Present Perfect Tense

 We often use the present perfect tense to talk about past actions or
situations that have a connection with the present.

e.g.: Look at that! They have bought a new car.

Wow! Sasha has had a haircut.

I have forgotten my dictionary at home. Can I borrow yours?

 We often use the present perfect to give new information, for example
when we want to report an event that happened recently / a short while
ago.

e.g.: Spain has won the world cup.

 We often use the present perfect to talk about a situation that began in
the past and continues up to the present or future.

e.g.: I have learnt English for ten years.


Formation of the present perfect tense

has / have + past participle of the word
