The data above is a graphical presentation of the psychological test results of the new and
transferee students from the College of Computer Studies enrolled for the First Semester of the SY
2023-2024. Data obtained are from ninety-eight (N=98) new and transferee students who were
given the IQ test at the Guidance Center upon enrollment. Results of their abstract intelligence test
(Purdue Non-Language Test) revealed that forty-one percent (41%) belong to the average category
indicating their mediocre ability to perform in activities that require abstract reasoning and that
their innate potentials are fair. Students who got above average rates comprise nineteen percent
(19%) of the population which means that they have enough cognitive ability to deal with
complicated concepts. Nine percent (9%) of the test takers were able to obtain a superior result
denoting their tendency to be quick in dealing and adjusting to abstract problems. Results also show
that these students are intellectually flexible and mentally alert. The remaining twenty-nine percent
(29%) of the population consists of below-average students suggesting their need for ample time
and adequate training to enhance their ability to grasp abstract concepts and new ideas. These
students are still in need of constant observation and guidance from instructors.

new and transferee students from the College of Dentistry enrolled for the First Semester
of the SY 2023-2024. Data obtained are from forty-three (N=43) new and transferee
students who were given the IQ test at the Guidance Center upon enrollment. Results of
their abstract intelligence test (Purdue Non-Language Test) revealed that forty-nine percent
(49%) belong to the average category indicating their mediocre ability to perform in
activities that require abstract reasoning and that their innate potentials are fair. Students
who got above average rate comprise sixteen percent (16%) of the population which means
that they have enough cognitive ability to deal with complicated concepts. Three percent
(3%) of the test takers were able to obtain a superior result denoting their tendency to be
quick in dealing and adjusting to abstract problems. Results also show that these students
are intellectually flexible and are mentally alert. The remaining thirty-three percent (33%)
of the population consists of the below average students suggesting their need for ample
time and adequate training in order to enhance their ability to grasp abstract concepts and
new ideas. These students are still in need of constant observation and guidance from
instructors.
