with signature or name or date or any other marks or damage (torn, creased,
marked), unrecognizable facial features, inverted image, selfie, Head with Cap/Helmet/ Hat,
photocopied photograph, blank image etc.
III) Invalid Signature (i.e., not as per prescribed specifications) such as use of non-white background
and/or non-black colour signature, use of BLOCK/CAPITAL letters instead of running hand-writing, poor
resolution, incomplete image, incomplete signature, image other than signature, no
signature(blank)image etc.
IV) Candidate's name appearing in the Debarred List of any RRB/RRC
V) Any other irregularity including the deviations listed in above paras under 16.0(a) which is/are found
during application scrutiny stage, before/after issue of e-call letters for CBT-I/CBT-II/CBAT or during
Document verification.
(b) Rejected Applications: Details of rejected applications (along with the reason for rejection) can be viewed on the
website of the RRB concerned by logging in, which will be final and binding and no further correspondence shall be
entertained on the subject. No refund of examination fee will be made for rejected applications. SMS and e-mail
alerts shall also be sent to the candidates on their registered mobile numbers and e-mail IDs. Candidates will not
be intimated by post.
17.0 Instructions Related to E-Call letter:
(a) Information and details regarding the CBT schedules and link for downloading the E-call letters will be given on the
official websites of the RRBs listed at para 13 (j). Eligible candidates will also be informed via SMS and email.

(b) Eligible candidates can download their e-call letter for the CBT / CBAT from the official RRB websites as given at Para
13 (j), about 4 (four) days before the date of CBT / CBAT. However, intimation about the city of examination shall be
given about 10 (ten) days in advance.
(c) No call letter will be sent to candidates by post.
(d) Detailed information and instructions regarding the CBT/CBAT will be given along with the e-call letter. Candidates
should read and follow them scrupulously. Failure to comply with the instructions may lead to their disqualification.
(e) Free Travel Facility: In case of SC & ST candidates who are eligible for free train travel, their e-call letter itself will
contain the free travel authority (sleeper class railway pass). Such SC & ST candidates will be allowed to book train
reservation by submitting a self-attested photocopy of their e-call letter and SC/ST certificate at the ticket booking
counter. During the journey, SC & ST candidates should carry their original community certificate and an original
prescribed proof of identity for undertaking journey failing which they will be treated as travelling without ticket and
charged accordingly.
(f) During the examination, candidates must bring their e-call letters along with a valid ORIGINAL Photo ID (viz., Voter
ID-Card, Aadhaar card, printout of e- Aadhaar, driving license, PAN card, passport, valid identity card issued by the
employer in case the candidate is a govt. employee, school / college / university photo ID card (if still studying), etc.)
to the examination hall, failing which the candidates shall NOT be allowed to appear in the examination.
(g) Candidates must also bring a copy of the SAME colour passport photograph which was uploaded in their ONLINE
application, during the CBT/CBAT.
18.0 VERIFICATION OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS AND FORMAT OF CERTIFICATES:
(a) Candidates shortlisted for DV will have to produce all their original documents along with two sets of self-attested
photocopies at the time of DV.
(b) Further, these candidates should upload the scanned copies (in true colour) of Photo & Signature before their DV
date through the portal - https://oirms-ir.gov.in/rrbdv.
(c) All certificates should be either in English or Hindi only. Where certificates are not in English / Hindi, self-attested
translated version (in Hindi / English) should be produced wherever / whenever required. Certificates produced
during the DV should be strictly in the prescribed formats.
(d) No additional time will be given to the candidates not producing their original certificates on their date of DV and
the candidature of such candidates is liable to be forfeited.
19.0 USE OF UNFAIR PRACTICES:
(a) Any candidate found resorted to unfair means for any kind during any stage of recruitment process such as
forgery, Impersonation, cheating, misconduct, use or attempt to use of banned items mis-representation or
suppression of facts, provided a wrong information or submitted a false document etc., will be debarred from
appointment in the railways and if already appointed he/she, shall be dismissed from services. Such candidate
is also liable to face appropriate legal action as deemed fit. (Attention to be drawn to Act “The Public
examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024” effective from 21.06.2024)
(b) Any use of canvassing, unwanted or unfair influence to further undue interests in respect of recruitment process
candidate shall lead to disqualification, debarment of the candidates’ concern. Such candidates will be liable
to legal action.
(c) WARNING: Beware of unscrupulous elements and job racketeers offering appointment in the Railways - either
through influence or by use of unfair and unethical means. RRBs do not appoint any agent or coaching centres
for recruitment. Candidates are warned against any such claims being made by any person or agency.
Candidates are selected purely on merit.
20.0 MISCELLANEOUS:
(a) Biometric details of candidates will be recorded at every stage of the recruitment process. In case of any mismatch,
RRBs concerned shall reserve the right to disqualify a candidate and take appropriate legal action on that basis.
(b) RRBs also reserve the right to conduct additional authentication procedures to cross-verify the identity and carry
out background checks of any candidate.
(c) RRBs reserve the right to conduct additional CBT/ CBAT/ DV/ME (if required) at any stage. RRBs also reserve the
right to cancel part or whole of any recruitment process at any stage for the post of ALP notified in this CEN without
assigning any reason thereof.
(d) The decision of RRBs in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of ONLINE applications, issue of
free rail passes, penal action for false information, modification of vacancies, mode of selection, conduct of CBT,
allotment of examination centres, selection, etc., will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or
correspondence will be entertained by the RRBs in this regard.
(e) RRBs will not be responsible for any inadvertent/typographical errors and reserves the right to correct such errors.
Due to inadvertent /typographical error(s), if any candidate is either shortlisted for CBTs/CBAT/CBTST/Document
verification or result declared or empanelled or appointed, RRB reserves the right to cancel / modify the results and

also cancel / modify empanelment of such candidates and if already appointed, he/she shall be liable to be
removed from service, duly ensuring principle of merit and equality of opportunity, as a fundamental basis.
(f) Any legal issues arising out of this CEN after his/her Application provisionally accepted and received e-call letter to
CBT, shall fall within the legal jurisdiction of respective Central Administrative Tribunals /High Court under which
the candidate chosen RRB concerned is located. However, in case of rejection of his/her candidature due to
rejection of application on account of any reason whatsoever, then, any legal issues arising out of this CEN, shall
fall within the legal jurisdiction of Central Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad /High Court for the State of Telangana.
(g) Candidates are advised to check the official RRB websites for any Amendment/Corrigendum/ Important Notice
issued against the specified notification for taking necessary action from time to time.
(h) In the event of any dispute about the interpretation, the English version of notification and subsequent
Amendment/Corrigendum /Important Notice as published in official RRB websites will be treated as final.
