Sustainable Energy Goals
• ensuring that the world continues
progressing without depleting its
resources or causing irreparable
environmental harm.
• utilize energy sources that are
renewable and environmentally
friendly.
Fairness in Energy Changes
• Sustainable energy changes can be
expensive, especially for lower-income
individuals.
• Governments need to ensure fair
transitions.
• Collaboration among countries for
shared decisions (e.g., universal
standards).
Rich Countries Assisting Developing Countries
• Rich countries can share technology and resources with
developing nations.
• Sharing must be done fairly to not hinder innovation.
• Developed countries providing solar or wind energy tech.
Sustainable Energy Strategies
• No one-size-fits-all approach.
• Each country has unique resources and challenges.
Examples: Different types of renewable energy (solar, wind,
hydro), different regulations.
HARNESSING SCIENCE
AND TECHNOLOGY
Harnessing science and
technology is vital in advancing
societies by driving innovation,
addressing critical global issues,
and improving everyday life.
POTENTIAL OF SCIENCE
AND TECHNOLOGY
Science and technology have the
potential to revolutionize energy
production by advancing renewable
energy, improving efficiency, and reducing
environmental impact, leading to a more
sustainable and secure energy future.

A good system for getting and sharing scientific advice is imperative to
keep things reliable.
Five Key Aspects for Good Advice:
1. Advice should fit each country’s situation
2. International organizations like the World Health Organization
(WHO) help coordinate responses globally
3. Trust is crucial, and there should be openness about the facts
4. Learning from past experiences is vital for dealing with health crises
5. Clear communication is essential for people to understand what’s
happening
How was the technology
used in the pandemic?
✔Governments use real-time data to
make decisions and create policies.
✔New tools like contact-tracing apps,
help keep track of infected people
and warn others.
While science and technology help, they also bring
challenges. Traditional ways of controlling or managing the
development and application of science and technology are
no longer sufficient. There is a need for new and more
effective systems to oversee how these technologies
develop. This involves planning for the future, including
diverse perspectives, and having a clear purpose for
adopting new technologies.
