Declamation Contest ( Grade IV – VI )

Mechanics and Guidelines:


1. Each section must have only two ( 2 ) participants.
2. Participants shall be provided a copy of a declamation piece to be delivered in 3-4 minutes.
3. The piece should be memorized.
4. Participants shall be in an appropriate costume and shall use props whenever necessary.
5. All contestants should send the video of the declamation entry not later than Nov. 27, 2023
6. The first place winner will present his / her winning piece on December 1, 2023 during the Reading Month Culminating Activity.

Criteria for Judging (Declamation)


Mastery - 30%
Interpretation ( Expression & Characterization ) - 30%
Delivery ( Voice Projection and Voice Quality ) - 30%
Costume and Props. - 10%
Total - 100%
