Question1: Match the following:

1 Total no. of needles in a machine A- Number of needles per 1 inch.
2 No of courses determines B- no. of needles in machine
3 Stitch length C- n x feeders x total no. of needles.
4 Number of wales determines D- the length of fabrics
5 No. of courses in 1 machine revolution = E- Total no. of loops in 1 course x Loop length
6 Total no. of loops for n rev = F- Length of yarn in loop
7 No. of loops in course = G- number of feeders
8 Course length= H- the width of fabric
9 Gauge I- 3.142 x machine cylinder diameter x gauge

Question 2 : Calculate the suitable yarn for the following knitting machines :
1-Single jersey circular machine with gauge =20
2-rib circular machine with gauge = 18
3- interlock circular machine = 24
4- V bed machine with gauge = 22

Question 3: A circular knitting machine has 30” diameter, 24 gauge and 96 feeders. It is producing a single
jersey fabric with 15 course per cm. If the machine runs at 22 rpm and 85% efficiency.
1. find out the total number of needles in a the machine.
2. calculate the length of the fabric produced in one hour.

4- Calculate the production per day in kg of a plain single jersey knitted at 30-inch diameter, 20 gauge circular
machine having 96 feeders and 0.25 cm stitch length produced by 30 Ne., the machine operates at 25 rpm at
70% efficiency.
