I. Problem Solving

1. A simply supported rectangular reinforced concrete beam 380 mm wide having an effective depth, d = 620
mm carries a total uniform factored load of 128.25 kN/m on a 7-meter clear span. Design the spacing of 10
mm Ø stirrups as shown in the figure. Use f’c = 28 MPa, fyt = 278 MPa.
