To introduce students to the properties of various transmission media available


to analogue and digital network systems and fundamental principles used in their
modelling, analysis, and design.

13. Intended Learning Outcomes


Upon completion of this module, the student should be able to:
• Discuss the major properties of various transmission media available to digital
and analogue network systems
• Analyse appropriate transmission media for a particular application
• Describe analogue modulation techniques
• Asses the performance of analogue modulation techniques
• Apply principles of digital sampling and transmission
