1. About Dashboard

Monitoring dashboard of Department of commerce (DoC) is designed to provide graphical

display of import and export of merchandise and service trade data. It also reflects the
trade analysis of all commodities, trade from all countries/territories, States & district wise
exports and comparison of balance of trade from other countries.

The trade data at item level such as Principal Commodity (PC) groups (168), 2-digit, 4-
digit, 6-digit, 8-digit level ITC-HS codes and analysis of top principal commodities, category
- wise imports and exports, monthly and yearly comparison of trade data in the form of
charts and tables are also available.

2. Dashboard Features

❖ Accessibility of the dashboard: The dashboard can be accessed through open web
source without a need to login or vpn.
❖ URl: http://dashboard.commerce.gov.in/
❖ Or Click on https://commerce.gov.in/→ then Click on Dashboard
❖ Users can view the graphical representation of yearly and month-wise with the
accessibility of converting USD values to Indian Rupees at just one click.
❖ It provides filtering capabilities based upon specified parameters to limit the data
being displayed in the report.
❖ To download data a user can right click on any visual and then click on export data,
resulting in the download of a CSV file.
❖ The dashboard is developed in Microsoft power BI tool and database is managed on
SQL server.

 3. Working with Dashboards

3.1 Navigate a report in dashboard

User can navigate to different pages by using navigation pane on the left. Use the buttons at
the left side of any report/home page.

3.2 Interact with filters/slicers
Filters/slicers allow narrowing the data that is visualized on a page, multiple filters can be
selected to narrow down the dataset.

3.4 Sort the data in visualization
Select the ellipsis (…) to open the options menu, then click sort by. Click again to switch
between ascending and descending.

3.5 Export the data reflected in a visual

Select the ellipsis (...) to open the options menu, and then click on ‘Export’ to download the
data in .csv/.xlsx format. The resulting file containing the data presented in the visual will
be downloaded.

8. Item-wise Trade
Filters are available for year (financial year and calendar year), Month, currency
(Rupees/US Dollar), Export/Import, Territory, Country, Items (PC level, 2-digit, 4-digit, 6-
digit and 8-digit level of ITC-HS code). It has two tabs namely Values and Quantity for
providing the details of value of export-import at PC level and all level of ITC HS codes and
quantity at 8 digit level respectively.
